Joseph Jackson2 said:Oh, come on! Are you seriously telling me I'm not funny? That’s a bit harsh, don't you think? I mean, really! I thought we were having such a great time chatting—was I totally off base there? Ouch!

Oh, I absolutely am! Hey there! How’s everything going? Just popping in to say hello!

Joseph Jackson2 said:Man, I am just so incredibly bummed out about missing out on seeing Drake—seriously, my heart is actually breaking! Does anyone else feel like we’re totally being left behind?
I mean, come on—Muse is a band that has already sold out Wembley twice, if I’m remembering correctly!
Just look at this tour schedule! They’ve completely sold out Wembley again—they're already adding a second night! And get this: they did the exact same thing at Stade de France, adding another show there too. Can you even wrap your head around how many people that actually is? I was just checking Wikipedia, and for Wembley, we're talking about 75,000 seats plus another 15,000 standing room. Then you've got Paris hitting 80,000. Honestly, when you look at those numbers, you really can't argue with their massive popularity, can you? It's absolutely insane!

They actually pulled it off twice in a row back in 2007! Can you believe that? And honestly, just a few months after that happened in Washington, D.C., everything started shifting—can you believe it? We’re talking about a crowd of maybe two to three thousand people! Can you even imagine? That's a massive turnout!

frozentinker432 said:The real issue here—and I honestly can't stress this enough—is that these haters are judging the entire lineup based on their own absolutely terrible taste in music! I mean, really? Since when did having zero musical depth become a valid way to critique a festival? It’s just so frustrating to see people being so narrow-minded about it! 😍

Haha, totally! 😂
Arthur Anderson2 said:This is meant to be a group discussion—do you really think people need extra validation before they decide whether or not to show up?
If you're already certain you're going, why hang around this thread?

Honestly, you've got a point! I'll probably head out in a few months anyway—I mean, the local insiders around here aren't exactly dropping any major bombshells or helpful info, right? 😁
Joseph Jackson2 said:And you? You’re really not bringing much to the table in terms of wit or humor, are you? Look, I’m not even going to get into the whole "being informative" thing—honestly, that's not why I hang out on these forums anyway! I don't come here to read a textbook or a news report; I come here to stir the pot and have a real debate! So, just so we're clear, I'll be back—and frankly, I couldn't care less if my presence gets under your skin.

Regarding the topic at hand—honestly, isn't it just a bit shady how T-Mobile US is dropping these names one by one? I mean, seriously? It feels like they're just teasing us! Personally, I think they should wait until ticket prices hit those astronomical, "out of this world" levels before they even consider releasing a single name. Or maybe even then, they might still keep us hanging! Who knows, right?
So, how many people have actually snagged tickets so far? I mean, where are we getting this idea that they're "early-bird" or whatever else they're calling them—already sold out? Just how many were even available to begin with???
LCD Soundsystem as the headliner? Are you kidding me?! I mean, seriously, what are we even doing here?
Can you believe how close we are to the festival? It’s almost here! I am seriously buzzing—is anyone else feeling this level of hype, or is it just me? Time is flying by so fast! $133 Wait, hold on—so the ticket prices are basically the same as what they’re charging for Coachella? Are you kidding me?! And get this: Muse is actually headlining! Can you even imagine? Muse AND LCD Soundsystem on the same bill? That is absolutely wild! I mean, how do you even begin to compare those two? On one hand, you've got the sheer, massive stadium energy of Muse—those crazy synth layers and Matt Bellamy just going absolutely ballistic on the keys—and then you have the dance-punk, rhythmic perfection of LCD Soundsystem. It’s like comparing a supernova to a perfectly tuned engine, right? One is pure spectacle, and the other is just cool, sophisticated vibes that make you want to move. As for the prices... if they really are pulling numbers similar to the Coachella lineup, it’s definitely going to sting the wallet a bit, but man, is it worth it for a lineup like that? I’m already wondering if I can swing it! What do you guys think—is it a steal or a total rip-off at those rates?

I mean, am I bothering you? Is that what's happening here? Because if I am—well, I definitely am! What's up with that? 🤷

Look, it’s not just about whether you're getting on my nerves—it’s that I honestly can't wrap my head around what you were even trying to get at there! What was the point? For me, though... I'm all about Muse. 🤮 Honestly, they’re just a cheap imitation of Radiohead—and don't even get me started on LCD Soundsystem, who basically kicked off one of the most fascinating "genres" of the early 2000s through their label. I mean, sure, I get that way more people recognize Muse, but would those extra fans actually show up to see them live? I don't think so! We already saw what kind of crowd they pulled when they toured last time, right? 🤣
And honestly, even if they actually show up—it wouldn't really faze me one bit! I mean, you two would probably be over the moon, right? And then, of course, a whole swarm of other party animals just like you would come flooding in, acting all high and mighty like, "Oh, but they were already here!"—you know how it goes!
What’s the point of all this, really? I mean, seriously—what are we even doing here?

