Where did they go? in Music ·
I don't know, what can I even say... they were basically the soundtrack to my childhood, since I spent my entire youth listening to them, though honestly, Minae was always my absolute favorite, and God, I used to just obsess over those little indie tracks like "Sparrows and Mosquitoes" or "Pick a Violet," haha.
Hopefully people eventually find a way to actually make a living that doesn't involve shaking their assets and screaming into a microphone, lol🙂))
Dealing with Klebsiella pneumoniae in Women's Health ·
Look, here's the deal... that thing falls under the Gram-negative category, just like E. coli, and since it’s basically part of the standard flora in your mouth, skin, and gut, it behaves pretty much the same way as E. coli does within the body; the reality is that it's an absolute nightmare to fully flush out of your system, much like E. coli, so you usually have to tackle it with a cocktail of antibiotics, though obviously, there's absolutely no guarantee that even that will actually clear it up for you.
As for whether you can pass it to a partner through sex, I honestly couldn't say for sure, so you should probably just look it up on Google or better yet, get a straight answer from your doctor.

crimsonheron80 said:Is that so? You clearly don't understand psychology.☕

Well, maybe I don't get the psychology behind it, and sure, there’s probably some textbook theory claiming people act out because they're reliving their own trauma by taking it out on others, but honestly, that just doesn't sit right with me. In my book, the guy is just a straight-up monster for what he did to his own daughter, and frankly, I don't think there's any excuse in the world for that, so take it or leave it—that's just how I see things, and I'm allowed to have an opinion, even if I'm wrong.
Emotional Intelligence: A blessing or a curse? in Psychology ·
I see a bit of myself in this, though I suppose I’ve always had a decent grasp on the whole verbal and linguistic intelligence thing, if you can call it that.
Ed Gein sentenced in Psychology ·
Honestly, Ed Gein is the root of all this evil, and I’m not just talking about how the laws failed him like someone else mentioned here... I mean, seriously, what kind of monster actually locks up his own daughter and forces children into existence like that? There isn't a single excuse in the book for it, and honestly, me claiming he was abused as a kid doesn't make it okay. If anything, having gone through that himself, he should have known better than to inflict that same nightmare on his own flesh and blood.
Dealing with Maculopathy in Health ·
Steven Torres15 said:I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with a diagnosis that specifically mentions maculopathy? My mom just got her results back from an eye specialist, and it says maculopathia oc.sin. I've been scouring the internet, but everything I find seems to point toward diabetic maculopathy, which doesn't apply here since she isn't diabetic. Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That basically means there's maculopathy in the left eye, implying the macula is damaged on that side... the macula is part of the retina where your vision actually forms, so her sight in that left eye is compromised. I can't say for certain, but it's most likely just standard age-related macular degeneration setting in.

Michelle Price66 said:If you’re actually looking into your thyroid, don't just let some doctor tell you that checking your TSH is enough—because honestly, they'll just give you that breezy, "you're fine" shrug while only testing the pituitary hormone that regulates everything else, which tells you absolutely nothing about what's actually happening with the gland itself. You really need to push for an ultrasound and get your fT3 and fT4 levels checked too, though if you don't want to wait forever in some endless hospital queue just to get a basic reading, you might have to shell out for a private clinic to get things moving.

Good luck! 🙂

P.S. Regardless of whether you've actually got mono or not, I’d swear by taking some B vitamins; grab some affordable ones at CVS, because they genuinely helped me when I was dealing with mono and those constant mouth sores, and even after I recovered, I kept taking them, and honestly, the inflammation vanished, my fatigue leveled out, and I actually started having an appetite again!

😉

Thanks everyone, I'll give it a shot and see...

Peter Jackson4 said:I just can't shake the feeling that how accurate those blood pressure monitors are really just comes down to whoever is sitting there taking the reading, because let's be honest, some people have much sharper hearing than others, right?

