velvetmarlin26 said:I skipped over the section regarding abortion.😢

I think she mentioned it’s not even worth bringing up—and honestly, fair enough—but I still wanted to jump in and say that personally, I’d never be the type to preach at someone or judge them for their choices. Not even a little bit. Everyone's got their own path, right?
Bringing a child into this world is easily the greatest wealth anyone can ever acquire,
but choosing abortion—man, that’s probably the heaviest, darkest decision a woman could ever be forced to face.

Look, regardless of how you slice it, I’m not here to push anyone toward one side or the other, and I sure as hell am not here to judge. If it were someone close to me—someone I actually cared about—I’d just try to help them work through the questions (assuming I even have any answers) and give them my full support, letting them know I’ve got their back no matter what they decide.

At the end of the day, I truly hope briskbadger11 has everything she needs to make whatever choice she makes, and that none of it ends up weighing her down.

Honestly, mixing different meds like that isn't a smart move. You’re better off just taking one stronger pill or, better yet, seeing an OB-GYN for a full workup—they can hook you up with actual contraception or whatever specific med you need once they figure out what's actually causing the issue.

For me, I’ve been relying on Advil Dual Action for years. My cycle is pretty predictable, so I usually manage to pop a pill (maybe half a day or a full day before things get messy) which is huge—one doctor actually emphasized how vital that timing is. If you wait until the cramps are already hitting you, it takes forever for the stuff to kick in. Now, with Advil Dual Action, you aren't supposed to go over two a day with 12 hours between them—and look, sometimes I end up shortening that gap because the relief wears off after about 8 or 10 hours—but I try my absolute hardest not to blow past the recommended dose, no matter how much it sucks.

Also, I heard through the grapevine that raspberry leaf tea can help with cramps. Apparently, you have to drink it consistently for a whole month, and it might take at least three months before you even notice a difference—so don't expect a miracle overnight. Once I give it a real shot, I'll let you guys know if it actually works.

Oh, and yeah—exercise helps too. During those months when I’m actually hitting the gym regularly, things feel way more manageable.

You seriously think you can just wing that without a recipe? 😕

Honestly, I’m basically a specialist at slamming my entire body weight onto one tiny little spot—you know, like when you slip barefoot on a wet kitchen tile and your big toe meets a corner of a cabinet, or when a wave wipes you out at the beach and you land right on your foot. Case in point: I once wiped out on some stairs and landed entirely on one (not both, just one!) butt cheek. I couldn't sit down for days. If I were any older, I’d probably be living in a cast.😁

And then there's my ridiculous, half-rusted toenail clippers. I’m constantly nicking myself, yet I can't bring myself to buy new ones (I honestly don't know how they got this rusty—they're Solingen, $27, tiny little things...).

Btw, when am I actually supposed to get a tetanus shot? Last time was... I think... back in high school? I’m really not feeling it—my phobia of needles is getting worse by the day—but then again... better safe than sorry, I guess.

Those clippers sound just like mine, though mine haven't given me any trouble yet.

But since you brought up tetanus, I was actually just listing off all the reasons my partner had to get me vaccinated the other day. My best story is from when I was practicing for the Olympics opening ceremonies; I was sitting on a bench, the wood gave way, and I ended up landing right on a rusty nail. 🤣

Thank God the mod renamed this thing... because let's be real, I'm getting zero actual medical advice for my pounding headache here...

Seriously though, how are you feeling? I literally wrote a whole deep-dive post just for you. Look, I'm no doctor or anything, but I shared everything I know. Talk about ungrateful! 🤦 :clutchingtableandfaintingunconsciously: :grabbingthetableclothandflippingalltheplatesonit: from: 🤣
lonebear3 said:Just asking out of curiosity—is anyone else dealing with issues with their peripheral vision, or just seeing things blurry in general?

After a string of ridiculous accidents, a family member of mine went in for a routine checkup and found out they have actual tunnel vision. Basically, they can't register anything below knee level or anything off to the side.

I’m talking constant shoulder hits against doorframes, slamming elbows into coffee tables—the usual clumsy stuff.

Yeah, I definitely do. It's constant. Honestly, though, it feels more like I see everything fine, I just suck at judging how far away things actually are.
jadesailor14 said:Nah, I don't think she's to blame either—it’s just bad luck they were together and she ended up getting sent back home 🤣
if she'd actually pushed her, well, that would be a whole different level of trouble 🙂

But honestly? I always felt like it was on me—like I just didn't watch her closely enough. My grandparents weren't the type to go off on me, but they definitely gave me that look... you know, that "how on earth could she trip right next to you?" kind of stare. 😢
jadesailor14 said:she somehow pulls off everything that other people totally 😁
but man, she looked like she’d gone ten rounds with a heavyweight—if I hadn't been there with her, I wouldn't have even believed she was actually older

