Sophia Brooks24 said:If you want proof of how the Alternative is moderated, just look at the "Alternative and Cultism" thread. It was a discussion meant to help people distinguish true skeptics from cultists and scammers, yet it was torpedoed by the Health board in record time. They sent it over there, then pulled it back, leaving it invisible for a while before it started jumping between subforums. On the Alternative, you aren't allowed to criticize the platform itself. The moderators are biased and completely lacking objectivity—just like the regular users they protect, who are given free rein to troll and spam any topic they don't like.

Oh, come on, people have been critical here plenty of times. The real issue isn't the criticism itself; it's the difference between someone making an actual, reasoned point and someone just shouting nonsense without any substance. That's where you draw the line between a legitimate user and a common troll.

cosmictinker21 said:So, what’s the deal with this whole Alternative thing???😲

Morgan Hernandez5, Noah Myers8,,, where did everyone go???

We went from having this dynamic PDF where different perspectives—hypotheses, theories, practical applications, spiritual insights, scientific data, mystical views, you name it—actually clashed in a meaningful way, to this absolute mess of senseless bans. It's just devolved into personal vendettas now. Honestly, just leave that stuff alone and deal with it in your actual life. I don't doubt that most people here are rational and well-intentioned; they don't usually let their frustrations manifest through smugness or by deleting posts and handing out bans without any real argument. Looking back at the last few months, sure, the debates were intense, but nobody felt personally attacked by a post or someone else's opinion. Usually, when communication breakdowns happened publicly, they were resolved publicly too, with a decent amount of mutual respect between the people on either side of the screen. Or, at least, they weren't dragged into the spotlight through other users who had nothing to do with the private spat.

I’m asking this publicly: why was the psychopathy thread pulled from the forum? The topic was thoroughly covered; interest in it had naturally tapered off. Fine, it dropped down a page. Whatever. It was still accessible to anyone interested in reading about it, just like any other topic. But now, it’s nowhere to be found in the space visible to the average Joe. And I actually really need some links to illustrate certain types of antisocial behavior...🤷

I second everything said, and I’ll add one more thing:

Those discussions didn't even earn a single warning. How does it make sense that they suddenly justify selectively banning a whole group of users from the entire PDF?

Does anyone else see the massive disproportion between these two criteria? It's like comparing the sky to the ground.

Moderator dustyharbor18:
If you're the one responsible for these bans, then maybe it's time to step down, because you've clearly shown a total misunderstanding of what moderation should be.

And if you were just following orders from someone else to do this, then step down anyway, because it's better to be an honest forum member than a dishonest moderator. I highly doubt anyone is paying you enough to sell out your own integrity; the position isn't worth that.

When it comes to theories, I don't care what they're based on; all that matters is whether the arguments actually hold water. And trust me, they were well-argued. It shouldn't matter if your source is a morning newspaper or the Book of Revelation—they’re both valid sources of information. If you think the Bible is somehow a problematic source to draw from, then honestly, there's something wrong with you. Furthermore, if you believe that certain viewpoints need to be censored just because they stem from specific sources—or if you want to silence opinions regardless of how sound the logic is—then you aren't just being picky, you're actively practicing censorship of speech.
granitefox16 said:I wouldn't bet against them if I were you; I honestly get the feeling those Frenchmen are playing on a completely different level this year, and I’m willing to put money on them making it all the way to the finals.

Look, let's be real, they've always been a powerhouse because their defense is just rock solid. They might start a tournament looking a little sluggish or out of sync, but the second things get high-stakes, they tighten up and lock everything down. Their offense is kind of a rollercoaster—they have some tournaments where they look unstoppable and others where they struggle to find any rhythm—but as long as that defense stays elite, they can grind out a win. Even if their offense is just mediocre on any given night, that defensive wall is enough to carry them through.
Samuel Baker3 said:omeyer had 24 saves, sitting at 55%, though half of those were just easy shots

Look, if half of those were just easy saves, then we're looking at a pretty mediocre defense here. If you strip those out and say he actually had 16 real saves—which would put him at around 37%—that’s perfectly fine, but it's certainly nothing to write home about. At that rate, they would've let in about 28 goals, which honestly isn't exactly a blowout. The problem is that stats never tell you the whole story; they don't show whether the shots were legitimate attempts or just desperate, low-percentageHail Marys from way out of position. If half the shots being faced were just garbage attempts, it's not exactly hard to pad a goalie's stats, is it?
The Spanish are throwing their hats in the ring for the gold...
Samuel Baker3 said:The way the Frenchies are playing right now is straight-up criminal; they’re missing shots like they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. And don't even get me started on that defense—it’s a whole different level of incompetence. It felt like the Czechs were just taking a casual stroll through their zone without anyone even trying to stop them. Dinart is just standing there staring at Karabatic, Karabatic is busy watching Gille, and Onesta is basically running around giving everyone a masterclass in how to absolutely wreck a game. 🙏

They only let in 20 goals during the match, and you're seriously calling that a stroll for the Czechs?

