What should I do? in Lonely Hearts ·
And don't you dare be the first one to reach out to him ever again. I mean, you guys even hooked up because you made the move...🙄 The second time, he wasn't even into it.😕 Seriously, start respecting yourself a little more.🙂

It’s honestly better to never have kids at all than to be an abusive parent.👍

Not even close... He showed nothing but total indifference. And honestly, you should be insulted by that.

Look, at that age, they could have explained things to you a lot more civilly.😉

I honestly don't know how I'd handle a situation like that. Then again, I'm not planning on having kids, so it’s not really my concern either.

🤣 Same here. But I wouldn't even lay a finger on a dog, let alone a child...🙂

I definitely wouldn't lay a hand on him. There'd be some appropriate punishment handed down by the courts.😁

Even though everyone’s pushing non-violence like it’s some modern trend, that was never even on my radar before this craze started. Look, I would never lay a hand on my own kid. That's just wrong. It’s honestly mind-blowing that psychologists are only just now catching up to common sense.☕

As for everyone else, feel free to keep hitting your kids if you want... at the end of the day, most people are terrible parents anyway, and these little initiatives aren't going to change a thing.🙄

The only thing you can control is refusing to be like them. I’m not going to come at you the way everyone else did, because honestly, for someone to have any right to act like that, they’d have to be standing exactly where you are right now.
Look, hate is a hell of a motivator. If that’s all you’ve got left, then fine—use it. Keep hating them if it helps you get through the day, but use that spite to actually hit the goals you've set for yourself.

I honestly feel like society is constantly trying to strip away our right to be selfish.🙂
Why do women recognize male faces faster? in Psychology ·

...maybe that's the answer... or maybe it isn't...🙂

When I say they spot men faster, I'm talking about the actual gap in reaction time when identifying male vs. female faces..

The fact is, the phenomenon is real, but nobody has come up with a legit explanation for it yet..

I meant faster than men!🤣
Yeah, I have no clue. I've never even heard of that phenomenon.🤷

redharbor9 said:Look, let me break down how this works..

They show people pictures of faces and they have to guess the gender.. and turns out women are actually faster and more accurate at spotting male faces...

Or is it just that they recognize faces in general faster? Both men and women?

Personally, I don't see it that way.
Most guys don't even register on my radar, whereas I tend to notice women.
Looking back at my college days, I can only name two or three guys from my entire class, but I can pretty much remember almost all the women.🙂
Angela Morgan3 said:Look, I’m not out here discriminating against gay people or anything... I was just trying to point out that even they deal with some level of bias, though honestly, it feels like nothing compared to what people living with schizophrenia go through. It’s like, they can be open about their orientation, but people with schizophrenia? They practically have to hide away in some corner just to get by.
In my opinion, being gay is more of a choice, whereas you don't really get to choose an illness like that.

Neither one is a choice.☕
And frankly, society is just too primitive and narrow-minded to handle either group properly.
This actually reminded me of a specific illness. Alzheimer's. Honestly, compared to that, I’d take any other psychiatric case in my book!🤣

Just picture this: you look at someone you love, and they don't even realize who you are.🙂😱
James Ramirez10 said:I think I could handle someone who's a little eccentric. But honestly, it couldn't be a perfectly "normal" person—would a completely stable person even be interested in being with me?😕🤷

Honestly, I'm not even into those normal types. I've always had a thing for the ones who are a little more unstable.🙂
redharbor9 said:Being gay isn't some choice you just make.

👍 It’s hilarious. One bigot turns around and accuses someone else of being the discriminator!🤣🤣
The fact itself wouldn't even be my issue. It would only be a problem if the illness actually messed with who she is—like if she couldn't function or was having psychotic breaks or whatever. Honestly, if I had already fallen for her, none of that would even matter. At least, that's how I see it.

There are plenty of much worse human traits that would make me cut someone out of the running entirely!
James Allen6 said:That was actually my point—women fought for everything they were supposed to have in the past, and I feel content now. At this stage, I think I can only expect things from myself.
Why struggle constantly, even if there isn't a specific cause left?

Keith Jones76, I agree with you, and I also agree with Graham. I guess you both have some very wise perspectives. 🙂

See, the thing is, some women don't think the current state of women's rights is good or even ideal, which means there are plenty of women who aren't satisfied.
The fact that you personally feel content doesn't change anything. Even back then, there were women who were perfectly happy with how things were.
If people had actually listened to them, we wouldn't have seen any progress at all, and you wouldn't be able to be satisfied today.☕
Hannah White2 said:Look, we definitely shouldn't just brush off the positive impact feminism has had as a movement—honestly, you have to watch out for those tired old clichés, though I’ll admit my own take sits right on that fine line.

It sucks being misunderstood, really. I’m one of those guys who looks people straight in the eye—character is everything to me when I'm sizing someone up—but you can't just ignore raw instinct and pretend we're all in total control of our gut reactions. Like, for example, I haven't even looked at a woman's body in five years, but I did spend some time training myself to stay disciplined.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I’m not saying women are biologically hardwired just to give birth. Quite the opposite, actually; I'm against any kind of limiting labels, regardless of what neurological studies might say. But let's be real—society as a whole still acts like the mother is the primary caregiver, and you don't have to ask a single divorced guy in the States to know that's the vibe. It’s basically one of those rare areas where we face actual discrimination, though, granted, it’s usually justified if you look at the exceptions.

I doubt a divorced man would actually say that. Or rather, he would if he just wanted to get rid of the kid and dump all the responsibility on the mother.☕
Besides, what argument is society considers??? Society thinks all sorts of nonsense is valid.
