I'm with you.
Watching them struggle through those cramped tunnels was actually more nauseating than anything else
since there’s zero ventilation, no windows, and absolutely no light.
That sense of claustrophobia hit me way harder and felt much more intense than the rest of the movie.
*Especially with those mutated fish-men, bats, or whatever they were supposed to be.
It's pretty predictable, too—way too many female characters and the writing for them is just weak.
I also agree with what you said about those "creatures" being a bit underwhelming when it comes to their actual hunting skills
and I'm really hoping it was all just some hallucination the women were having.*

The ending worked for me, though.
Yeah, for me it's easily one of the better parts, right up there with those first few minutes.

😕

Why are the characters so poorly written?

cosmicraven2 said:Recently, the producer of the Resident Evil movie, Jeremy Bolt, stated that these claims are inaccurate and that everyone has completely misinterpreted the situation regarding a fifth installment being a reboot. In reality, the fourth film, Afterlife, serves as the start of a new trilogy. That is all there is to it. Furthermore, Milla Jovovich mentioned on Twitter that a fifth film will happen if Afterlife performs well enough at the box office—which it certainly will, considering every single sequel has outperformed its predecessor.

...maybe it’s time we reclaim what’s ours😍

While Sony Pictures is gearing up for Resident Evil: Afterlife, the 3D sequel set to hit theaters on August 27, 2010, Bloody Disgusting has exclusively (and officially) learned that the studio is already eyeing the fifth installment. Even though Milla Jovovich in Afterlife is a done deal, keeping
her in the mix is likely becoming a massive expense and a logistical headache, despite her marriage to producer Paul W. S. Anderson. Rather than pushing the current narrative further, the studio
is actually mapping out a bit of a reboot, currently referred to as Resident Evil: Begins. It is still quite a ways off, but the concept involves reimagining the saga of an elite military squad
battling a rogue supercomputer and a swarm of scientists who turned into flesh-eating monsters following a lab disaster.

Oh man, seriously... :klap:
I know I was more excited than I've ever been when I bought the gameplay footage, but instead, I just got a full-on review of the Resident Evil movie 😍
At first, I thought they were great and all, but now I'm just completely let down by all the sequels (I don't even count Degeneration among those starring Milla) because they don't follow the game's plot at all.
With a storyline like that, the movie could have easily had a different name entirely. Romero should have taken the Resident Evil title like he originally intended, and the first film should have featured the S.T.A.R.S. team, Wesker, Birkin, and the rest of the crew.
Raccoon City should have been the main setting, with the S.T.A.R.S. members as the core characters. 🤷 Simple as that.
I've been a massive fan of the game since '96 when the PlayStation first came out, so it's just such a shame we never got a high-quality adaptation that actually does justice to the game.

Or maybe it's just some heavy techno beat.

If the main guy is driving, say an old beat-up Chevy Bolt, he’s gotta have at least 300 HP under the hood... plus he'll be heavy, like 2,000 lbs, just so he can ram a Cadillac right off the road

If you need to, the car can pull a hard stop using 1.2-inch brakes

Look, if you don't have a gun and you take out the bad guy, there's zero point in looting his weapon. It's the same deal if you've only got one magazine and there's 40 enemies left to kill

When you're staring down a massive horde of zombies, always grab the shotgun with 8 shells. Doesn't matter if you've got five boxes of ammo sitting right next to you

If some supernatural freak starts chasing you, split up. Do it by design or by accident, I don't care, just get apart

If someone close to you turns into a monster... let them kill you. Or let them turn you into one too... just let it happen

It's always gonna come down to picking the blue wire or the red wire

Everybody knows who James Bond is. And everyone knows that everybody knows it... except for Bond himself, and maybe the villain every once in a while

But who's actually going to carry all that gear? 😳

Exactly.
I watched it all the way through and was totally blown away.
The pacing is spot on, with zero filler or boring scenes.
On top of the horror elements, there's plenty of black humor that is great.
Definitely one of my favorite movies...

Dead Set (2008) in Movies ·
Dead Set is an American series (movie) consisting of five episodes centered on a zombie infestation.
To prevent this from being just another generic horror flick, the story unfolds during the filming of a season of Big Brother.
The pilot introduces us to the production crew and the contestants living inside the Big Brother house. During an elimination night, an infected individual crashes into the crowd of fans, sparking the chaos.
Before long, everyone is a walking corpse. The houseguests, confused by the fact that Big Brother isn't intervening in the madness, assume it’s all just another psychological test—at least until one of the production assistants stumbles into the house covered in blood.

Anthony Smith3 said:Sequel to one of the most acclaimed horror films of our time—"The Descent". This time, director Neil Marshall has been replaced by newcomer Jon Harris, who actually worked as an editor on the 2005 "The Descent." He’s also handled similar work on hits like "Snatch," "Layer Cake," and "Eden Lake." Marshall is still sticking around as an executive producer, though. For those who saw the original, you know there were two different endings—the American version and the British version. One was basically a happy ending, while the other was a total disaster. This movie picks up right after the "happy" one. Actresses Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Jackson Mendoza, Saskia Mulder, Alex Reid, Nora-Jane Noone and MyAnna Buring are all reprising their roles, while everyone else is mostly new faces. It's being filmed at a British location and the UK premiere is set for May 15th...

As the search team pushes deeper into unexplored tunnels, terrifying flashbacks start hitting Sarah, making her realize just how hopeless this whole mission actually is.