The ban on accessing Alternative regarding you four applies specifically to analyses of current military and political events that rely on alleged connections to the Book of Revelation. I guess the core thesis of the main ideological defender behind these military analyses is that World War III and the subsequent apocalypse are somehow desirable for humanity, serving as a firm and eagerly awaited guarantee of the return of Jesus.
It goes without saying that this kind of tone regarding military-political conspiracies has attracted a certain number of Christians whose views seem pretty bizarre and extreme—if not outright extremist—to most people.
Of course, such controversial stances have also drawn opposition, along with a fair amount of rude, uneducated, and naive forum users.

Since the participants described here show an increasingly low level of tolerance for differing views, the Alternative moderators are using this action to sharply distance themselves from such positions, which they consider utterly unacceptable from a civilized and humanistic perspective.

George Turner2, driftinggull13

As for you and others who take a stand based on skepticism, rationality, and logic against irrational, inaccurate, and uninformed views—the answer is completely different. Alternative has never distanced itself from you. In fact, any constructive opposition is always welcome.
Just to be clear, driftinggull13, since you’re the one with the most toxic, cynical language on this forum—something you actually pride yourself on while enjoying your own toxic posts—you should probably take responsibility for your sweet insults toward chlorine and silver solutions or bowel cleansers, especially given how much you enjoy pushing your opinions on them.
So, just to avoid confusion—it’s the manner in which you do it that is being criticized. I don't see any reason why your views couldn't be presented in a benevolent and educational way.

I suppose their views were just too "alternative" for the Alternative. Or maybe they only want views on the Alternative that show a healthy dose of skepticism toward the Alternative itself.

This is nothing more than a speech ban wrapped up in a pile of seemingly benign words, and as for who actually pulled the trigger on this group ban and at what level of authority, we can only speculate.

Personally, I know how I argued, and honestly, I don't even fit into the description provided, but then again, I don't consider myself central to the topic since I wasn't one of those "true analysts"—I was just participating incidentally. So, it's crystal clear to me that I've been banned simply because of the side I took and the support I offered. It’s transparently obvious that one school of thought is being silenced, while the group that was creating unarguable confusion remains untouched.

They can write whatever they want here as an explanation, but the truth is as plain as day.

Wait, am I the only one who can't find the Alternative PDF? Does anyone else see old posts from the Alternative when they try searching? Are we all looking at the same screen here?

I can't see my PDF, and I can't find any of my old posts either—it’s like everything just vanished into thin air. Is that PDF even still live and we're just being blocked from seeing it, or was the whole thing wiped clean?
Banned from the Alternative community??? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The entire Alternative section has just vanished, and honestly, we don't even have a paper trail left; were our posts 🤷wiped clean or just shoved into some private admin folder?

I mean, go ahead and call me paranoid if you think I’m just chasing 'conspiracy theories,' 🤷but how do you explain an entire subforum disappearing along with every single thread? 😕

And seriously, how is any user who actually contributed to Alternative supposed to be okay with this kind of management?
Adam Collins4 said:Look, I was actually there in person when those Scandinavians were claiming our handball academies were the absolute best on the planet... and I'm talking about programs that start training kids from basically the moment they can walk...

Honestly, I don't see how ours could possibly be better than the Scandinavian schools; their systems are top-tier.

The real test would happen if we actually swapped training materials and coaching styles. You just can't compare the temperament of a Swede to an American, and athletic talent isn't some universal constant either. People from our neck of the woods tend to lean into the trickery of the game—that flair for improvisation and those wild, unpredictable plays—and frankly, you just can't teach that kind of instinct.
Chris Ortiz said:So, who are our homegrown basketball stars, anyway?🤣🤣

It’s true, we don't really have them. But when you step back and look at the landscape in Europe, there really aren't many true superstars who actually stand out from the pack. You’ve got Dirk Nowitzki, sure, or maybe Pau Gasol, but beyond that? You just don't see those elite, pure shooters like Steve Nash popping up very often.

