How long did it take you to plan your career change? in Women's Health ·
My first pregnancy happened during my second month of trying. My second one? It happened instantly, right on that one specific day. We had been using an app to track our fertile window, and just for kicks, we decided to use protection for the rest of our cycle after those days passed. Well, I ended up pregnant anyway.
Help! Period emergency! in Women's Health ·
Sandra Carter77 said:Exactly. You guys have all been so helpful, and I really appreciate the advice. I’ve decided to see my OB-GYN, but unfortunately, I can't get an appointment until Tuesday... ugh...

Are you seriously saying there's a nine-day window where a tampon could just be sitting inside you??
After seeing a doctor, maybe go see a therapist too... sorry if that sounds harsh... but reading that was even harsher.

If that happened to me (though the chances are zero since I don't drink... but whatever)... I would grab my car keys this very second and head straight to the ER. Toxic shock syndrome or who knows what else... I would never take that risk.
What is happening to me? in Women's Health ·
Carol Brooks41... if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Honestly, I’d probably just hold off on any pills until you get through this upcoming cycle and the next one, just to give your body some breathing room to reset. As for that increased libido? If that's your only side effect, I highly doubt your partner is going to complain! hehe
The test came back negative, so at least you have that peace of mind. Everything else will settle down once your system recovers. Until then, stick to condoms.
Female vs. male OB-GYNs: Any preferences? in Women's Health ·
I don't really have a specific preference... I've tried both options and was thoroughly impressed with either choice.

Desirée - she's one of those people who is always there to lend a hand whenever you need it. If you reach out via DM—well, actually, if you just reach out generally—she's incredibly responsive and does so much to keep this whole forum running smoothly and feeling stable.

Kika - there's just something about her that makes her special.

I know Malena personally.
Regarding Desiree... I couldn't agree more.
And Kika? She's absolute top-tier.👍

That’s exactly why I feel this thread has run its course. What does everyone else think... is it time to wrap this one up?

Ashley Reed said:They told me I don't have PCOS,🤷
But I'm still terrified about whether I'll ever be able to have children—that’s honestly my biggest fear. Every doctor I've seen tries to reassure me that there's nothing to worry about, but how am I supposed to just turn off that anxiety?😢
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of uncertainty and managed to conceive naturally and go on to have healthy babies?

I'm not sure if this helps, but here goes...
My sister struggled with PCOS and a whole host of other issues, yet she has two beautiful, healthy kids born completely naturally without any medical intervention.
Then there's a close friend of mine who also dealt with PCOS and major irregularities—she was lucky if she even had a period twice a year—but she has three healthy children now (the third via IVF). In short, there is plenty of reason to be hopeful.
Both of them were just as scared as you are that they might never become mothers, but I know exactly how heavy that weight feels.
To be honest, this whole fairy tale was so intriguing that I actually found myself digging through her other posts on the forum.
There really are only two possibilities here... she’s either lying or she’s mentally unstable.
I’m leaning toward the first option; if she weren't making it up, she would have at least tried to argue her nonsense with some actual points.☕
goldeneagle5 said:So, I’m sitting here wondering—what are actually my chances of getting pregnant right now?! Like, my fertile window is supposed to start today, but even before that (I'm talking about those days leading up to the peak), my guy and I have been sleeping together without any protection because, duh, we're trying for a baby... and then today we did it again, totally unprotected, and he finished inside me... I mean, obviously, I know there's a chance I could conceive, and honestly, a pretty big one, but we've done this exact same thing before and I haven't gotten pregnant yet... can anyone actually give me a straight answer here??? We really, really want this baby, but now I'm low-key freaking out that it might be a struggle since we didn't make it happen 😢
p.s. my mom was telling me how it took her three whole years to finally "make" me, so now I'm just spiraling 🙂

Honey...give me a break, I thought we explained all of this quite clearly to you 😢
For your own sake, I truly hope it takes you three years... not because I'm being mean—not at all—but because you are just a young girl dealing with so much trauma in your life... and believe me, you aren't ready to bring a child into this world yet. I don't mean that in a bad way, but you already have enough unresolved chaos in your life without adding a little human being that I'm sure you'll love more than anything else... why the rush?
Get everything else sorted out first. You need to find some inner peace and work through your problems so you can approach parenthood with a clear head
Trust me, your child will thank you for it 👍
C-section: Questions and potential complications... in Women's Health ·
I didn't apply any treatments at all... nor was that ever suggested to me. They simply advised me to make sure I wasn't wearing any underwear with an elastic band that might press against the scar. But since the scar was positioned so low and was such a tiny area, that just wasn't an issue. Now, it's almost completely gone—though keep in mind, that was twelve years ago.

shadowtinker21 said:What do you mean? How did you manage to fix it? I mean, what else could it be besides a cyst? Honestly, I have no clue—how do those things even form? Does a pore get clogged or something?

Well, in my case... it was right under my armpit. For the longest time, I actually thought it was just an ingrown hair. It hurt like crazy; I couldn't even touch it without everything getting inflamed and draining. It was a nightmare because it was growing internally and I didn't realize it until it suddenly just... vanished on its own. Now, all I'm left with is a large scar.

But that doesn't mean your situation is identical. You should probably head to a doctor just to be safe.

So, about two weeks ago, I developed this painful bump right on my bikini line—exactly where my underwear edge sits—and it’s been incredibly uncomfortable. I’ve had to keep a bandage on it just to be able to walk normally. It seems to go away for a bit, but then it starts draining—maybe pus, maybe blood—and then it just settles down until it swells up again. It feels really hard and inflamed. What could this be? More importantly, how do I get rid of it?! It's starting to seriously impact my daily life. My gynecologist can't see me until April 25th. Do you think it might just be an ingrown hair or something... ugh...🤷 oh boy...

That sounds a lot like a cyst I once dealt with under my armpit...
Birth control pills: yes or no?? in Women's Health ·
I’ve been doing some deep reading on this... but honestly, the idea that birth control alters your personality like some people claim? Sorry ladies, but those are just fairy tales.
I actually conceived exactly when I planned to right after I stopped taking my pills. Thank God my kids are healthy and thriving. As for this nonsense about birth control causing behavioral issues... tell that person they need to see a psychiatrist immediately. Their mental state concerns me far more than any hormone!
I totally get why women worry, especially if they aren't well-versed in how these things work, but this kind of exaggeration is completely unnecessary. At this rate, we'll be claiming the air itself is toxic next.
Metallica's new album in Music ·
Personally, I think they're alright... but they aren't my only go-to. Were they much better back in the day? Without a doubt!
It’s one of those passions that stuck with me since I was younger, so naturally, I'll pick up the new CD since I collect everything else they put out. Still, looking at some of these comments, I can see why some people aren't exactly fans anymore. Honestly, I feel like it might be time for them to hang it up and just enjoy their legacy. I'm more than happy to hand the stage over to a younger generation that actually has the capacity to create something fresh and original.