Oh, man, I get it! I mean, wouldn't it be absolutely wild if we had something like Coachella right here? Just imagine—you wake up, check the lineup, and suddenly there are ten incredible bands announced, and you actually recognize seven of them! That would be the dream, right? But honestly, even though we don't have that exact kind of setup, it doesn't change my mind one bit about our local festival scene being awesome. I still think what we have is such a fantastic thing, and I find myself looking forward to it almost every single year!
Amanda Barrett4 said:Oh man, seriously?! Does anyone know if there are still any tickets left floating around somewhere? I’m running a little bit short on cash at the moment—nothing crazy, just trying to budget—so I’m looking for something in the ballpark of $250... any leads?$100?

Oh, you bet! You can find them in places like the Mall of America—it’s everywhere! $130 So, here’s the deal on the price—it’s $340 if you just shoot over a text from your T-Mobile US number, but it drops down to $290 if you're a student! Honestly, having that student ID really pays off, doesn't it? It looks like that little discount makes a pretty big difference! 😬 But just a heads-up—this deal only runs through March 17th, and that’s assuming they don't run out of stock before then! Who knows? It might be gone in a flash!

shadowdrifter6 said:I honestly don't get why people feel like they can't just speak their minds! If we’re being real—and I mean *really* honest here—this year's lineup is actually pretty mediocre compared to what we saw last year. Most of these bands have played everywhere recently, while other huge acts can barely even pack out a venue like Madison Square Garden! Look, say whatever you want, but when you factor in the ticket price + the cost of drinks and food + travel and hotels if you aren't living right here in Washington, D.C.—it adds up to a massive amount of cash! People want at least two or three more names that actually carry some weight, you know? Names that actually *mean* something! So, yeah, my critique stands. At this rate, I think it'll be a struggle to even pull in 4,000 or 5,000 people. Though, if I'm being totally blunt... those attendance numbers from last year—those 15,000 to 20,000 figures—felt incredibly inflated to me anyway!

I mean, let’s be real here—Massive Attack was the only act that actually pulled in a crowd of 9,000 to 10,000 people! Can you believe it? 🙄
Look, I’m gonna be real with you—your estimates are way off base! Seriously, you're barking up the wrong tree here!

Alright, I'm dropping some full copy-pastes from just the last two pages here—specifically where... So, I want to hear from you guys—what’s actually on your minds? Don't hold back! I'm dying to know what you all are thinking about lately!:

shadowdrifter6 said:Any more updates on this? Any news at all?🤷

March 17th is creeping up on us, and honestly? I’m holding my breath! I am desperately expecting to see at least two or three massive, heavy-hitting headliners announced before then—otherwise, this whole thing is going to be the absolute last dud from this festival series. We need some real star power, don't you think?👎

Hey, sladokusac! Looking at that lineup—who actually has a shot at pulling this off? Come on, spill the secrets before everyone burns through their cash on tickets they might regret!

Elizabeth Clark57 said:Honestly, I’m sitting this one out—I just don't feel like dropping that kind of cash on Rammstein, you know? And if we're being totally real, I wouldn't even be down to pay more!
Honestly, looking at this lineup... man, it is absolutely worth it! Don't you think? $100Honestly, looking at how many people actually snapped up tickets this year... man, it’s such a bummer! It feels like a total tragedy that the lineup is so much weaker than what we saw last year. Seriously, if you ask me? This whole thing feels like a cheap, watered-down knockoff of Lollapalooza. Is it just me, or did they really miss the mark this time around?

Dana Howard93 said:What would I even do with that?

Kate James39 said:+1

Seriously, what’s the point? Even without those posts, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that people aren't thrilled with the lineup—which happens every single year! That's why you only see maybe 10,000 to 15,000 people show up out of, I don't know, a million people living in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Posts like that
1.) don't actually contribute anything useful to the conversation
2.) aren't fun at all—in fact, they're just annoying to those of us who are genuinely excited about the festival, and honestly, I highly doubt you guys feel any better after posting them.
3.) are all exactly the same and can basically be boiled down to "I don't like this."

