What's your favorite US band? in Music ·
Out of the active 3M brands—though, honestly... Death Cab for Cutie 😁

I’d probably mention a few more if I could find a way to fit them into this post without making it a total novel 😳
Man, those ungrateful jerks! I guess the crew over at The Fillmore is putting this together—they don't have a church to go to, just The Fillmore! 🙄
But hey, maybe they’ve got that unity, right?
😳

Oh man, I am absolutely loving this—Brendan Perry!!! 👋 👋 👋
wiredfalcon2 said:did you catch the Muse show?

Nope! I was actually at the Unsane gig that day—honestly, you have no clue! 🙄 😳 😁

Man, these posts are driving me crazy... I come here hoping some actual intel might leak out, but instead, everyone's just talking nonsense. Well, at least it's easy enough to jump into the conversation! 😳

edit: okay, all this speculation about The Black Crowes is actually pretty cool—maybe I should finally give them a spin... and The Dead Weather and Monsters of Folk too! 😳
And it's not even for Močvara—it's actually for eSCej! 🙂 😬

Look, that’s a much smaller issue than the fact that driftingeagle27 basically missed out by getting kicked off the forum—or rather, they were left completely out of the loop on the most essential topic: DADA! 🤣
!👋!👋!👋

I'm really crossing my fingers that the sound setup on that second stage actually hits the mark—you know, and doesn't just bleed into some random, mediocre set 🙂
Nicole King30 said:Wait, so if I actually reach out via message, do I still get any extra discounts on those $97 from $17?

Nope. http://www.t-mobileinmusicfestival.com/info/faq

I was one of those early birds who grabbed tickets 👋 and—fingers crossed—I really hope I don't end up having to flip my ticket 😬
frozenranger52 said:To be fair, you can't really compare them directly. Take, for example, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival two years ago—they played right as night was starting to settle in—versus that YYYs set. The timing is somewhat similar, and sure, both are huge names, but let's be real: Karen put together an outdoor gig where people were actually vibing, whereas at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, everyone was just sitting on the ground, except for the hardcore fans right up in the front row. It’s pretty binary: you either have that energy or you don't! There’s obviously a connection to the genre too, but I think these two are perfect for this comparison. One group absolutely kills it outdoors, and the other... well, they just don't. Simple as that.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was so intense it was almost unreal—people were mesmerized, especially since nobody was messing around with the band members or anything like that. 😍
And honestly, the YYYs' performance was such a letdown that I don't even like them much anymore. And yeah, there were millions of people crowding everywhere, but I think only about 20 of us were actually jumping around. 🙄

I thought Lily Allen was okay, but man, the crowd was really moving! Honestly, I'm getting a headache just from hearing people try to "defend" the Editors, but I can't recall anyone else who had a crowd that engaged at that time of day—and trust me, I've been to plenty of shows out there... I know everyone stands in a different spot 🙄, but it seems like a ton of people on the forums after the show were saying stuff like, "I don't get why they're even famous," so I THINK MY OPINION IS SPOT ON!!

There's no shortage of gossip to go around, is there?
Arthur Morgan5 said:Deerhunter, Beach House, Grizzly Bear, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The xx, Phoenix, Japandroids, Cymbals Eat Guitars, St. Vincent, Bat for Lashes, Bill Callahan, Real Estate, The Mountain Goats... man, I've got all of them! 😁 I mean, let's just not even bring up names like Arcade Fire, Interpol, Radiohead, Yo La Tengo, or Wilco... seriously, why even go there?

Sure thing! I'm ready to get to work. What have you got for me? 😬

Man, I honestly don't even know... what's actually going to come of all this stuff everyone is asking for? There just isn't enough time in the day to deal with everything at once! :/
I honestly don't get why everyone is so hyped about seeing bands that have already toured here—I mean, don't get me wrong, I’d jump at the chance to see Fall again, but still...

Whether it's Arcade Fire, Belle and Sebastian, or Sufjan Stevens, they're mostly just those huge indie names that I haven't actually caught live yet! 🙂

Personally, I'd much rather catch Portishead in a proper arena—maybe somewhere like Madison Square Garden? 😬—instead of some random outdoor festival setting...
Earplugs for concerts? in Music ·
It was actually mentioned over in the MA thread!

Looks like we're gonna need to hunt down some clips like those, I guess!
I honestly think I’m going to archive this whole debate—especially since it keeps circling back to "that concert hall is just a monument to elitism"—and post it on a bunch of different forums!
Where did everyone go? Seriously, where are all those people who were dropping like 300 posts in a row just praising the band last time? o.O
🤷Did they all head out to the coast for vacation or something?

I could’ve sworn I was seeing some of the old-school forum regulars popping back up lately too...
🙂But hey, out of those 300 posts, we actually birthed a micro-meme—honestly the greatest smiley ever created!

I know you guys all know this already, but I’m getting a little bored with the repetition. 😁
man, KSET 😍
even though I ended up getting absolutely soaked myself! 🙏
how on earth is it going to look on futur of The Left? 🤷

there's a video on YouTube showing Now WE Can see from last night—it was pretty dark so you can't really see much 😁but honestly, the audio quality is actually great
Adam Moore said:it was hot but totally worth it

Pretty much! 🙂

The energy was awesome—the crowd was absolutely electric 🙂 🙂, and the band held their own.
The confetti felt a little staged, I guess, but hey, Our trip 😍
they didn't play all the other songs from Fuckin A, but they did squeeze in quite a few toward the end, so I can't complain too much.

Man, my head is pounding like I caught some nasty seasonal flu 😕
Adam Moore said:Nah, everything’s cool—I totally respect everyone's take. I was just stuck sitting through religious studies class, damn it.

The lyrics are actually really sharp and smart. It feels like something high school seniors would write—you know, that raw energy? But you don't need anything more than that to get your point across. And the concept? Man, the concept is just brilliant. It's a full-on conceptual album—holy crap! Is it just me, or is it absolutely killer that The Black Keys put together this conceptual punk-rock/indie record about an individual living under some fascist-leaning theocratic regime, all while using these incredibly catchy melodies? 👋

👋
We're all loving this stuff! 🙂

coppermarlin81 said:Honestly, I feel like the only decent songs about faith are the dark ones—you know, like Zacharia by Lizard. Yeah, yeah, here I go again with my obsession with Lizard! But let’s be real, The Black Keys aren't exactly going to drop a track about spirituality. They might sing about flowers or just feeling happy, sure, but deep faith? Or that sort of ironic detachment from it? Definitely not. 🤷

Ugh, I seriously can't stand it when people start preaching about how things "ought to be."
How on earth is this still in stock? 😲

The Black Keys 👋 👋 👋

I’m telling you, I bet at least six people are gonna jump in here just to complain that the last one was better, no matter how good this one actually is! 🙄

👍
They actually have a page on MySpace too! MySpace

But honestly, I really want to recommend this "Swedish tropical" vibe—there's this group called JJ, and I can't for the life of me find their MySpace page, but hey, I did manage to track down where you can listen to the song from Africa to Malaga. You just have to click on the large play button! 😁
I honestly feel like It's more Fun to Compute is missing from that tracklist—maybe right near the beginning, like track 4?
