Logan's Run (1976) in Movies ·
It’s a decent enough film. Aside from the obvious financial incentives, I struggle to see what other motivations could possibly drive a studio to greenlight a remake of an original classic—because, let’s be honest, they certainly aren't doing it for the aesthetic merits. 😉

I’ve had this on VHS sitting on my shelf for years. It’s a brilliant piece of cinema. After all, he’s the one who really broke through in the USA.

I can't help but feel that Spielberg lost his edge after that. It’s almost as if Hollywood's influence began to erode his vision.

Brian Williams said:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! What a series! Truly exceptional. I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, though I have to say, the opening credits were quite captivating 😁 but I found myself falling for it all too quickly 😁 😁 😁 I am practically counting the days until the next installment!

I also fell for it because of that intro; it really is a stroke of genius. 👍

Ah, I see now. My apologies. 🙂

Regarding the series itself, I find the naturalism used to portray the characters and the whole Circus lifestyle quite striking. It provides such an unusual, dreamlike atmosphere as a contrast.

I wasn't aware it had been pulled from the air. A real pity.

That comes after the spy stuff. 😁

The series is quite peculiar; steeped in mysticism, surrealism—and mud. Everyone there seems perpetually filthy and covered in dust. 😁

I find it quite compelling, actually. I haven't missed a single episode thus far. 🙂
Question about cancer in Health ·
Is fear and anxiety actually a positive thing? 😉

ironnomad12 said:The reason you won't get cancer is because you're too afraid of it to ever let it happen.🙂
I suffer from those same constant anxieties regarding illness myself... though perhaps
it won't touch me since I tend to maintain a rather upbeat disposition.

Based on what theory, exactly? 🙄

In fact, that might be the very thing that causes it—creating the condition through sheer autosuggestion.
Janica: Three appearances, three golds in Other Sports ·
Janica deserves her own monument, regardless of what this sub thinks. 😁 No offense intended. 🙂
Dealing with Anemia in Health ·
I didn't explicitly state—nor did I necessarily imply—that death resulted from overeating. Rather, my point was regarding the absence of meat within the diet, particularly since I was building upon the narrative shared by Blue. Until a child moves past puberty, meat remains a necessity; it provides the essential proteins and vital compounds required for healthy growth and physical development.

That’s hardly a unique tragedy; there are certainly darker instances on the record. A few years back in Canada, a child lost their life because the parents insisted on a strictly vegetarian diet. 🙄
Kristina said:Well, I have run into a bit of an issue.
Over the last few months, I’ve noticed some rather prominent facial hair appearing where there wasn't any before—or at least, nothing nearly this visible—specifically along my jawline.

Were you perhaps using your teeth to unscrew some hair regrowth lotion meant for a man? 😉
Championship Finals: USA vs. Spain in Other Sports ·
Good grief, we’re going to absolutely dismantle them. They've been our regular targets for quite some time now. 😁

I missed that one, unfortunately. A real shame, I suppose.

I am not getting worked up. 😁

Henry Barrett11 said:The moment you mentioned stylized erotic horror, that exact movie was the first thing that popped into my head.

Pure madness, if you ask me.😁

True, it’s certainly an oddity. But what’s even stranger is that the bureaucrats over at NBC actually decided to air it. 👍

Exactly, this is the one! 👋 🎉

Isn't the film just magnificent? 🙂 I occasionally find myself thinking back to that brilliant little kid, but whenever I ask anyone about it, they seem to have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about. To be honest, even I was misled by the language; I spent time searching for it under French cinema, only to realize the director is actually Poljak. 🙂

My thanks to everyone for the effort, particularly you. 😘

Years, Scott Hayes14, years. 😁 I wouldn't even bother asking if I didn't already know the answer. 😉

The timing seems roughly right, and I will look into the title. Thank you. 🙂>

Or perhaps not. 🙄 I’ve scoured the various forums on the net, and I can't recall seeing a single scene like that.

While Neil Jordan seems like an intriguing director, this isn't the one. The search continues. Regardless, thanks again for the effort. 🙂

I believe we have finally arrived at the conclusion. Thank you. 🙂
