I don’t know why Sebastian Vettel keeps reminiscing about those V12 engines. If he actually tried driving a car with an engine like that today instead of these modern hybrids, it would probably blow up every third race rather than just once every two years.
Sebastian Vettel isn't going to let him pass unless he actually overtakes him on the track or shows he's clearly faster... he's just built that way, just look back at Multi 21.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here, but looking at the big picture, Ferrari has the best car this season. If they haven't walked away with four or five more wins in the first ten races, you can only blame it on their drivers' lack of execution.

Nico Rosberg actually beat Lewis Hamilton pretty convincingly in qualifying during the 2014 season, it just didn't help him much in the end...
In 2014, it was Rosberg with 11 pole positions versus Hamilton with 7, making it 12 to 7 overall...

I think Vettel and Charles Leclerc have a ratio around 8 to 6 or maybe 9 to 6...
We'll see how things shake out by the end of the season, but it definitely won't be anything significantly worse than 12 vs 7...

But Hamilton wasn't a multi-time champion back in 2014.
Hamilton would likely enjoy the same points advantage over the field in that Ferrari as he currently does in his Mercedes.

Hehe, someone’s acting a little indignant here.

So, you little fanboys think our hero is just playing dirty, huh?

Exactly. Like Juan Pablo Montoya once said, you have to be blind or completely clueless not to know where your opponent is on the track at any given moment. The guy made a mistake and intentionally swung back to block Lewis Hamilton, and since the stewards ruled it an illegal move, that's the end of the story for me.

Just a few clowns on here.

Another one claiming they "didn't see" the opponent. Both are German, using the exact same excuses, and it’s clearly just straight-up lying.

Yeah, exactly. Back in the day, this probably wouldn't have been penalized at all, but his whole "I didn't see him" excuse is just hilarious because it's obvious he saw him—that’s clearly why he closed the door on him. The penalty feels a bit harsh, but honestly, it's totally fair.
It looks like that slight rear wing adjustment and the simplified front wing have really played into Mercedes' hands, boosting their car's performance significantly. It seems almost too easy for them to sweep up every race this season. I'm just wondering, though—if the regulations don't change at all for 2020, can we actually expect anything different next year?
Ferrari should be solid here. I won't go as far as saying they’re a lock for a 1-2 in qualifying, but there's definitely a real shot at it. The oddsmakers aren't exactly betting on them right now, mostly because they're looking at recent race results rather than how this specific track layout suits their setup—which it absolutely does. That said, you can never count out those "experts" on the Ferrari pit wall or drivers who can find ways to throw away a massive advantage...

It would be a whole lot easier for all of us to stomach Vettel if he only had those 2011 and 2013 titles that felt inevitable.

But it wasn't just those two...

We have to deal with all four, because unfortunately, there wasn't anyone competent enough to stop him back in 2010 and 2012.

That loudmouth who kept repeating
"Petrov-Rosberg, Petrov-Rosberg" all winter long after 2010 did more damage to Sebastian Vettel's reputation than anything else.

I think you phrased that a bit wrong. It's not that nobody was competent enough to take his titles away, it's that he wasn't quite competent enough to clinch them with a car like that a few races before the end—which is what realistically should have happened.
Pros and Cons of Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 ·
After Michael Schumacher walked away, I didn't really have a favorite. Even before Vettel started collecting championships, I always felt like everyone else actually earned theirs, whereas with Vettel, I never quite got that feeling. During those years, I just had this nagging sense that he was winning solely because he had a dominant car and because the team clearly favored him over his teammate. I knew that eventually, the truth would come out, and here we are. The reality is that he’s an average driver who happened to be in the right place at the right time—he almost even threw away two titles because of his own mistakes. He can only win when he's sitting in the absolute fastest car on the grid and when his teammates are basically past their prime. Honestly, his career is pretty much done; it would probably be best if he called it quits after this season before things get even worse. In my eyes, his titles don't really carry any weight, and I still believe there are drivers who never even had a shot at a championship who are better than him. But that's just how it turned out. Adrian Newey... this Vettel has 4 titles, so there's really nothing more to say about it.

Ugh, I am so done with these ads. I'm never watching anything on that garbage again.

Lewis Hamilton is going to blast straight into first place before he even hits the first turn, and after that, it'll just be a smooth cruise to the finish.
Sebastian Vettel seems completely shaken, and you can really tell he's feeling the pressure. If he doesn't beat Charles Leclerc today, I honestly think his career is over.
I told you guys Sebastian Vettel's odds would drop to 2.5. Ferrari is the favorite right now, but since the gap wasn't that huge last year, we could see a similar situation unfolding this season...
DraftKings is offering odds as high as 4.0 for Vettel to take pole, which feels totally unrealistic to me. They’re basing their predictions on Australia, but that track isn't really representative of what we'll see here. I honestly think this is worth a shot because the battle between Vettel and Hamilton is going to be intense, and those odds will probably plummet to 2.5 for Vettel after just the first two practice sessions.
My prediction:

Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas

Ricciardo knows his value, and it's obvious he isn't falling for that old line Eddie Irvine used to say—that being the number two driver at Ferrari is better than being number one anywhere else. Let's be real: if Red Bull actually had a championship-winning car, it’s crystal clear they would prioritize Max just like we all saw coming years ago.
