It turns out I’ve been manually typing out my BBCode tags using lowercase—like [u.rl=][/u.rl]—but for some reason, this forum has been strictly requiring uppercase for the last few days, specifically [U.RL=][/U.RL]. It’s honestly pretty annoying, especially since you used to be able to mix cases however you wanted and didn't have to worry about whether the URL was inside quotes or not.

Yeah, this board is being picky and only accepting uppercase tags right now. I ran into the same thing a couple of times trying to use

Yeah, it's totally possible we're looking at a server error here.

That whole tactic stopped working ages ago... honestly don't know why anyone bothers anymore lol🤣

Who knows, really...
The whole debate surrounding Biden's private messages has come up several times before, and honestly, it’s probably because of all those suspicions that turned out to be nothing but false alarms.

I definitely am, and you can rest easy knowing I’m not digging through anyone's private messages. Even the admins don't have the clearance to do that.

Do you actually believe everything you read online?☕
btw, do you ever bother looking back at threads from 5 years🙄 ago?

Or maybe just clear your browser cookies—I know, technically they shouldn't really affect this, but it's worth a shot.
It's entirely possible the forum servers were just acting up at that moment; they tend to glitch out pretty frequently.
I actually ran into something similar today when I tried to open a thread containing a PDF. I got an error message saying the thread didn't even exist, but once I hit refresh, everything worked perfectly fine.

If you head over to your profile, you’ll see:
* A little bit about me * Bureau of Labor Statistics * Violations Contact Info

If you click on that bolded option, everything should be laid out right there for you—it'll show you exactly what kind of violations or points you've got on your record.
Quick question for the mods and admins... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
silverjackal said:So you think that isn't an insult??? Give me a break. Ludacris already touched on this topic a few posts back... and look, they're right. People are always getting picked on in the threads or the chat. Fine, whatever, that happens. But when I get slapped with a penalty and they don't? That's where things start looking sketchy to me.

I mean, technically speaking, it counts, but most people don't really give a damn about it, just like they don't care about any random PDF file on a forum.🤷

If someone calls me a "retard" or goes full nuclear with something like "f*** you," I’m reporting them instantly—though honestly, I’d probably throw in a "moron" or "idiot" for good measure myself. If that person then gets posted by the moderator, but I'm the one who ends up getting hit with a strike instead of them, then I'm reporting the moderator without a second thought.

In the future, if this happens to you again and you feel like you've been unfairly penalized (meaning, the other person got off scot-free), report the moderator too if they can't give you a logical reason for why they did what they did.
Quick question for the mods and admins... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
silverjackal said:Look, maybe they actually are.🤷

Maybe that's just the rule now and it's allowed.🤷

Every moderator gets close with certain users, so there's definitely a possibility—or you could just suggest via PM that they shouldn't—that a moderator might look out for someone. In your case, that specific moderator might be protecting that person. But at the end of the day, they have to show some teeth and enforce the rules regardless of how friendly things are.

As far as the rules go, we're talking about blatant insults. Like when you call someone a moron, start swearing at their mother, or use heavy profanity. You probably just pushed back a bit too hard against that person, which is why you caught a ban.
For example, back when I got flagged a few times, it was usually for the exact same reason—reacting to what others were doing.
Terms like "idiot" or "moron" might still fly under the radar for the moderators.

silverjackal said:I mean, I would never report anyone. I’ve never actually reported an insult or anything like that, but I did get punished myself. I was actually harsher than the person who insulted me, so I deserved it... but the question remains: are words like "idiot" or "you're stupid" actually punishable? Because if so, I should be able to go a little harder too...🤷

I don't report people either. I only reported someone once or twice last summer, and nothing since then.
Whether a specific moderator sticks strictly to those rules is something you'll only find out by asking them directly.

bluebison8 said:Let’s be honest: all these battles against non-Saiyan opponents are just plain stupid. Every single one of Goku's enemies just shows up out of nowhere, already maxed out. There is zero backstory, zero buildup. While we get a front-row seat to how Goku achieves his new power levels, everyone else is just handed theirs. The internal logic of this universe is completely broken.

And don't even get me started on those ridiculous dragons in GT. Those Dragonballs were basically created by a bunch of idiots, considering Goku bypassed their entire power scale the moment he became a Super Saiyan. He spent all that time learning how to multiply his strength by 2x, 3x, or 4x, and then suddenly, the dragons from those balls are supposedly strong enough to rival him?
Give me a break.
Every fight after the Super Saiyan era feels like the work of some hyper-obsessed geek author who probably hasn't spoken to a woman in his entire life.