I get that most of the "positive" posts don't add much depth either, but in real life, your behavior would be like walking into an ice cream parlor and trying to explain to people enjoying their treats that the sweets and sundaes there are actually terrible. 😠 👎
😳😳😳

Plus, you guys keep comparing this lineup to the old ones way before this one is even finalized (they announced 7 acts, even though there are usually around 40 every year, LOL)! But if you really want to go there, this lineup is already better than the one from 2008👍—back when I wasn't trashing the thread but was instead just buying my ticket like any other sane person.

All of this just bothers me because when I read your thoughts—take threads about thirsty ears or other concerts at the Mall of America, or even previous festival discussions—those are consistently more informative, funnier, and more witty... basically, just better. Why? BECAUSE YOU AREN'T THERE!!!
Okay, fine, and also because Jesse Sanchez60—aka the promoter
Rebecca Fowler14 said:Are those student discounts still available? Or did I totally miss the boat? 😁😁

They run through March 17th—or whenever they sell out! 🙂

The festival actually has a website
you can check.
😢Honestly, you guys are being so irritating! This unprovoked bashing of the festival—and people actually signing their names to posts like this—has been tasteless for a long time now. This isn't some random chat room, you know? Seriously, just go to Lollapalooza or whatever you think counts as a real festival with actual good music and fun, if that's even what you're looking for. I don't know how pathetic > has to be to come here just to vent without naming a single specific thing or offering any real critique. Get it together! Just let us enjoy ourselves and spare us your "intellectual" commentary... ☕
@steelsurfer60/">@@steelsurfer60, if you actually snagged a ticket, you shouldn't have any issues—they don't really bother checking if you're a college student at the gates🙂

Arthur Anderson2 said:Just buy the damn ticket already if you hate the lineup so much.

But that's exactly the point we're making here—we don't need people like that dragging everything down! 😁 Just sell your ticket; there's a whole section for Classified ads on the site for exactly that. And honestly? Even I bought my ticket before the lineup was even announced! But look, if I didn't know whether Muse, KISS, or whoever was playing instead of BSS or Massive were coming, I'd still sell mine without all this whining just so I could let everyone else enjoy the show in peace. Hopefully! 😬
Robin Rodriguez5 said:Yeah, I actually heard someone mention earlier this week that he was booked for a show in Washington, D.C. this summer—but honestly, it never even crossed my mind that we were talking about the Coachella lineup!

How on earth did you not make that connection?! It fits perfectly!!! 😬 😂

I feel the exact same way (obviously 😁) about this crowd—you know, the ones who are never active on this forum, yet suddenly they swoop into this specific thread just to start drama because they don't like the lineup and threaten to boycott the organizers? LOL

So, I’ve been spending the last couple of days absolutely jamming to Vampire Weekend on my Discman 😳 and man, they have some seriously catchy, upbeat tracks on there—like Diplomat's Son, Holiday, and Cousins—that I'm just loving! It actually makes me think they might be better than Hot Chip, because honestly, with Hot Chip, I can never tell if they're being totally serious with that sound or what, LOL. As for Yeasayer, I’ve actually forgotten about them already 😳 and I was just listening to their stuff earlier today... man, that was awesome!

I haven't really delved into Groove Armada before, but this new stuff? It's okay, I guess—pretty middle-of-the-road for me.

That said, I'm really digging the Puerto Rico Flowers EP; it's got such a great vibe, and yeah, it kind of reminds me of old-school Depeche Mode, maybe even a little better 👍
Also, big thanks to Raymond Bailey6 for the heads-up on the new Have a Nice Life EP 😁

Sometimes I just get this sudden urge to sit here and "review" everything, LOL 😬

Well, we’ve officially kicked things off! 👋

Aufgang - Aufgang ****1/2

Two pianos, drums, and electronic elements—it’s classic avant-garde meets experimental electronica. Honestly? That track "Channel 7" is just absolute peak music 🙏 (you can check out the full album version on YouTube or find the radio edit and some remixes over on their MySpace page). On my first listen, it completely blew me away—total euphoria! 👍 The rest of the album is super solid, even if the tracks are pretty extreme: they're either lightning fast or draggingly slow, or crashing loud or whisper quiet, with very little middle ground. After finishing the whole thing, I feel like I just sat through an entire hour's worth of every piano piece ever composed all at once, LOL 😁 though you can actually dance to parts of it sometimes 😬 😳
🙄
Sarcasm is honestly just the weapon of choice for people who have nothing else to say 🙂

Massive Attack 👋
👋 Massive Attack 👋
LCD Soundsystem 👋
Flogging Molly 👋
!😍!👋!🙂

And all this drama just for $83 what I actually shelled out for my ticket—if my memory serves me right, last year Massive and Martin were going for $220 while Flogging Molly was only $120
I’ve had some time to sit back and really process everything, and honestly? I think this lineup might actually be the best one I've ever seen at a festival 😍 (and trust me, I’ve hit up enough of them to know—we're talking double digits here!)
It’s probably going to get even better, too!

