Pure genius, Sixto 😲☕
Man, those Swedes image This Black Sabbath-style doom band started back in 2009 and dropped two albums The Seance (2010) and Final Sacrifice (2013). You can really hear the influence of their countrymen like Candlemass, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pentagram, and Diamond Head...

Honestly, they're a solid band.

P. S. Is anyone even following this thread? I don't want to just keep shouting about bands into the void 😕 I mean, I guess a little comment here and there wouldn't hurt anyone. 🙄

Seth Rogen 🙄 nah, nothing to see here 😳
The Swedishmen are back at it again ☕ Their 2013 release, Return to Port Royal, is basically just pure, melodic old-school speed/heavy metal.

So, this American band kicked things off back in 2007. They’ve put out three albums so far: Over The Top (full album) from 2010, Flying Tigers in 2011, and then The Devil's Cut in 2013—which, if you ask me, is easily their best work. Their whole vibe is basically a nod to that New Wave of British Heavy Metal sound, so you're definitely going to hear some heavy Judas Priest and Iron Maiden influences bleeding through.

Man, I totally blanked on DeWolfe for a second there. They’re such an incredible band, 👍
Here we go again with the Swedishmen 😬 and their debut, 🙏World Domination Power & Volume Free fall Attila🙏. If you’re hunting for that authentic 70s hard rock vibe, honestly, stop looking. This record just absolutely shreds. 🙏

Is it just me? I feel like I'm the only one dropping bands here. 🤷 It can't stay like this, 🙂 come on people, start sharing whatever bands you know. 😳
This American band has dropped two albums so far—Mount Carmel (2009) and Real Women (2012)—and honestly, they’re both killer. Their sound kind of pulls from all the heavy hitters, you know? Like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Humble Pie... basically everything that actually matters. 😉

Formed back in 2007 over in Vancouver, this band actually took their name from a Mott the Hoople album (which, by the way, I highly recommend). They’ve put out two albums so far: Mad shadow - Mad shadow (2008) and Mad shadow - heavy blues (2013). Honestly, the second you hear that first note, it’s pretty obvious who they're ripping off, and it's pretty damn obvious too. Still, I guess I have a soft spot for them. Maybe it's just nostalgia, or who knows what else 🤷

Alright, here's a few more picks from Sweden. Like I said before, if you're into those newer bands that basically live and breathe that 70s vibe, you really need to dig into the Swedish scene.

Abra Kadavar - ''Abra Kadavar''

Orchid - Mouths of Madness and man, you can feel Black Sabbath in every single track. Every riff just screams it.

The Devil's Blood - The time of no time Evermore These guys are Dutch, I guess. They might actually pass the test for me, but honestly? Nothing groundbreaking or different there.

Black Pyramid - Black Pyramid (2009) This one is top tier for me. 👍 Their other stuff? Not even half as good, if I'm being real.

Blood of the Sun - ris fra the Underground and Blood of the Sun - bad Love Someone mentioned earlier that you can never get enough of bands that rip off Deep Purple, so here’s an American band, Blood of the Sun. You can definitely hear the Uriah Heep and Humble Pie influence too. I've got three of their albums, and they're pretty solid.

Cosmos - in the dark of the Night These guys are actually kind of cool. Every time I play this album for someone, they think they're listening to some unreleased Pink Floyd tracks. I only have their Skygarden (2006) album, but if you're a fan of the Floyd types, you should probably grab it.
And finally, Witch - Witch (2006) and Witch - Paralyzed (2008) look, these guys are special to me. They're genuinely dear to my heart. I never get tired of them; I could listen to them forever, I guess. 🙏🙏🙏
That's about all I can think of for now.
I’m not really a fan of bands that just try to live in the past through their sound. Don't get me wrong, drawing inspiration from your idols is fine, but this whole thing where they just clone a specific style? It feels like they're just another glorified cover band and nothing more. Take AC/DC, for example—they're basically the blueprint everyone tries to mimic. You've gotta have your own identity and actually move forward, because honestly, who needs yet another carbon copy of AC/DC, Deep Purple, or Black Sabbath? And speaking of clones, here’s another one, this time out of Sweden. I feel like in just the last year or two, I’ve stumbled across maybe 50 different Swedish bands that all lean heavily on that 70s vibe; they all sound pretty much identical, just with tiny little tweaks here and there. These guys specifically are chasing that early British heavy metal sound. So far, they've put out three albums:

Second Assault (full album)

and then there's the new one that just dropped a few days ago, Writing on the Wall

So, basically, Metallica is just dropping more garbage, only they’ve slapped a different wrapper on it this time. 🙄

What did I just watch 😕 Calling this movie "garbage" is honestly being too generous🙂 The entire plot is basically just someone walking through the woods and... that's it. Nothing happens. 🙂
And don't even get me started on the lead actor, I won't even go there👎

Nooooooo 🙂 don't even start with me. That's just not true and I'm straight up refusing to accept it 🙂

Why on earth would Ethan take a role in a flick like this, especially with an even worse cast than this one😕 Seriously, why🙂

Larry Walker24 said:People change. I guess that's just how it goes. It’s one of those things you eventually realize, maybe after getting burned a few too many times. You think you know someone, you think you've got them figured out, and then—bam—they're a completely different person. It’s kind of exhausting, honestly. Everything shifts. People move on, priorities drift, and suddenly the person standing in front of you isn't the same one you met years ago. Maybe it's growth, maybe it's just life wearing people down, but it happens. Every single time.

People just don't change. They really don't. I guess it's just how things are. 🙂 In this case, the only thing actually changing is their taste in music. ☕

Black Sabbath and their classic album Paranoid🙏 Man, when I first heard that thing maybe 14 or 15 years ago, everything just shifted. I remember spinning it for the first time, and once War Pigs kicks in with that siren sound, that heavy doom-doom-doom guitar riff, the massive bass, and those drums... ugh, I’m actually getting goosebumps just typing this. Every single time I put that album on, I get this specific feeling that rises up from my gut right into my chest, oh lord yeah🙂 Going to go blast it right now🙂
