Why do people take me for granted? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I honestly believe there is something deeply unhealthy about tying your entire sense of happiness to other people. It seems to me that individuals who do this tend to harbor these massive, unrealistic expectations toward people who simply don't feel the same way—mostly because they have a tendency to be quite suffocating in their relationships. I once had a friend—a genuinely good person, really—but she expected us to meet up at least three times a week just to sit over coffee for hours while she vented about her problems (which started out being all about her college courses and eventually shifted into her dating life). In essence, she wasn't finding fulfillment anywhere else in her life, so these friendships became her only source of joy. But, truthfully, it was exhausting; she’d constantly expect her friends to coddle her and reassure her that everything would be fine, even though she wasn't doing a single thing to fix her own situation—everything just stayed in this perpetual status quo while she complained about how much it bothered her. Looking back, it felt incredibly depressing and, if I'm being honest, a bit selfish. Everyone is dealing with their own struggles in their own way, and it's perfectly normal—especially once you hit that stage of life where most people are graduating or starting families—for friendships to not be the absolute center of your universe anymore. I really can't wrap my head around people who demand so much from others; sometimes I end up feeling disappointed in myself, so I can only imagine how much more draining it is to feel that way about someone else! Maybe we just need a bit more focus on our own lives and personal growth, and perhaps a little less dwelling on the perceived injustices of the world.
Jeans recommendations? in Fashion ·
I actually gave their denim a try—though, if I’m being honest, they feel incredibly slim and lightweight, almost somewhere in that middle ground between actual jeans and leggings. They are definitely high quality and have a really flattering fit, too. My only real gripe is that the legs felt way too short on me. I tend to wear a smaller size, but since I'm quite tall—around 5'9"—it just didn't quite work out. I think I’m missing maybe 4 inches of length to make them perfect.🤣

Hands down, the most colorful thread on all of PŽK, ever 😬
James Cameron's Sanctum (2010) in Movies ·
I wouldn't go so far as to say the movie is actually bad—it’s just... incredibly cliché. It’s certainly watchable enough if you have some time to kill, I suppose, but there isn't really anything particularly special about it.

"Not right" isn't quite the right way to put it... I’d go as far as saying it was downright rude. When asked for his sources, he basically just admitted he didn't have any.🙄
Case 39 (2009) in Movies ·
So, I took a look. It’s definitely not some absolute masterpiece—I think > already made that point quite clearly—but it isn't bad at all, and I’d honestly still say it's worth a watch. If you’re looking for similarities to Orphan, I suppose it’s that whole trope of a young girl who isn't quite what she appears to be at first glance. However, whereas I felt Orphan leaned much more heavily into being a straight thriller, this one seems to weave in those supernatural elements as well. Anyway, give it a shot; you won't regret 👍

I just finished watching the trailer, and I was wondering if anyone else here has had a chance to see the full thing yet? If you have, please let me know if it’s actually worth my time—I’d really love to avoid downloading it if it's going to be a total letdown 😉
Donna Wood52 said:Well, I suppose I’m just being provocative because, frankly, I feel provoked myself—it’s a bit of a cycle, isn't it? But honestly, when I reach out to the moderators to report this kind of harassment, it feels like my messages just vanish into a void. There’s absolutely no response at all, which—I guess you could say—is a bit of a problem.
It really feels like there's a massive double standard at play here—I mean, it’s almost funny if it weren't so frustrating. When a bunch of you decide to stir the pot or throw out those constant provocations (and let's be honest, more than a few of you are doing it quite a bit), everyone just shrugs it off like it's perfectly fine. But the second I decide to actually stand my ground and voice my own opinion? Suddenly, it’s a free-for-all. It feels like everyone jumps in to attack me the moment I say what's on my mind—it’s just... well, it's exhausting, I guess.

Take a look at this thread—it’s honestly all over the place. I mean, I post a single photo of myself and suddenly everyone jumps down my throat immediately. It’s wild how quickly people turn on you... I guess there really is a massive difference between just having a conversation and actually leaving a comment, isn't there?
It’s always that immediate instinct to go straight for the insults—honestly, it’s exhausting. I guess I have to admit that I haven't exactly been a saint in this regard either; there were definitely times when I was the first one to throw a jab if I felt like someone had slighted me first. It becomes this sort of reflexive thing, doesn't it? You feel insulted, so you strike back just as hard to protect yourself. But looking back, that cycle of being the first to belittle someone else just because they caught you off guard... well, it isn't exactly my proudest way of handling things.

