They played US V them ali
but honestly, if I were anyone else, I’d feel like I was Losing My Edge too—it's just one of those things, right?
I mean, it was a little disappointing that's all there was to it 😢

but overall, they totally saved the night for me! 👍
Morcheeba was kind of a drag 🤷

LCD Soundsystem was super good—Murphy is honestly just wonderful 😍
I was pretty hyped from the jump, though I guess it could’ve been even better? If I'm talking about the crowd, I mean. But still, it was freaking awesome! Most of the songs sounded unexpectedly amazing live, even if they were a bit slow-paced 😁
IF I COULD SEE ALL MY FRIENDS TONIGHT 🙂

!!! Look, they're okay, but man, what a massive disappointment. They didn't have even a shadow of that performance from three years ago, not by a long shot 😢
The party didn't even really start until halfway through the set with Yadnus. Before that, they played Must be The Moon and... nothing. Just zero energy. The sound was rough, too—the vocals were way too quiet—but maybe that was the vibe they were going for? Who knows? Those new songs were just weird... and they swapped out the drummer for a setup with one and a half people and it still sounds off 😢
The absolute highlight was when this Black woman tossed a bottle toward the crowd right in front of Anti-Person, and this guy caught it like a total pro 🙏 🙏

Then we headed over to Pendulum. I already knew they weren't the best, but at least they aren't as limp as this "headliner," right? It was alright—just a bunch of hyper teenagers, great vibes, and without even trying, they got almost a thousand of us in the crowd to do that crouching thing 🙏
Scott Hill70 said:Oh, come on, quit complaining! They sounded—and I mean really *sang*—absolutely incredible, just like back in their prime. My only real gripe is how short the set was (maybe 80 minutes?), but honestly, given it was a festival set, the crappy weather, and a pretty lukewarm crowd, you can't really blame them.

The fact that you aren't a huge fan or that grunge isn't "in" right now is a totally different story altogether.

I wrote earlier that it probably wasn't really my vibe... but hey, I might not have much more to say since I was feeling a little tipsy last night! 😁 I didn't think they had aged poorly, rather it was the music itself that felt a bit dated.
They sang well, though. For sure.
The ground was a total muddy mess, which made jumping around pretty difficult, but then again, I was expecting a few thousand high-energy fans to be losing it out there too! :/

Today it's LCD and Luks Luks Luks 👋👋👋
nimbleheron3 said:The bathroom—totally claustrophobic, but man, what an interesting vibe!

To be honest, I don't usually listen to them either, but it was seriously, seriously good; except for that one awkward trip Mr. Badovinac took, which he definitely felt:

🤣
🤣

Honestly, it’s such a fun way to kick off the summer, even if the weather isn't quite there yet!
And I actually ended up getting hyped and listening to Atak—which is absolutely massive!
Just two days before the same thing happened...
😳

Alice in Chains is definitely worth a listen—it's rare to find anything else quite like them.
There were times when they just completely blew everything else away, which was almost scary, haha!
But hey, it was good.

Led Zeppelin's fourth album is just incredible 👍
even for someone like me!

* backpacks and small bags
* food and non-alcoholic drinks in plastic containers
* rain ponchos and small collapsible umbrellas
* sunglasses
* cell phones
* cigarettes and lighters

🤷I guess I could probably sneak some cookies in, right?😠 😠??

🤷
I mean, I'd assume those rules are mostly aimed at the campers, but surely the rest of us can bring our phones, right? 🤣
Hmm, looking at the map, it actually says pretty clearly, "No food, bottles, cans, or items that might pose a safety risk allowed inside the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival grounds"—though, to be honest, I don't think they were that strict in previous years... then again, I don't really remember ever actually trying! 🤔
Henry Mitchell29 said:I'm going to be absolutely losing my mind if it rains this Wednesday.

But honestly, looking at how things are shaping up, there's no way it'll 👋

I'm not really feeling Alice in Chains lately—though hey, maybe they'll actually kill it live! 🤷

Gregory Long70, you were there last year, right? 🙏
The food situation is just ridiculous—I mean, is it because we're supposed to use it to feed the bands or something? :S
Haha, I bet you're wondering about the prices 😳
If I remember correctly, some sandwiches were around $8.25 😲
Rebecca Lee said:Yeah, you'd probably find them in those aisles with all the fishing gear or maybe near the safety equipment stuff.
And honestly, if you really want to go all out, $17 you could just grab a decent raincoat—these disposable ones are fine for a light drizzle, but they aren't going to cut it when the heavens actually open up!

Thanks a million 🙏 and hey, right back at ya! :S
Basically, last year just a few days before the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, I spent like two hours wandering around town trying to hunt down a raincoat and—nothing!! Seriously, all I found were some hideous, overpriced options in downtown Austin.

But luckily, I didn't even end up needing one!