I honestly don't know what to think about our handball program anymore. We have this incredible knack for producing absolute superstars—one generation was just untouchable—but then there’s this massive, gaping void between those elite talents and everyone else. You know what's missing? That reliable middle class of players. We need that solid core of dependable guys you can actually count on when the stars end up on the injury list. For a national team with a reputation as prestigious as ours, it’s frankly embarrassing to see them rolling out half-baked players; it really shouldn't be happening at this level. But at this point, you feel forced into it. It’s even more pathetic because, on top of having such a thin bench, we're dealing with all this political nonsense where certain players get snubbed or sidelined for questionable reasons. It’s a disgrace that we lose out on essential pieces like defensive specialists, or how we've historically had to sacrifice talented wingers and goalkeepers just to play politics. It's exhausting to watch.
It all really boils down to how much grit the Mexicans can muster on the defensive end and whether the chemistry within their squad actually holds up. Last time I tuned in to watch them, they were swinging wildly between being absolutely unstoppable and looking like total black holes on the court, and you just can't win a major tournament when you're that inconsistent. But hey, if they finally tighten up that defense, they could actually go pretty far.

Personally, I’ve always had my eye on Denmark as a top contender because, in my book, they run the best handball academy in the world; they just keep churning out high-level talent. A lot of other teams rely heavily on having one killer starting six, but I haven't seen the Danes struggle with bench depth in years, which is a huge advantage.

Then you look at the French, and man, when it comes to a heavy-hitting starting lineup, they are in a league of their own. They pair a lethal offense with a defense that's basically an impenetrable wall—if they're motivated, they'll shut anyone down to under 20 goals, and once that happens, well, you're just screwed.
I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but if we're talking about Fortaleza, I guess we're just staring into the void of absolute chaos again. It’s one of those places that just makes you want to sit back, crack a beer, and wonder how things ever get to this point. kaže:
image Denmark

The Danes really hit their stride two years ago when they started tearing through the competition and snatching gold medals left and right, but honestly, it feels like they’ve lost that killer instinct ever since. It’s hard to ignore the massive hole in their lineup, too; their heavy hitters from the perimeter—guys like Boldsen, Jeppesen, and Boesen—aren't even playing for the national team anymore, which is going to be a massive handicap this time around. My first impression isn't exactly glowing, though; sure, they put up plenty of points, but they’re giving away just as many, and they aren't even trying to hide how much their defense is struggling. I mean, they gave up 35 goals against Canada, so you can see the cracks starting to show. Lars Jorgensen He’s not exactly in his prime anymore, so he’s going to have a much tougher time calling the shots on that defense. Kasper Nielsen He’s still nearly three years older than the rest of them, honestly. You look at the roster and Hvidt is still right there in the middle of everything, and frankly, not much has changed when it comes to that center position where he’s basically become absolutely indispensable. Knudsen (Flensburg) his replacement is... Laen Nothing new to report from the left side of the field. It’s all just a facade, isn't it? Everything on the surface is nothing more than a polished veneer designed to hide the messy, complicated reality underneath. Where exactly does this 37-year-old grandpa think he's running the show? Christiansen And honestly, it just keeps getting replaced by something else. Eggert Jensen It’s exactly like what we deal with back in Flint, honestly. You see it right there on the right side. Lindberg Honestly, HSV wasn't exactly tearing it up during the preseason, but they definitely started showing some real teeth once things actually got serious. Svan Hansen (Back to Flensburg again) they absolutely demolished those Canadians and Czechs, putting ten goals past them without breaking a sweat. As for the wingers, we’ve got ourselves a brand new star on the scene. Mikkel Hansen Aside from him, there really aren't any heavy hitters left at Barcelona. During the preseason, it felt like the wingers were the ones taking all the heat. Mogensen (Flensburg) i Spellerberg They didn't exactly stand out in Kolding, they were just more of the same, honestly. Mads Nielsen So, looking back at that game in Silkeborg, who was the one that absolutely tore through Norway and put up seven goals? It’s pretty clear their main threats are coming from those wingers, the pivot, and M. Hansen—they're basically walking weapons at this point.

You’re getting a little ahead of yourself there; Christiansen plays left wing, though that was clearly just a typo since you were talking about the wings anyway. But look, they had plenty of other high-caliber shooters back in the day. I mean, what happened to guys like Leegard—who, let's be real, played more like a left-hander—or Sondergaard? That guy had a cannon in his hand, even if he wasn't quite on Boesen's level. Honestly, the US has such an incredible depth of talent; we're probably the strongest in the world when it comes to that kind of foundation. Out of the three who retired, Boesen is going to be the one we miss the most, while the other two? Well, they'll be forgotten pretty quickly.

