How can I even put this... I’d love to see !!! and Nirvana again, and The Hold Steady are definitely on my radar, but honestly? I’d much rather grab a drink while listening to The Stooges than deal with Leto Stuke.
Basically, it makes zero sense for bands that have been teased as headliners for ages to be playing the same slots, especially when there's plenty of other garbage they could be paired with instead.
Every single festival with two or more stages has overlapping sets. Honestly, it's better here since there aren't even that many good bands playing anyway..
But that’s exactly the point. They have four great bands and they're all clashing with each other instead of clashing with garbage acts. It's stupid. Plus, there's zero bike parking. Even stupider. 😳
Personally, I think Sigur Rós is total garbage, though maybe Mogwai is slightly less bad. It’s just boring, exhausting, way too pretentious, and completely lacks any kind of soul or wit.
I got the song first, then they handed me a t-shirt as a gift after the set ended 😍
Tedek 😍
The guy is seriously the nicest. Just pure positivity. Always smiling, a little clumsy and goofy, and honestly just super sweet 🙂 but he plays like a total pro 😁 basically, an incredible show.
Hey, if Mike is coming down from college, talk him into staying one more night in LA so he can play us something 😁 anything 😳 it’ll definitely beat the college kids 😳
Actually, you know what? Maybe those college bands will actually be better on the main stage. You listen more, watch less, and there isn't that lukewarm, low-effort crowd energy... I don't know. That stage felt smaller than the venue in Brooklyn. I was pretty close to the front and still felt totally unimpressed. The sound was fine, but the overall vibe was zero. Meanwhile, the Melvins—who were just okay when they played in Chicago—absolutely crushed it on that exact same stage. And they're doing it again tomorrow 😁
The lineup isn't any more concrete than it was before. Honestly, they always keep this stuff under wraps until the last second. Not even 🎉!🙂!👋 is official yet 🙂 . I’m also stuck on how they have those massive headliners playing in Paris one night and then 😳 the next morning.
Anyway, this festival is going to be killer. I'm genuinely stoked that Washington, D.C. is getting an event like this, regardless of whatever drama is happening behind the scenes. I think America needs a few more powerhouse festivals. I just hope it stays under the radar and keeps growing every year 😳
And I bet the turnout will be way higher than the 2k we saw at Sonic Youth. People will show up for TBF too 😬
Honestly, a guy from a small town like rural Alabama wouldn't be able to pull this off alone, not even if he wanted to. We're talking massive amounts of cash here. 🤔 Besides, it’s just not cool to throw specific names and details out onto the internet without any context.
It's gonna be legendary. I'm heading over to Ticketmaster right now to grab my $67 👋
I’d have to agree with Ruth Bader Ginsburg that Boyz II Men should’ve been in the same league as those Scandinavian bands that played before Electric Frankenstein.😳
