Word on the street is Walmart is practically bleeding cash right now, so they’re slashing prices on basically everything. I actually managed to snag THIS beauty. Now I just have to pray 😬 it actually shows up.
Americans tend to cling to their big-name brands like Corsair or Corsair, often overlooking perfectly decent units from companies like Hexama just because they aren't household names. A great example is Riotoro, which was getting a bad rap until someone actually looked under the hood and realized they were using high-end Corsair internals.
If you actually knew how to read a PSU review and interpret what it’s telling you, you’d be able to conclude from this one (even if it is in Russian) that the unit is perfectly fine—honestly, it's better than that Corsair VSa many people tend to cram into much more expensive builds. While there are definitely better options in this category (though finding modular ones is tough), saying it's "terrible" based on the blind advice you're trying to hand out is just as wrong. 🙂
I built this PC at Micro Center, so why bother acting like an expert and suggesting parts that aren't even available in their inventory? If you actually want to be helpful, you should just suggest whatever you think is best from what they actually have on the shelves instead of "advising" me like this. 🙂
BTW, if we're talking about absolute minimum dimensions, I think you could fit something like an Intel Core i7-8700 without a GPU in here. Not sure if that would be enough juice for Adobe though...
So basically, Best Buy splits their power supplies into standard and modular, then just stuffs the modular ones into the standard category. 🤦
swiftfalcon89 said:for $33 >SMALLER< there's the Riotoro Enigma G2 650w 80+ Gold fully modular 120mm which fits perfectly in that case 😁 You can get a 750w version for the same price, but he really doesn't need it.😁
It’s not about the wattage; it’s about getting five years of reliability, Gold efficiency, and—most importantly—high modularity since we're working with such a small case. It has $33 less power than the Fortron Hyper 85+ 550W, but that one is just Bronze rated with thicker, non-modular cables, which is a total dealbreaker for builds like this.