I mean, you aren't wrong, but I still lean toward thinking the manual ones are more reliable than those digital gadgets... and honestly, it's pretty easy to test that theory yourself if you just check your numbers every day, because if they stay consistent, then you clearly know what you're doing, don't you?

Angela Nelson73 said:Scott Allen10 hit the nail on the head there, because honestly, since when can you actually feel a pulse just by poking at a vein???
I mean, it’s obviously an artery, right?

Yeah, yeah, obviously! It was just my own clumsy brain acting up... my bad....
The Twilight of Cardiac Surgery in America in Health ·
Me, a cardiologist?😁 😁 ...Nah, not really... let's just say on the rare occasions my wife is actually in the mood, I play part-time amateur gynecologist...😁 😁 😁 👋

So what do you actually do for a living then? You clearly know your way around medical stuff... I honestly walked away from this conversation thinking you were a cardiologist.

Michelle Price66 said:Mononucleosis doesn't just show up in basic blood work; they usually run liver function tests too, and sometimes they'll even send you in for throat swabs, though I'm guessing they skipped that part with you.

Nah, now I actually have to go deal with all that... I've still got a few more tests to get through, and they told me I need to get my thyroid checked out as well, which sounds just lovely.

Oh, please... as if there's some other magical way to do this, because if you're hooking up a cuff with a stethoscope, you obviously put those earpieces in so you can actually hear a pulse, and while I might have tripped over my own words, for heaven's sake, I know how to take blood pressure.
I don't know... honestly, I doubt it... Hepatitis C is spread through blood, not just casual social contact, though you could technically catch it from shared razors or toothbrushes if you're unlucky enough... hm... I guess not

But wouldn't that show up on some basic lab work, you know? I don't know, I've still got a few more tests lined up so we'll see what the doctors actually find, though I'm really hoping it isn't something scary like cancer... Besides, I don't even have a fever, just those specific symptoms I mentioned earlier... and the occasional muscle spasms..
Blood pressure monitoring tips? in Health ·
Honestly, it’s not even that much of a headache if you just wrap the cuff tight enough around your arm so the stethoscope sits right over your artery, then you just keep pumping until that pulse completely vanishes, and once you let the pressure off slowly, you just have to remember the exact moment you felt the beat and the exact moment it died out... and there you go, because let's be real, those manual cuffs are still the only things actually worth a damn when it comes to accuracy.
Maybe you picked up some kind of gut infection or something along those lines... the main thing is to stay hydrated, but if you can't even keep water down without throwing up, you really need to head to the ER and get an IV.
Bumps on my junk—is this normal? in Women's Health ·
Honestly, you should just go see a doctor... I mean, sure, it could totally be nothing more than a simple pimple, but what if it isn't? You'll just end up sitting there spiraling, wondering what would have happened if you'd actually bothered to get checked out, so just go, it’s not like an appointment is going to break the bank or anything, and even if everything turns out fine, at least you'll finally have that peace of mind knowing it really was just a pimple.
Why did I pass out? in Health ·
Well, at least you didn't accidentally bite your tongue through... if you actually had epilepsy, an EEG would have flagged it, so that's one less thing to worry about, though it was probably just your blood pressure spiking because your body decided to freak out over the news, which, honestly, is a pretty standard reaction
Anyone know what this is??? in Health ·
I feel like my tongue is completely swollen, swallowing is a total nightmare, I’ve got this rash spreading across my chest, I can barely even open my mouth, my jaw is aching, and I’m just feeling incredibly weak and exhausted... I went to see a doctor who put me on some Augmentin, but honestly, it hasn't done a damn thing for me. They initially suspected an allergy, but then the lab work at the local clinic came back totally normal... Now, even talking is a struggle because everything feels so inflamed and puffy. I did deal with pneumonia about two years ago, and now the doctors are just scratching their heads, so I'm heading in for a throat swab and a neurology appointment next. If there are any actual doctors out there who might have a clue what this could be, please, let me know... thanks