Did the older one get tongue-lashed or something? My little sister had her worst run-ins with injuries when she was hanging out with me😲

p.s. you changed the title 😘
amberheron62 said:Look, I play some pretty high-risk sports, so getting banged up is just part of the deal—but my absolute favorites? The ones that make me want to crawl under a rock because they’re too embarrassing to admit. Like, slamming my entire butt into the bathtub (I honestly thought I was the only one... 😍), catching the trunk lid right on the bridge of my nose, getting smacked on the head by a falling window on an old subway car, tripping over my own dog, or basically face-planting down the stairs... My future daughter is going to be constantly competing with me to see who can rack up more bruises and scratches. 😍

Personally, I once slammed a car door shut directly on my thumb—yeah, I actually closed it all the way 😲 . Luckily, it was just a nasty bruise, but I lost a nail. Fast forward to now: we have this fancy car with those sliding rear doors, and since I’m the type who always has to peek in the back to see if anything’s left behind, I told him I’m probably gonna end up getting guillotined by them one day. 🤣

(That whole thing with the subway window doesn't count as being clumsy, though—that's just straight-up bad luck. 😘 )
Back when I was a chunky 25-year-old, I actually sprinted toward the front door of my house and managed to plow straight through the "shatterproof" glass panel—hands, knees, everything. I absolutely wrecked myself like a total idiot. 🤣

And then there’s today—just rushing to grab my phone and ending up slamming the receiver right into my hip. 🤣

Honestly, the only reason I’m still standing is because I finally realized how much of a klutz I am. Now I do everything at half-speed just to compensate, so if I do manage to crash into something, at least it doesn't leave me in a body cast. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Red bumps or rashes on my skin? in Health ·
Honestly, if I were her, I'd tell her to just go see a dermatologist—or at least show those spots to her primary care doctor first. Trying to play doctor yourself with stuff like this? It’s a total shot in the dark and you're probably just gonna miss the mark.

Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
I’m gonna call my OB-GYN tomorrow, but in the meantime, I’m looking for some advice from any ladies who’ve dealt with this... So, for the last five months, my period has been showing up around the 14th of the month. Everything was going according to plan, and I scheduled my big summer vacation for August 4th through the 13th. But this month? It’s hitting me on the 10th. 😵
Now I’m low-key spiraling thinking it’s going to wreck my trip—especially if it decides to "jump the gun" again next month. Usually, my cycle is pretty steady at about 30-31 days.

Has anyone here ever taken hormones to push things back (under a doctor's orders, obviously)? Or should I just suck it up and risk it? Because honestly, being stuck in bed for even two days of my vacation is a total non-starter for me.

Thanks!
Gary Miller61 said:Cheers from a fellow klutz 👋

I once wiped out from about three feet up and managed to dodge some real nasty injuries by basically smacking my skull right into a metal pipe (you know, that classic hollow *thud* 😳 ). I actually rocked the massive bump on my head like a badge of honor for a long time after that 😵

It’s honestly wild how your head can act like a sacrificial lamb just to protect the rest of your body—taking the brunt of the hit so you don't end up in a wheelchair 😬

@jadesailor14/">@@jadesailor14, I totally blanked on the whole washbasin thing. Good 👍

Come on, people—unless we're looking at some total apocalypse in the next few decades, let’s focus on some actual useful survival tips for THIS summer.

Thanks! 🙏
Hey, first off—congrats on being an absolute klutz, girl. 🙂

You totally reminded me of the time I tried to wash my hair—I was leaning way over the tub, head upside down and everything—anyway, I’m heading toward the tub, getting ready to flip my hair over, and *bam*—I smash my forehead right into the porcelain rim 😲

There was this sickening crunching sound, and my immediate thought was, "Well, I just cracked my skull open and I'm probably gonna die by accident one day." 🤣

Long story short, I survived that round, but it hasn't stopped me (or taught me a single thing) from still slamming—mostly my face—into every corner, edge, doorframe, cabinet, and window that happens to be in my path. 🤣

Hope you get what I'm saying here. You aren't alone in this struggle. 😉

As for your head—if you didn't pass out, and honestly, you seem to be talking (typing) pretty normally, it's likely nothing major. Unless you made a massive hole that's bleeding like crazy or staying wide open, it shouldn't be a huge deal, so don't panic.

It hurts? Yeah, obviously. You hit yourself hard, and on a sharp edge at that. Just take some light OTC stuff like Tylenol.

Don't go smothering it with bandages; let the wound "breathe" and dry out. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't gaping or leaking anything weird.

Don't bother rushing to the ER, but maybe give your primary care doctor a call tomorrow and tell them what happened. That's your actual doctor—the one who's supposed to look out for you—whereas everyone else at those big hospitals usually couldn't care less.

Good luck 😘

Hopefully, you'll get some more professional advice than my rambling. This was just a friendly heads-up.