Kyle King4—listen, you’ve basically become my entire profile picture on this forum now... I mean, I could honestly just take that image over to this thread right this second and post it. Don't even try to deny it.

Melpy, I really don't have the energy to get into a heated debate with you—honestly, it just isn't worth it. But let’s be real here: when you start posting fake images—you know, where you’re actually using other people's faces—and then someone goes along with it, claiming that the woman in the photo is actually the wife of some major celebrity or whatever... well, you're basically just handing people a reason to mock you. I don't quite grasp what the motivation is behind this, I really don't, but it comes across as incredibly unserious—and, frankly, it’s a direct violation of the forum rules.
Look, I’m not saying you shouldn't mind if someone insults you—especially since you mentioned earlier that only people with deep-seated insecurities bother to comment on your life anyway. But, I never once suggested anything about your weight, your looks, or your body type—none of that stuff. It feels like you're jumping to conclusions here, though, making these massive, sweeping generalizations that just don't seem to fit the actual conversation.
Look, I think there’s been a bit of a misunderstanding—Kyle King4 just took my post from the trash folder and moved it over to that other PDF. To be honest, I intentionally left it out of there specifically because that section tends to get way more commentary than others, and I wanted to avoid the extra noise. I really had nothing to do with how things were posted in the Miscellaneous section (or whatever they're calling it these days), though I suppose I am the one who actually sent you that link on the forum in the first place—not Kyle King4. Really, anyone could have done what she did since that link was already sitting right there on the forum for everyone to see. As for why she decided to move it? I honestly haven't a clue, and frankly, it’s not really my business.
Honestly, I don’t really have the heart to keep writing this—not that there’s anything wrong with you, per se—but I just have much more important things to attend to right now. Also, if you somehow felt that I was personally attacking your appearance or... well, whatever it was... please accept my apologies. In any case... take care. 🙂
Donna Wood52 said:What nonsense! Everyone has every right to start their own threads—"hey, you guys should start topics too"—but people aren't actually attacking you for it. Are they?
Let’s be honest, you're all just picking on me because you're constantly insulting and belittling me—mostly because you are all, well, a thousand times more
insecure than I am. You just sit here on this American forum, digging through my old photos from other sites
just so you have ammunition to insult me. Isn't that just pathetic? I think any somewhat mature
adult would realize that what you're doing has absolutely nothing to do with being "objective" or "getting annoyed by certain topics."

Do I love being the center of attention? Maybe. But if those cheap insults didn't bother me, I wouldn't have even started this thread in the first place.

Melpy, there is a massive difference between starting a discussion... and spamming five different threads about the exact same thing in a single day on a site like Reddit. Besides, you admitted yourself that you started one of those threads specifically to provoke people. You've been asked a thousand times to stop recycling the same topics over and over. You could have easily found an existing thread about physical attributes—and believe me, there were plenty of those before you even arrived—and just contributed there, but instead, you prefer to churn out brand new threads with the same subject matter. If a thread gets locked once, you already know that starting another one on the same topic will lead to the exact same result. It works the same way for other users when they post repetitive stuff about anatomy; it gets shut down because it's redundant and everyone is bored of it.
I don't know if you crave the spotlight, but you seem to brag about your body in every single thread, and then you'll drop a photo of your backside in a discussion that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. That might stem from anything—immaturity, a need for validation, or some deep-seated craving for attention—but this isn't the place for it on this forum.
Look, I don't have a problem with you as a person... it's just that I have a problem with you as a user, because you're constantly trolling and baiting people, and then you expect us all to just take it.
Anyway, cheers... feel free to keep acting this way, though I honestly don't think you'll ever truly get it. 😁
dustypuma5 said:I think I’ve already laid out my reasoning regarding all the mockery—if anyone actually wants to understand where I'm coming from, they can just go back and read my previous posts.
As for everything else...
I suppose there are some moderators around here, so maybe they can step in and clarify which specific terms are actually against the rules.

I’m going to bow out now, because honestly, this feels like it’s turning into a personal vendetta against me...
And I see no reason to sit here and defend myself. You all seem to feel the need to, and by attacking me personally, you’re really just proving your point.

No, actually, you're the one attacking us before we even get a chance to respond to you. You specifically called out what I wrote, so if you can spend five or however many posts attacking me while hiding behind "rights" and "regulations," then surely I have the right to fire back with a single response.
dustypuma5 said:I suppose if I were to find a photo of yours, post it, and claim, "Hey, this is Chloe Palmer2," you'd have every right to ask the admins to take it down—and honestly, the administration really ought to comply.
If I'm wrong about that, maybe some admin can set me straight.