👋 👋 👋
👋 👋 👋
👋 👋 👋
THE INDIE ROCK SCENE IS JUST SOOOOO BROKEN 👋 👋 👋
Massive Attack just jumped from the top of my imaginary "bands I need to see" list straight to the very peak of my even more imaginary 😬 "bands I absolutely have to see again" list, so 👋

Honestly, though, it feels like the organizers could’ve skipped them and Flogging Molly and instead booked some acts at the same price point that would actually draw a massive crowd—you know, because they haven't played in Chicago since last year... Who knows, right? I'm guessing Massive will probably headline the main stage one night, so a lot of it really comes down to whoever closes out the second stage, I suppose. Just rambling now! 😳

And as for Supertramp? Man, I wouldn't even be getting hyped if this were their first time touring the States, would I?
hiddenharbor66 said:Daft Punk is playing at the Wireless Festival in Austin from June 15th to the 17th, and then they're hitting Istanbul on June 23rd..

Whoa, hold on there! We're talking about 2010 here, not 2007! 🤣
Ronald Turner46 said:Lollapalooza has this raw, electric energy that honestly? I don't think T-Mobile will be able to touch for at least another decade! Seriously, the best part of the whole experience—the absolute craziest, most hilarious stuff—always happens around 8:00 in the morning... meanwhile, T-Mobile usually calls it quits by 2:00 AM. Who needs sleep when the party is just getting started?

Look, I’m heading to the festival for the bands—not for some nonsense at eight in the morning! 🤷
I mean, when you really think about it, trying to compare festivals like that doesn't even make much sense—they’re just such different beasts, right? But hey, I am honestly just so stoked to hear that you're out there having the absolute time of your life! 👍

Wait, hold on—did I miss something? Are we really just going to drop a single name like that and leave it hanging? Honestly, I feel like there’s a whole story here that we’re skipping over! What's the deal with this? Is there some massive update I missed while I was grabbing coffee, or are we just reminiscing about the legends? I need the context! Come on, don't leave me hanging like this—give me the scoop! kaže:
What are you even trying to say—that they're actually good? Seriously!

I think it’s pretty obvious that I wasn't actually talking about the music in that sentence—I was talking about YOU! What I meant to say is that you probably only listened to them once, maybe just one single time when you were in a specific mood, and then you immediately wrote them off as trash. So, honestly? You're probably just totally out of touch! :S:S:S:
Arthur Anderson75 said:Maybe try reading my sentence a little more closely next time?

Well, how about you try reading mine more carefully!!!
urbannomad30 said:So basically, just give up—we don't need you here👋

Signed, sealed, delivered!!!1
Mark Cox15 said:I'm listening to some LCD Soundsystem right now... man, this is just bad. Really bad. 🤦

Well, you clearly have to be listening really closely if that's the verdict you've reached! 👍

And honestly? When someone with a handle like David Martin11 🤣 trashes a band, I immediately start thinking they must be way better than I currently realize—it almost makes me happy that they're coming to town! 🙂

XD

I don't quite see what the surrounding festivals have to do with anything—I mean, sure, Lollapalooza is longer and bigger, and I wouldn't say the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is lagging behind, but let's be real: Lollapalooza over in Canada is usually miles ahead of both of them!

I'd happily see Röyksopp again, especially since I missed out on Harter Quote. 😢

Arthur Anderson75 said:If there's no Muse, Placebo, or Alice in Chains on this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup, I'm completely out.

You're basically making demands of the organizers—that's how it works! 🙄 It’s not like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is your own private party where they have to grant your every wish, so if you're going to bail, just go ahead and skip it—we won't miss you! 👋
Man, I’m really crossing my fingers here—I’ve got a feeling LCD Soundsystem and !!! will be playing at the exact same time 😬

One 👋 little detail though—it’s actually working

And honestly? I’d love to catch Juan Maclean too, if
My take? I honestly think the FBI is just playing a massive game 😬 😢
