Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Nathan Gomez8 said:🤔 How can I tell if a clot is actually what's causing the pain? What does that kind of pain feel like?

I am just looking into this so I don't end up 😁

On another note, I feel like I've gained weight from taking Trinovum, much like I did with Triquilar. It looks like I will have to switch birth control pills again. 🙄

When I started getting cramps in my calves while taking certain pills, my doctor told me to stop taking them immediately because of potential issues. He even suggested I take some sort of "blood thinner"—if I remember correctly—as a preventative measure.

In my opinion, infertility isn't strictly a gynecological issue; I’d argue it’s more of a mental health concern.

Honestly, you should probably see a doctor before everyone starts flooding you with "well-meaning" advice, since there are so many variables at play here.
- How regular has your cycle been?
- Has it ever been delayed this much before?
- Are you feeling physically okay otherwise?
Since you've missed nearly six months, I can tell you from experience that this happened to me during my first couple of years, so there's a good chance everything is perfectly fine given you're only 15 and used protection. It’s highly unlikely you're pregnant, though there's always that small chance things weren't handled perfectly even with a condom—but let's hope you were being careful.
At the end of the day, only a medical professional can give you a definitive answer.

By the way, have you had any unprotected encounters since September, or was that just back in May?

gentlemarlin9 said:So, I'm 15 and haven't had my period in 9 months.
I had sex for the first time back in May,
but then I still got my periods in July, August, and September.
Since then, nothing.
What could be going on??

Ever since you started your cycle, it usually takes about two years for everything to settle down and find a steady rhythm.

Around here, we typically use IUDs that last about three to five years at most. The Mirena is definitely the go-to choice; nobody really touches the basic ones anymore. In fact, word on the street is that Mirena is the top pick for women over 35.
Even the smallest gynecological issue can be quite unsettling...
This isn't really a gynecological issue; I'm referring you over to primary care instead.

Is there actually any glimmer of hope for getting rid of this cellulite? It seems to have arrived as an uninvited gift along with my Yasmin prescription (I used to have almost none, if we’re being honest)😳 😁
For starters, I’ve switched over to Logest, but the cellulite isn't budging even an inch...

Exercise is really the only way to tackle cellulite. It’s definitely not an easy fix, but it is possible; if I managed to see results in just a few months of a strict routine, anyone can do it. Staying hydrated helps tremendously too—aim for at least 2 liters of water a day.

What kind of experiences have you all had with Cerazette POP pills?
Robert Cook said:I’m asking because I read this: ''If you start your pill at any other time of your cycle, it will take a week for the contraceptive action to take effect - so you should abstain or use alternative contraception (e.g. condoms) for that first week.''

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

I’ve been digging through various websites and now I’m just totally confused. I’m dealing with a bit of an urgent situation here, and if my period hits right now, things are going to get messy.

Unfortunately, I don't really want to weigh in since gynecological advice can vary so much between places like the UK and the US.
Personally, I wouldn't wait to start them, but that's just my take. Maybe someone a bit more knowledgeable will jump in online and give you some advice based on their own experience.
Robert Cook said:Hey, can I start taking birth control even if I'm not on my period right now? I haven't been on them for over a month, so I'm wondering—do I strictly have to wait until day one of my cycle, or is there another way to start?🤷😕

From what I understand, you generally have to wait for the first day of your cycle.
Birth control and pregnancy risks in Women's Health ·
Rachel Morales said:I’m not sure if anyone here knows this, but I figured it was worth asking. I’m currently taking Diane 35, and since I had a UTI, I’ve been taking some Nirvana as well. I know antibiotics can lower the effectiveness of birth control, but it doesn't specify if this particular one counts. Does anyone have any insight on this? We’re using condoms, but we’re still a little nervous about the possibility of pregnancy.

In the US, the standard advice is that if you're on antibiotics, you should automatically use condoms along with your pills for that month, regardless of which type you're taking.
I'm not entirely sure if that's the universal rule everywhere else, though.
Mary, please make sure you read the 'REQUIRED' section carefully; thank you. I think once you go through it, the errors will become clear to you, though keep in mind this PDF focuses more on gynecological health rather than general wellness.
Female sterilization: What are your thoughts? in Women's Health ·
Reversing doesn't come with any guarantees that the outcome will be positive; it really depends on how much time has passed since the initial tubal ligation. There’s also an increased risk of the pregnancy not making it all the way to 40 weeks. I actually picked this up by chance while working in OB/GYN a few months back—I remember one specific patient who tried exactly this to conceive. I'm certainly no medical expert when it comes to the technicalities, but I do know it isn't a decision you make lightly.

Christian Smith6, birth control pills aren't candy, and I'm fairly certain you realize that every single one varies in its hormone dosage. You're playing a dangerous game and being incredibly irresponsible.

Everything follows the exact same cycle, which is why your days are marked like that. For instance, if you started your first package on a Monday, every subsequent package will kick off on a Monday too. It’s pretty straightforward—you just follow the weekly rotation from Monday through Sunday until you hit the end of the cycle, at which point there’s a seven-day break before that Monday rolls around to start a fresh set.

There is a massive difference between answering a woman's legitimate question and simply being argumentative, isn't there? I don't see why you'd get a penalty for a little bit of banter—provided, of course, it doesn't become a regular habit.
