Me too. Again. I haven’t even seen a specialist yet—completely lost track of my nose 😁
I’m planning to visit two or three doctors early next year to see what they have to say... Everyone here keeps posting about their nasal passages being too narrow or elevated, but my situation is actually the exact opposite! My nose has basically collapsed, and the left side feels sunken in while the bottom part is bulging out...?? 🙄
I just really hope there's a way to fix this. Wishing us all the best of luck... 🙂
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Yeah, it’s been constant. Not exactly heavy, but I definitely need to wear pads.😠
It's been three weeks today. A few days before everything started, I had these weird pains in my pelvis—I actually convinced myself it was some kind of bone issue. 🤷
I really should head over to Walgreens, but I just can't seem to get myself out the door.☕
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Ladies, I need some advice. My period has been going on for three weeks straight now. The flow stays exactly the same—it’s not getting heavier or lighter. It isn't particularly heavy, and I'm not dealing with any abdominal pain or anything else. Usually, I don't have major issues; I had one significant "overflow" about 7 or 8 years ago, but after being prescribed Provera back then, everything returned to normal. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any idea what might be causing this? I'm 23.
It’s really dropped significantly after the surgery. It doesn't look terrible per se, but I honestly regret not pushing them to lift it more aggressively. Plus, I still have this lump on the side🙄
Now I’m thinking about seeing someone else entirely—it’s already been a year since the procedure. I’m just terrified of making the same mistake twice!😳
Energy drinks and other "stimulants in Health ·
Has anyone else had bad experiences with energy drinks?
Here’s the situation: last Thursday evening, I had one 0.25L can of BURN. By noon the next day, I started feeling some chest pains. Then, about 24 hours after the drink, my heart suddenly started racing like crazy—my blood pressure spiked, I couldn't catch my breath, my head was spinning, and I was shaking and sweating uncontrollably. I couldn't even speak to explain what was happening to me. It lasted about five minutes before settling down, only to repeat itself four more times over the next hour. I honestly thought I was having a heart attack, so naturally, I ended up in the 🙄 emergency room. The doctor told me it was just a panic attack. Of course, I was too shaken up to process that; I actually thought the doctor was being an idiot—I mean, how could it be panic? I wasn't under any stress... it wasn't until today that I realized I'd downed that stupid BURN the day before (and looking back, I had a similar, though much milder and faster reaction to a guarana pill two years ago).
So, I wanted to ask you all: is it actually possible for that episode to be linked to an energy drink I consumed 24 hours prior??
Well, here we go.
With the first bit of sunshine hitting, I’m looking like a total Pink Panther. Is anyone else dealing with this? How are you all managing this sudden flare-up in March, especially when your dermatologist isn't exactly reachable for creams or prescriptions? 😢
Olivia Gonzalez11 said:My cousin recently had to visit a maxillofacial specialist, Professor Uglešić over at Mayo Clinic, for a revision rhinoplasty. We spent quite a bit of time asking around and doing our due diligence, and almost everyone we spoke to pointed us directly toward him. To be honest, the man truly performed a miracle on her nose; he was able to use some ear cartilage to refine the structure, and now my cousin finally looks like herself again instead of looking like she has a pug's snout.

I’m actually thinking about booking a consultation with him myself. I’ll likely need a "fix" on the left side too—it's a total disaster.
The worst part isn't even the surgery; it's the sheer embarrassment of showing up to see him (or anyone, really). I'm genuinely dreading whatever blunt truth he tells me...😁
I just want this to be the last time I ever have to deal with this...
Hey...
I’m noticing that most of you seem to have had pretty positive experiences with public hospitals!!
It feels like there’s an endless stream of complaints about private healthcare lately.
Or am I just seeing things?🤷
feralridge48 said:Hey everyone... I'm 14... and I have this terrible hooked nose. I actually broke it on some ice when I was little, and now it's like nothing ever happened. Honestly, I feel ugly because of my nose—it's so frustrating. People call me names, boys make comments about how I look, call me a clown, and on top of all that, I have to wear glasses too, which sucks... I really need advice. I want to get surgery as soon as possible, but apparently, that won't be until I'm around 16... My dad said whenever I'm ready to talk about it, he'll look into it and start saving up money and everything. From what I've read so far, I'm not really scared of the procedure itself—my biggest fear is just that it won't turn out right... And I'm mostly wondering if you can actually go at 16, or what age is allowed? Anyway, I live in the Midwest and I definitely don't want to just pick the cheapest option available... Is there a plastic surgeon near the Midwest area... maybe around places like Springfield or maybe Indianapolis? Has anyone here been to a doctor in those areas?😢😢😢

Take your time and browse the forums; read through people's actual experiences. Though, keep in mind that experiences with the same doctor can vary wildly—I'm living proof of that. Everything turned out great for me, but I'm basically an outlier here.😁

You can find almost anything online if you just Google it; there are entire threads dedicated to specific surgeons. Mind you, they aren't exactly located in small towns like Springfield... Chicago is relatively close to the Midwest, so you could drive there, have someone pick you up, wait with you, and bring you back home the same day.
Trusting your surgeon is the most important thing. If you find a doctor you truly connect with, it's better to pay $667 a bit more just to have peace of mind. The most famous doctor isn't necessarily the best one. As for the age limit, I'm not sure, but you can find that info online.
There's no magic secret here—we're all terrified of how things will turn out. Some people get lucky, others don't, and that's just the reality of it.

