The balance between peak performance and personal health in Hobbies & Leisure ·
I was thinking about this today while watching some highlights. We always see these athletes as these indestructible machines, almost like they're built differently than the rest of us. We get so caught up in the "grind" and the "no days off" mentality that we completely forget they're still just human beings with biological realities that can't be ignored.

It's easy to get frustrated when a key player is sidelined or missing from the lineup, especially during a big stretch of the season. You start thinking about the strategy, the depth chart, and how it affects the momentum. But then you realize that pushing through something serious isn't "toughness"—it's actually just bad math. If you ignore a real physical issue to stay on the field, you're not being a hero; you're just risking a permanent shutdown.

I've had times in my own job where I tried to power through a nagging issue thinking I was being productive, only to end up being out of commission for twice as long because I didn't just stop and address it. It's a hard lesson to learn, especially in high-stakes environments where everyone is watching.

Do you think our culture of "playing through the pain" does more harm than good for long-term success?

But I honestly don't think you can just eat enough to make up for everything you burn off when you're pushing yourself that hard during a workout.

I was actually taking that exact stuff and recommending it myself. 👍

I’m with wearyotter81 on this one—magnesium is the way to go. But don't bother with those cheap effervescent tablets you find at $5.00; you need the higher-quality stuff from a pharmacy. For me, a single course of 300mg magnesium from Dietparam really did the trick.

I just do them whenever they cross my mind 😉 and honestly, I think they're pretty great 😁

Today, I sliced some beef into thin pieces and sautéed them in a little olive oil, then tossed in some mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and diced red bell pepper. I didn't end up seasoning it with anything because it completely slipped my mind. 😬

Should I leave it somewhere warm, cold, in the light, or in the dark?

It doesn't really matter. I once left mine out on the kitchen counter overnight and woke up to sour milk.

For instance, during the summer when it's hot, you can make cheese by putting it in sterile cheesecloth, tying it tight, and hanging it outside in the sun to dry. Then you end up with a hard cheese.

homemade buttermilk😁
For every liter of milk, add two small containers of light cultured milk.
-You need to heat the milk up and let it cool down just a bit. Once it's lukewarm, stir in those two portions of cultured milk. Some people like to add a splash of vinegar to help the process along. I didn't bother with the vinegar this time, and it still curdled perfectly overnight. It was absolute heaven!

homemade vegan cheese😁
Add the cultured milk or yogurt directly into the heated milk right away.
How does a man decide to become an OB-GYN? in Women's Health ·
I honestly find myself whispering "oh my God" under my breath whenever I hear about the negative experiences women have had with their gynecologists.

It wouldn’t be wise to try and play philosopher here. 😛

I apologize for barging in like this. I know some people are going to call me out for posting this, but honestly, the title of this thread—"Help us lose weight"—really bothers me. Why is it phrased in the plural instead of the singular? There are endless discussions about weight loss online, countless websites, and an overwhelming amount of advice available. Yet, most of these threads feel less like "I have a goal, I want to get in shape, here is my plan, please tell me if I'm on the right track," and more like "Show me how to lose weight because I can't be bothered to research everything myself."

I honestly don't see how being depressed has anything to do with whether or not you have a boyfriend 🤷 if, what, every single bachelor out there is depressed?
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Does anyone else deal with leg pain during their period? I can barely sit still in a chair because it feels like the skin on the inside of my thighs is about to split open. And once I try to elevate my legs or lie down, my calves just absolutely kill me. 😢

Can you get Shockwave from a kiss? in Health ·
To put it simply—if you're kissing someone, there's a chance you'll end up being intimate with them too. Not everyone is going to run to the doctor for testing beforehand. A partner might not even realize they're carrying anything, and that’s how unprotected encounters happen.
And honestly, when you're kissing someone, you aren't exactly looking for someone with teeth so decayed it hurts, right?

There’s absolutely no room for this kind of disrespect here. You should be ashamed. 👎there are at least two separate threads on this forum covering everything you're looking for, so I honestly don't understand how you haven't found a specific answer yet
Betty Torres39 said:So, I started taking Logest about six days ago—my very first attempt at birth control pills, which I was hunting for because my period cramps have been absolutely brutal lately. My OB-GYN didn't even bother sending me for any blood work beforehand. But then, starting yesterday, I began feeling these bizarre tingling sensations in my legs. It’s almost like they don't even belong to me. And if I press on them, they actually ache, even though there's zero swelling or anything visible going on.
I was doing some reading online and saw that venous thrombosis can be a side effect of contraceptives. Is it even possible for something like that to kick in that quickly after starting the pill? And honestly, should I be panicking about these symptoms? 🤔
Thanks for any advice you can give.

That’s actually why I stopped taking the pill. It made me feel terrible, like my legs weighed three tons. Fluid would just build up in them, and that was the cause. Even now, after six months without them, unfortunately, the fluid hasn't gone away.
Personal Trainer Recommendations in Ann Arbor in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Aaron Grant5 said:Can anyone recommend a good personal trainer in the Cleveland area? I'm looking for someone to put together a meal plan, walk me through the exercises, and just generally keep an eye on my progress and results. Thanks in advance!

You should try OutFit or that gym near the bowling alley.