What do you mean there's no history? If you actually pay attention, you'll realize they show glimpses of the Sayianac origins all the time.
And Frieza's history was discussed too, explaining what he was like, just not as much as Goku's.
Regarding the power bypassing... Sayianacs are used to their specific "combat" strength, the way they always fight with it, whereas Goku learned how to actually increase his ceiling.
Take the start of the Z saga, for example... When Vegeta arrived on Earth, he was shocked at how Goku had become stronger and faster in an instant. And back then, Vegeta had a power level around 16,000.
Goku faced him with 4,000 and gradually grew stronger through the fight. They both almost died in that battle, but once Vegeta recovered, he also gained that ability to control his power.

To me, everything is perfectly logical and tightly woven together. They always throw in a retrospective, right? Like, when Trunks arrives, you finally learn everything about the androids and how they came to be. And Frieza is a totally logical progression from the Saiyan Saga since you find out Vegeta was actually his soldier/underling...
Besides, the backstories of how they gained that much power aren't even necessary. That would just be useless filler episodes that would bore the audience to death... You have plenty of info on him: he's a super powerful alien conquering planets, building armies from the locals, and trying to rule the entire universe. He wants those Dragonballs because he's terrified someone stronger will show up... It's a perfectly logical story...

Exactly, and the androids were giving even SSY Goku a hard time. I think it was Vegeta who saved him back then, having managed to transform after intense training (which makes sense, considering how jealous he was of Goku's progress).
Frieza is a crazy character to me^^—he's so small, sitting in those floating chairs, yet possesses such devastating power. He can also transform into different forms, though he rarely had to since he was always fighting "weaklings." I reckon Frieza's first form is around 250,000, which is huge. Meanwhile, SSY Goku is around 4,000,000.
Regarding Vegeta being Frieza's soldier, he never really liked it, and Vegeta was determined to become immortal because that was his only way to beat Frieza.
As for the rest of the post, I agree.😉
It always seems to go the same way in this series—some bigger threat just pops up to humble them. You see it with Frieza vs Gok, then Cell vs everyone, followed by Buu vs Goku, and finally that whole Dragon vs Goku-Vegeta situation.

Donna Price said:Hmm, honestly, I can't stand that part. It feels so ridiculous having this endless stream of transformations. Even back in the Buu saga, that Super Saiyan 3 thing—you know, the one where they get that absurdly long hair and lose their eyebrows? It was way too much. And don't even get me started on those fusion dances... it's just silly. I mean, it doesn't drive me crazy right now, but still, I absolutely love Dragon Ball Z.🙂
As for GT, I thought it was incredibly stupid how Goku turned back into a kid again. Plus, those space adventures felt way too childish, like some knock-off version of Pokémon or something... 🤷
Oh, and I also noticed they totally changed the art style! For example, Trunks looks completely underwhelming in GT, and honestly, everyone looks like a cheap plastic action figure with that weird, tacky shine on them...

Look... personally, I don't mind having more of them. It’s actually a good way to see how much a character progresses throughout the whole series. You can see them getting stronger and stronger. I remember an episode where Goku was powering up and trying to hit that SSY3 form, and he almost wiped out Earth because there was just too much energy being released.
As for Buu, I think Goku had to go SSY4 because that guy was a massive challenge for him. If I recall correctly, he sent him flying into space with a Kamehameha.
Though, it feels a bit weird to me since Buu doesn't even seem that powerful.
The fusions are cool to me, too, since you get two characters merging into one to become even stronger.
I think you can see the fusion of Vegeta and Goku in the final episode of GT.
I agree about child Goku being a letdown. I spent the whole time just waiting for the first few seasons to wrap up so the Z Saga could actually start, because that part is great.😉
Regarding that shiny look, I think it's fine; it shows how the effects and computer animation have improved throughout the series.
Trunk had medium-length hair at the start, and then later on, once he grew up, he let it grow out.
Look, we all know this forum can get glitchy sometimes—server errors happen, or maybe we're dealing with some kind of targeted attack or whatever. But honestly? I have absolutely no clue what's going on this time.
Transformers in Movies ·
Look, GT isn't quite on the same level as the Z saga, but it’s still decent enough—mostly just because I'm into the future transformations and those fresh fight sequences. My one real gripe is how short the run is; there just aren't enough episodes to really sink into. But hey, who knows... maybe a brand new series would actually turn out better than GT ever did.
We might never know for sure.

So, all this editing and tweaking is basically just an attempt to make the show match the manga...
For a 20th anniversary, they really could have gone bigger—like launching an entirely new series—but whatever, I guess this will do...

It feels like a reworked version of the Z series, though they’ve played around with the episode order a bit.