But, really, the issue isn't even about those photos as much as it is about how the mods on various sub-forums allow people to mock Melvin using the absolute lowest, most gutter-level language imaginable.
Maybe there aren't specific rules against it, but personally, I find it absolutely revolting.
It reminds me of those kids in school who pick on the weakest kid in class, surrounding them and shoving them around while hurling insults...
Though, I don't know, maybe I'm just being sensitive... perhaps I'm just old-fashioned while you all are being so "progressive"...

The fact that she opens five different threads a day on Reddit is entirely her own fault, because people are genuinely getting fed up with her constant, repetitive rambling about breasts and her weird doctor fetishes. Every single one of those threads basically turns into an excuse for her to provoke others and be insulting—and she’s been asked multiple times to just stop doing it. She's even used fake photos. In fact, that’s actually how I figured out where she was from; she posted a fake picture of another female user from that specific forum, so it was pretty obvious to me she was hanging out over there.
And I don't think anyone is actually bullying her; she seems to thrive on whatever attention she can grab, one way or another. Besides, why on earth would she be posting pictures of her own backside in threads she starts on Reddit?! I've certainly never heard of anyone doing that in the middle of a discussion. If she didn't like the way people treated her, I imagine she would have stopped trolling a long time ago. This forum isn't some private playground, so people CANNOT just open five identical threads every single day and act insulted whenever they feel like it. She's lucky she hasn't been banned ages ago.
Look, I’m actually studying law, so let me try to break down this whole privacy violation thing for you—since, frankly, it seems like you don't quite grasp the concept. Ignorance of the law doesn't excuse the error, right? 😬

Let me give you an example that might be easier to wrap your head around since you aren't a legal expert. Think about how a reporter from the New York Times might take photos of Mirela Rupić that she posted herself on Facebook. Even if she knows exactly who the journalist is, she wouldn't have any actual grounds to sue him. Why? Because she made her own data available to the public. By signing up for Facebook, she essentially agreed to their terms of service. It's the same situation here. By posting her information on that second forum, she agreed to its general terms of use and effectively revealed her identity. Since that forum is a public space, I have every right to link to her photo there because it's no longer considered private data. Okay, maybe it isn't particularly nice or even moral of me—I'll admit that—but it certainly isn't against the rules. If she had sent me her full name and a photo via a private message and *then* I made it public, then her claim would actually have some merit. So, I really, truly am asking you to look up these legal terms before throwing them around in an argument; it honestly sounds a bit embarrassing coming from someone who claims to know what they're talking about 🤣

Secondly... this woman was uploading fake photos to PDF and then deleting them later, yet she never faced any sanctions—even though others have been hit with permanent bans for posting fake photos (like the guy from the stove and plenty of others). She also goes on to open new threads every single day on PDF, calling them "normal" topics, when they are really just about breast sizes, penises, and all sorts of things. This happens on a forum where she's already been asked not to start the exact same threads every single day. On top of that, she insults other users who happen to mention they prefer women with larger breasts by calling them "pubescent," or she attacks women who say they have large breasts by claiming they don't have good bodies otherwise. I realize she probably has her own personal issues to deal with, but this isn't the place to work them out—especially not in such malicious ways, through provocation and all that.

Thirdly... you actually said yourself that you felt sorry for her because she's a lost cause, and then you turned around and laughed at other forum members, so you really aren't in any position to comment on this situation.

Thanks for reading, and goodbye 👋
500 Days of Summer (2009) in Movies ·
I watched this one yesterday with my partner—it wasn't exactly a bad movie, but I think I went in with much higher Expectations, so maybe that’s why I felt a bit let down. Our friends had recommended it and they were absolutely raving about it, so I guess I just built up too much anticipation 😬 It was Nelo enough to pass the time, I suppose, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again 🙂
David Price5 said:To be honest, I was actually referring to the whole thread—I just happened to quote you specifically :-D. I'm really glad you think Drag is good, too! Have you seen Slither or Feast yet?

