So, since we’ve already started beating each other senseless with equally valid and sterile opinions scavenged straight from IMDb... why don't we move on to discussing the best backdrop for the film? You know, specifically that Jennifer Lopez 🙂
Basically, what's your preferred way to view her: 35mm, Super 35mm, A24 style, or do you just prefer freezing the frame on your DVD player so you can stare at Jennifer Lopez's ass indefinitely?
Do you dig her more in intimate, moody interiors or those massive, flashy outdoor shots? And who should be behind the lens—Steven Soderbergh, Oliver Stone, Tarsem Singh, or some random fourth guy?
(For the slightly more pretentious types out there—which, let's face it, includes me—just imagine Jennifer Lopez's backside in Technicolor, or stretched out in IMAX, or heaven forbid, that overly glamorous VistaVision look...)
First off, a quick shoutout to Atlantic Records for trying to pull a fast one on me by offering to sell me the album under the counter, even though the official release date isn't until April 8th. 🙂
Anyway, I was broke as hell in the meantime, so I had to go out and grind some shifts at the warehouse...
After sitting through a bunch of totally pointless albums about fish and those Sun Ra covers, Sonic Youth is proving once again that they’re easily the best pop band in the entire universe. Period. They even threw in a romantic track called "How to make a Baby Elephant Float" just for kicks. 🙂 🙂 🙂🙂 🙂 🙂
Gordi Albion said:. This whole thread went totally off the rails from what I was actually trying to get at, and honestly, you just used it as an excuse to take a swing at me. Whatever, man... fine. Let it happen.
Don't get worked up, it's all just sports and music.😉
Richard Howard2 said:Look, man, just like me and pretty much everyone else here, the guy just wants an excuse to sit back and tear these movies to shreds... and you can't really do that unless you actually sit through them first.
Apparently, psychiatrists can cure masochism, but they haven't figured out how to stop people from venting their absolute stupidity all over this forum yet. 🙂

Oh, really? Is that why you go out of your way to seek out such absolute garbage? It’s honestly impressive how some people have this innate, god-given talent for exposing just how clueless and dim-witted they actually are.🙂
I honestly can't stand those people who go, "Ugh, an American movie this, an American movie that... gross, gross..." while they're glued to the screen watching every single one. 🙄
Dude, you’re an idiot. And honestly, all of you who aggressively brag about having enough tactlessness to play the victim all over this forum—as if anyone's actually forcing you to act like this—you're just absolute morons... I seriously can't even believe it. 🙄 🙂
Regarding the whole Dogma thing... apparently "Love you forever" is supposed to be incredible. I haven't checked it out yet though, mostly because I'm still recovering from the absolute cinematic assaults written by the same director (The Sect, The Only One...)
btw, I just sat through the new Thomas Vinterberg flick (The Celebration), It's All about Love... and man, what an absolutely nauseating, bottom-of-the-barrel disaster of a movie 😲 🙄 🙂 If I happen to run into him anywhere in NYC these days, I might actually break his legs for committing such a crime against cinema... 😠
Dogme 95 is basically just selling snake oil, and honestly, anyone who actually fell for it deserves the blame... the only decent (and even genius) Dogme 95 film out there is 🙂The Celebration .
That’s a solid idea, Carl Bennett78—I’m all for it. Unfortunately, we can’t get too ahead of ourselves with the hype cycles since there are just way too many films hitting these major festivals, often finishing up production right before the curtains even go up. But hey, no big deal... I'm down for 🙂
