So, over this past week, I’ve actually had two certified packages go missing—both were the premium registered kind, too—that I sent off from the local post office over in Vrbana.
I ended up calling their customer service line, and they just sort of told me they could check when the items originally left the facility, but honestly, they didn't offer much else beyond that... apparently, I can file a formal claim if I want to. I mean, I guess I could provide photos or whatever, but it feels like such a hassle...
So, I guess I should probably give a little update regarding that package of mine. It turns out the parcel finally turned up after what felt like an absolute eternity, and it turns out the woman who sent it had actually swapped the sender and recipient info by mistake. To be honest, it’s pretty much impossible to get anyone at The New York Times to actually reply to an email, and they certainly don't bother picking up the phone, plus the staff over at the local CVS weren't really prepared to deal with any of this chaos, though I suppose I should say thanks to them because they did actually call me once they finally tracked the thing down.
I know this thread is supposed to be about the postal service, but I honestly can't think of anywhere else where I could vent a little and give everyone else a heads-up.
So, basically, a woman sent me a package through Penguin Random House about ten days ago, and when I checked their online tracker this past Monday, it showed that the package had arrived at its destination—which was supposed to be my local newsstand. But here’s the thing: I’ve been stopping by that same shop every single day since Monday, and there is absolutely no sign of my package. The clerks there just shrug their shoulders at me like they have no clue. On the Penguin Random House website, it says I have to contact them exclusively via written inquiry, so that's exactly what I did. Now, it seems like three of their employees are just passing my email around in a circle—first Marko Karačić, then Tomislav Bujanić, and finally Jadranka Jović. Despite sending a formal written request asking for advice on what to do or how to actually track down my stuff, I haven't received a single word back from any of them. 🤷
It’s just so irresponsible! It feels completely unprofessional, if not outright negligent... 👎👎👎
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense from them?
Can someone please help me understand why on earth it takes nine whole days for a simple envelope to travel from Washington, D.C. to San Diego, and like, how is that even physically possible? I mean, I honestly think if we had just carried it there on foot ourselves, it probably would have arrived way faster than this.
I’m thinking about sending over some skincare products tomorrow afternoon—probably by 5 PM—from Washington, D.C. (since it's Wednesday) headed down to Miami. Does anyone happen to know if choosing the expedited shipping option would actually guarantee that everything arrives there by Friday?😕
So, I sent my friend this thick envelope via certified mail containing about 100 grams of centella powder—it’s just a little herb used in anti-cellulite treatments and stuff—but apparently, some genius at the post office decided to slice through the extra tape I used to reinforce the package, opened the envelope, swiped all the powder, and left my friend with nothing but an empty sleeve when she went to pick it up at the local branch. I guess it was a stroke of luck that she realized immediately that there was absolutely nothing inside the envelope. Maybe some overzealous person thought they were intercepting something illegal, like drugs or something?😁 All in all, the total value of what was in that shipment is only about $45, so I was kind of wondering if there's actually any hope of us getting that money back somehow.😕 My friend actually filed a formal complaint right then and there at the post office.🤷
I mean, I ship certified packages all across the United States almost every single day, and I honestly can't say this has ever happened to me before.
I think there's some kind of combination from a company like Kal that includes magnesium along with something else specifically formulated for that restless legs syndrome.
Honestly, I feel like if I ever tried to give up coffee, I’d probably spiral straight into some kind of deep depression, or at least deal with constant stress and being super on edge......😁 It really is the one thing in life that I don't think I could ever, ever walk away from.
I’ve spent some time studying lymphatic drainage, and I have to say, it is an incredibly taxing and physically demanding technique if you actually want to perform it the right way. I honestly feel like no amount of reading books can really give you even a vague idea of how to execute it properly. It isn't enough to just sign up for any random certification course you find online; you really have to do your homework to find a high-quality program that actually teaches the nuances. Personally, even though I truly love giving massages, I wouldn't dream of performing lymphatic drainage for any amount of money unless I was absolutely certain about my training.
My line of work involves working with women on a daily basis, so I see a lot of different approaches to wellness. A few of my clients, who had been bouncing between all sorts of different diets without much luck, have actually started using acupuncture to help with weight loss lately, and honestly, it’s working incredibly well for them. I guess the main thing is that the needles seem to help manage those hunger cues, so they aren't constantly fighting cravings and can eat much more moderately. You should really give it a shot, and if you decide you want to try it, I can definitely send you a recommendation for a specialist 🙂. Just get moving, maybe start hitting the gym, go for some runs, stay active, clean up your diet, treat yourself to a massage, drink plenty of herbal teas, and I truly believe you'll start seeing results 👍
Amanda Moore79 said:Douglas Diaz2, do you have any recommendations for throat infections, bronchitis, or maybe laryngitis... specifically the bacterial kind? I mean, just in case I get hit by one again. Those antibiotics absolutely wreck me every single time. Usually, right after a throat infection clears up, I end up dealing with a massive yeast infection 😁
Oh, and by the way, how did you actually become an expert in all this? Was it through reading books, or maybe taking some specific courses?
I definitely have some ideas, but please, just send me a private message instead. I really don't want to get dogpiled by certain people on here over my advice. 😲
Since dealing with cellulite is basically just part of my daily grind, I can say from firsthand experience that your lifestyle is such a massive factor. You know, things like working out, what you eat, staying hydrated, just keeping active... but then there's also genetics, which is a whole other story. I've noticed so many women in their later years who don't really bother with sports or eating healthy at all, yet they barely have any cellulite, while on the flip side, you see these young girls who live incredibly disciplined lives and still struggle with it. It’s funny, honestly, because just like so many other things in life, it really comes down to a stroke of luck, I guess 🤷 In general, it seems like cellulite is becoming more common, much like how unhealthy food is everywhere now. And for those of us working in this field, it just means there's more work on our plates 🙂
Maybe you could try using some ginkgo biloba if you're dealing with low blood pressure or just generally feeling like your circulation isn't quite where it should be, I guess.
Melissa Thomas10 said:Does anyone know if those creams or anything similar are available at a CVS or Walgreens?
I mean, you can find those kinds of creams in basically any local pharmacy, I guess, and maybe you could try one containing propolis; it’s quite natural and I feel like it really helps.
Food is really the most critical part of this whole thing, I guess. Your doctor was spot on when they told you to stick to things that are boiled, light, and completely unseasoned—yes, absolutely YES. You really need to cut out the chocolate, the potato chips, anything fried or breaded, and all that heavy seasoning, plus anything sour, spicy, salty, or carbonated 😁. Basically, you have to eat more like a little kid would. If you're dealing with constipation, then drinking as much water as possible is probably the single most important thing you can do, though maybe it's just one of those vital pieces of the puzzle, and maybe having a serving of grains once a day could help too. I honestly think you'll figure out what's safe to eat and what isn't pretty quickly, because every single time you accidentally eat something you weren't supposed to, you are definitely going to feel 🙄
I guess I could probably point you toward a really solid therapist who could help you work through those insecurities and that tendency to blow things out of proportion, maybe? If you think you might be interested in looking into that, just let me know.
If you’re looking to help with sleep, I’ve found that mixing together some lemon balm and St. John's Wort makes for a pretty solid tea blend, I guess. To really feel the effects, you probably need to be sipping on it at least twice a day for a while, too. It actually works 👍 Just, you know, please don't give up on it after just two days.