As for those VIP passes, I had two—I handed one off to a girl passing by, and my mom ended up tossing the other one in the trash.😢

Hopefully, the weather stays gorgeous for The Flaming Lips on Wednesday! 🙂
But for Massive Attack? A little rain might actually set the perfect mood.😬
They actually moved VICE to the main stage! 👋

THE FLAMING LIPS 21:15
MASSIVE ATTACK 23:15

It’s a bummer because you'll probably miss most of Caribou, but honestly? It's such a win that the big acts aren't overlapping! 🙂

And remember, we've got LCD Soundsystem tomorrow too!!! 🙂

It's gonna be awesome 🙂
With some artists—I’m thinking about legends like 🙂
Kraftwerk—it’s just

Wait, what?
😕😕😕

Nothing major, but honestly, both Apache and The Beatles are just such a blast—so much fun and always such good vibes! 🙂
Larry Cooper40 said:I was honestly just sitting here hoping—fingers crossed, right?—that they wouldn't schedule the Flaming Lips at the exact same time as Broken Social Scene... but let's be real, I'd bet anything that’s exactly what’s going to happen! 😠

Honestly, everything just keeps getting pushed to the second day! 😢
Maybe the headliner will be someone like they were last year—you know, kind of a throwback vibe?
8:45 PM Flaming Lips!
Can you believe we actually get to see Massive Attack at 10:45 PM?! I mean, talk about the perfect way to wrap up the night—just pure, atmospheric bliss right when the energy is peaking! Who else is counting down the minutes?
And this World Stage—I mean, seriously, can we talk about it? Is it just me, or does it feel like they absolutely nailed the vibe this year? It’s got that massive, larger-than-life energy that you only get at a festival like Coachella! I was standing there just soaking it all in, and honestly, the scale of everything is just mind-blowing. Who wouldn't want to be right in the thick of that?😕)
Can we talk about the broken social scene for a second? Seriously, things have just gone totally off the rails lately!
I mean, honestly, something's bound to happen with those two bands—who knows what kind of chaos they'll stir up?
Man, I am seriously craving seeing Massive Attack live again... and honestly? I’d jump around to Flogging Molly all over again in a heartbeat. Wouldn't that be incredible? 😢

Honestly, Caribou is one of those rare artists who you could just watch under the blazing midday sun and still be totally vibing—you know what I mean? It’s just that kind of energy! 😬

The wrong turn is always the right one! 😍
Honestly, it’s easily the best spot to hit after you wrap things up at KSET—or really anywhere else in the vicinity. It’s just a quick two-minute trek away, and even though the place is basically a giant crater in the ground, I absolutely love it when I swing by! There's always a great crowd, everyone’s grabbing beers, and the prices won't break the bank. It's such a solid vibe 😁 just make sure you don't show up sober! 😬
Plus, you never know—sometimes a live band will be rocking out there too! 👍

outbar?
I mean, even if I don't know exactly how good it is—I rarely get out much these days anyway!

edit: It’s actually called inbar, of course. Just realized I might have misremembered that bit!

LOL @ truli
your ex-girlfriend told me you spent all yesterday crying
🙂

It was a little too loud for my taste
but honestly, other than that, the sound was actually pretty solid
and that venue is easily the best 👍(well, after the local arena, obviously)
it was a really great Concert 🙂
even with that guy Jarney trying his absolute hardest to ruin the vibe for me 😬
I love Spencer ♥ though it felt like he could barely wait to get off the stage—he kept dimming the lights again! 😁
Anyway, thank God* they finally showed up after 2x, The Shins, and The National. 👍 Not that I’d ever complain if those bands decided to tour here more often! 😁

*Mati 😬

@Interpol, are you living in some parallel universe or a different dimension entirely? 😲 What kind of (neolopsychtrash) folk are we even talking about? Where, and when?
Sand and their crowd seem like they'd be the closest match to that band you're describing, if you ask me 🤷

Like, are we sitting down, standing up, or can I actually grab a beer while I'm there? 😁?

How lovely! 🙂
We’ll probably just be hanging out in the atrium—fingers crossed! 🙂
Either way, just please, please don't smoke if it ends up being inside the main hall 🙂, since it's basically a theater and the ventilation is non-existent.

The new album sounds pretty solid on first listen, but honestly? Those two singles they dropped earlier were definitely the highlights. 🤷

You think😵?

The drummer was just totally killing it—really driving that rhythm—
the opening act was actually super fun and had such a great, playful energy,
and honestly, Secret Chiefs 3 were incredible during the first half; I was seriously blown away by how intense they sound live! 😍 That blend of metal and "world music"—you know, those Eastern vibes that all kind of bleed together for me—is just such a killer combo. 😳 😳
Then after the break (😕), things got a little hit-or-miss—the songs felt way more experimental, like, there was only one track that really hit the spot for me. And yeah, they did come back for an encore to play one song, which was also solid. Does anyone happen to have the setlist?
They often sound like they’re scoring a movie, but I don't mind at all—their albums always have that ambient, cinematic quality, right?

Oh, and do they wear masks because they're actually embarrassed to look the crowd in the eye? 😬
Actually, the crowd was a bit weird, but it didn't really ruin anything—we even managed to pull off a pit once! 😁

Man, I really nailed this review. 🤦

You totally did!!! 😠

😬

Honestly, I’ve only ever listened to The Strokes—and let me tell you, they might just be the worst indie band ever! Okay, okay, maybe they're decent enough 😳 but honestly, I've already forgotten half the tracks 🤔 anyway!