Well, fair enough... I just thought you were directed that at me 😬 Generally speaking, I have this habit of trying to go into everything without any preconceived notions, though I usually end up being wrong if I read that a movie is supposedly "amazing"—that’s when the disappointment hits hardest. Drag was actually quite fun; I saw it in the theater, and I guess some parts genuinely spooked me while others gave me a good laugh. As for Trick or Treat, it wasn't quite as funny, but it still had those moments that really hit my specific sense of humor (SPOILER: like when that girl everyone used to pick on turns out to be the badass who leaves them all face-down in the dirt 😬 or the father and son carving out their heads instead of a pumpkin)—though there were definitely scenes that felt a bit tedious or over-the-top (SPOILER: for instance, the werewolf bit felt a little played out to me).
I haven't checked out those two you mentioned because I'm actually just starting to discover this genre, but I've watched so many horror movies over the last year that I've realized it's probably my absolute favorite. I'm actually about to settle in to watch two horror films I picked out, so I'll leave you to it! 🙂
David Price5 said:but the issue here—if I can even call it that—is that it’s already been established that you don't like those kinds of movies (horror comedies). Once you make a statement like that, your opinion kind of loses its objectivity—you know, it becomes hard to tell if the movie is actually bad or if you just dislike the genre itself. Personally, I don't really care for sports video games, so I don't play them, but I certainly don't go around bashing them...

Did I ever actually say the movie was bad? Not at all. I just mentioned that I found it fun, even though I generally prefer straight-up scary horror films. So, within that specific genre (which isn't exactly my favorite, though I think I can still form an objective opinion on a film), I’d say it was a good movie. I wasn't exactly blown away, though—for instance, I had a much better time watching drag me to Hell🙂
I mean, I actually enjoy watching movies on my own and forming my own conclusions—is there anything wrong with that? 😬 It’s really just a case of a hundred different people having a hundred different tastes... it's pretty obvious you can't make one film that everyone is going to love. 🙂 I never said the movie was bad, far from it... it just feels more like a comedy than an actual horror flick to me, and honestly, I find it kind of funny (which isn't my thing, since comedies are mostly just something I watch to kill time 😬).
David Price5 said:I mean, if you really want me to dive into it—how exactly the film manages to capture that specific feeling—I suppose it comes down to the atmosphere. The reason it's good is , because IT truly captures The essence of Halloween. It isn't just about the jumpscares or the gore, which can sometimes feel a bit cheap, but rather that creeping sense of dread that settles in your stomach when the sun goes down. It's All about being a Kid on Halloween and hearing urban legends , and following Halloween traditions. You know that feeling? That mixture of being absolutely terrified but also being completely unable to look away? The movie taps into that exact nostalgia—that childhood sensation where every shadow looks like a monster and every creak in the floorboards feels like something is watching you. It leans into those old stories we used to whisper about around campfires, making the terror feel almost... personal. For the rest of us who love Halloween, it hits that sweet spot between genuine fear and that festive, spooky excitement we all crave. Man, what a total drag that holiday was.I still can't quite wrap my head around why people are complaining so much about *Trick 'r Treat*. To me, it’s just a classic slasher—*Halloween* is the gold standard for that genre, after all. *Trick 'r Treat* feels more like a horror comedy, almost an omnibus tribute to other great horror films. I guess some people just don't get the vibe, but for me, it works.

I suppose I should clarify what I meant by my previous post... For me, personally, Halloween carries this inherently scary vibe—it’s just how I feel about the holiday—and because of that, I think this movie actually does a better job of capturing the true essence of Halloween. As for *Trick or Treat*, I didn't really view it as a film intended to actually terrify you; more like a bit of a joke or a lighthearted romp. Since I'm not particularly fond of horror comedies—the kind like *drag me to Hell*, for instance—this was actually a decent way to kill some time. It was fun enough, I guess, but I wasn't exactly blown away by it since it doesn't quite hit those specific horror notes I usually look for. I hope that makes more sense! 🙂
David Price5 said:Those two movies really only share one thing—they both take place during Halloween—and honestly, that’s about it (though, to be fair, there are some nods to the holiday, like how the opening scene shows a couple...). So, here's a simple question: which film actually does a better job of capturing the true spirit of Halloween?

Well, obviously the 1978 version of Halloween. I mean, Trick or Treat was clearly made more as a bit of a joke, so I don't really take it seriously compared to that first masterpiece. And I have no idea why anyone would think the newer remake from 2007 is any better than the original—to me, that new one was just total garbage 🤷 It wasn't interesting, it wasn't fun, I could barely even sit through it... I probably wouldn't have even bothered if I hadn't already been stuck in the theater 😬
I don't have such an awful opinion of that movie, to be honest 🙂 It didn't exactly blow my mind—it wasn't exactly a masterpiece—but I suppose it's fine if you just need something to kill some time 😁 Obviously, the original Halloween (1978) is better, but this is definitely an improvement over the most recent Halloween release (if I recall correctly, I haven't seen a horror flick quite that bad 🤣).