My own experience was so incredible that I'm actually planning on going back for more.☕
I get it. But honestly, that’s exactly why I don’t want any part in dragging someone down. I’m not looking for lawsuits, nor am I interested in trashing anyone's reputation. If I hadn't been happy at first—during those initial two weeks when you could barely see any change yet—I wouldn't have even mentioned who my surgeon was. Now? I actually regret posting it. Although, his behavior got under my skin so much that I've lost confidence in everything else too...
I'm incredibly unhappy about this whole situation, but I won't find any satisfaction in seeing someone get screwed over. At the end of the day, I just want my nose fixed, and nothing more.
I’m not even holding a grudge if a mistake slipped through. But this whole attempt at persuasion? It’s honestly ridiculous—and frankly, it feels worse than just admitting the error and explaining what happened. If he didn't do it, he should just explain why it ended up there in the first place. I'm not going to just take his word for it blindly.🙄
If it was his fault, he should fix it; if it wasn't, then there's really nothing to worry about.
jadecrane3 said:steelangler88, where exactly is this bump located?
I have this weird lump on the tip of my nose on the left side—it feels like a large subcutaneous cyst—but I’m worried it might just be swelling that isn't going away...

It's on the left side, right in the middle of my nose. Actually, my whole nose (the bone itself) seems tilted to one side, and there's this hard bump about a centimeter wide and 2 mm high. It's EXTREMELY noticeable from a profile view. Because of it, my nose looks like it's drooping downwards.
It showed up three or four weeks after surgery (specifically, once the initial swelling went down, this became obvious—like everything else subsided except for this hard part). Right where the main bridge of my nose—which really should be straight from the root to the tip—veers off to the left. From the front, it looks like a "C" shape; it curves out and then back toward the center at the tip. And right there in the middle, on the left, is this stupid bump... something was left behind, and honestly, I'm starting to lose faith in my doctor.

So, what am I supposed to do now? 🙄
Maria Diaz79 said:steelangler88, do you think this lump is medical malpractice or just a fluke?

I honestly don't know what to make of this.
My doctor flat-out refuses to explain what's going on—why it happened or how. In fact, he's basically gaslighting me, claiming I'm making the whole thing up and that there's nothing there at all!! 😲
And believe me, it IS there. It definitely is. And it shouldn't be.
Between his "there is no problem, you're just imagining things" attitude, his refusal to even suggest what it might be or how to fix it, and the way he dodges the subject every single time I bring it up—I'm convinced he made a mistake and knows it.
I'm not the type to file lawsuits or cause a scene; I just want the job done right. But I won't be getting it done here.
I'm going to wait until my one-year follow-up (to see if I'm still "imagining" this lump) and then I'm finding a new doctor to fix this. Hopefully, that will be the last time I have to deal with this and I can finally just have a normal nose.
Joseph Edwards31 said:steelangler88, from what I understand about revision rhinoplasty, everyone heads to Prof. Uglešić—he handles maxillofacial surgery over at Dubrava. Word is he’s incredible at fixing noses.👍

Honestly, I could just die right now!
He was actually my first choice...!!! I have no idea why I hesitated at the last minute, and now look at me.
Well, fine.
I’ve still got this bump on one side after the surgery, so I’m going to have to go back in because that thing isn't going away on its own.
Sophia Hill22 said:I’m curious about that too—on the nose surgery thread, yeya mentioned she had two septoplasty procedures and is happy now, though she didn't say which surgeon... anyway, let me know if you find out.

Lucky you, right?
I'll do some digging. Honestly, I’m currently hunting for a specialist who actually has experience with revision surgeries. Even though I have no intention of touching anything until the one-year mark hits, I still want to be prepared. I am definitely not looking to go through that ordeal a second time.
To break up this little bit of perfection...

I could really use some recommendations for an audit.🙄

it’s basically that whole "chicken or the egg" dilemma, isn't it?
you could go see the most top-tier surgeon in the country and still walk out feeling unsatisfied.
I took a gamble myself 🙄

Laura Castillo7 said:Did he do that mouth contouring thing on you? Does it hurt? I actually passed on it because I just wasn't feeling it—he told me almost everyone gets it done, though from what I can tell, he’s pretty much the only one doing it like that.

Yeah. It didn't hurt at all. Not that, or anything else for that matter.
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
I'm not sure, but I'd say no. Honestly, I have my doubts—he actually told me he wouldn't even consider operating on me again... so yeah.. 🙄

Regardless of whether I go back to him or not, I’m definitely going to get more opinions this time around. I want to see what other doctors have to say. I think making a decision is going to be much harder now than it was the first time.
But like I said, I'm not doing anything just yet; I'll wait a few months.
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
Yeah, true. But I’ll probably need to go back in to get everything fixed up properly. Right now, it feels like the job is only half done—nothing's quite right yet.🙄

I still have that bump on my left side (which actually makes my nose look like it's tilting downward when I'm seen from a right profile), and the tip has dropped quite a bit—even though my doctor wanted to lift it even higher, but I didn't let him because I was terrified it would end up looking... you know... off.
They aren't massive lumps or anything crazy, but since I've already been through the process and so much work has already been put in, it feels silly to just leave it if there's still a chance to fix it. Even if the tip stays as it is along with the bump, I really need to deal with that protrusion. I guess I'll see how things look by summer.