The Americans have some seriously killer rap talent, but man, they’re going to feel Vujin’s absence big time; at least they picked up some decent experience during that last tournament. This group is absolute chaos, though—the Austrians are coming in hungry enough to take someone's head off, and you can never count out Iceland when Stefansson is on the floor. It’s going to be one hell of a ride watching this group unfold.

Olivia Evans8 said:Honestly, it’s basically just the same kind of willpower, except you just don't remember the thought process behind it... whereas doing something truly impossible just isn't happening. If you think otherwise, hit me with an example!

Against free will? I don't know... maybe if someone was under some kind of heavy hypnotic conditioning or something.

But then again, you've got self-programming and pure muscle memory to deal with. When you're operating on total autopilot, there's no "will" involved in the moment—unless you count the initial decision to learn the habit in the first place, if we can even call that having a choice.

I can't help but feel like free will is tied directly to consciousness. It's consciousness that allows us to break out of those automatic loops and actually make a deliberate choice instead of just reacting like a programmed machine.

And there's this whole other layer to it too: the struggle between the ego and the true self. You have the ego, which has been conditioned to react in one specific way, constantly clashing with what your inner core is actually trying to push for.
Jeremy Alvarez5 said:Man, I would love that. Do you happen to know anyone you could recommend? Ideally, someone who isn't too far from Los Angeles.

I mean, I get it—there are probably a ton of Christian believers out there who would be pretty uncomfortable if they actually ran into concrete proof that reincarnation might be a real thing. It’s a heavy thought, I guess. If that were ever proven, it feels like it would totally undermine parts of the Bible, wouldn't it? Just a weird thing to wrap your head around, maybe.

The way I see it, the Bible actually points toward at least three different realms. You’ve got this world where we’re all living our lives, then there’s the realm of the dead—which is interesting because they aren't exactly "gone," they're still existing in some capacity. Then, depending on God’s will or during certain moments involving His son Jesus, people might rise from the dead, pass away again, or even ascend into an intermediate space, or maybe just show up in visions like spirits. Finally, you have that third state where Jesus prepares a place for those who believe, which is where everyone settles after Judgment Day. So, my takeaway? Based on how the Bible is written, reincarnation kind of happens, or at least something similar does. I mean, I don't really know how else you'd interpret things like the idea that John the Baptist is Elijah coming back, or stuff like that. As for me personally, I’m a Christian—about as much as my brother's Maltese is a shark. (And I don't even have a brother, haha).

I mean, look, regardless of what the actual truth is, when you're stuck without any real way to know for sure—which is basically why faith even exists in the first place—it’s definitely a possibility. I guess if we can't actually prove what's true, then anything goes, right? Maybe.

If there’s even a chance this is true, then I guess it’s just one more of those little gems God tucked away when He was putting the world together—though it makes you wonder why He’d be so secretive about it all, right?

I don't have anyone, honestly, not even just a general lead. From what I understand, you really need a hypnotist who actually knows their stuff and isn't just playing pretend, because if they aren't pros, there's a legitimate risk of getting stuck in some weird personality loop from a past life or something. I heard about this one person who tried to perform regression on herself and almost completely lost her grip on reality. It was pretty messed up.
Jeremy Alvarez5 said:I don't know, man. I mean, it feels more like free will is just a bunch of nonsense... at least until someone proves otherwise.

If someone can actually prove to me that I'm the reincarnation of some ancient shaman from the Middle East, then maybe I'll give it some serious thought.

When you look at the physical body, sure, that makes sense. But does the soul actually form at conception, or was it already hanging around somewhere before that, just waiting to latch onto a new vessel?

Jeremy Alvarez5 said:I don't know, man. I mean, it feels more like free will is just a bunch of nonsense... at least until someone proves otherwise.

If someone can actually prove to me that I'm the reincarnation of some ancient shaman from the Middle East, then maybe I'll give it some serious thought.

Look, if you're truly willing to go there, just find someone to perform a hypnotic regression on you and record whatever nonsense comes out about your past lives.😉

I mean, I realize there are plenty of Christians out there who would be absolutely miserable if they were ever confronted with actual, concrete evidence suggesting that reincarnation might be a real thing, mostly because it would basically throw parts of the Bible out the window.

But honestly, regardless of what the ultimate truth turns out to be, since we're all just operating in a massive void of knowledge—which is exactly why we rely on faith in the first place—it remains a very real possibility, especially since we can't definitively prove what's true anyway.
Brenda Cooper3 said:A good man is defined by his commitment to doing good and refusing to do harm. 😁

Honestly, that’s probably the most accurate definition you’re going to find out there, 👍 though I only ask because I’m pretty certain there are plenty of people out there who think being a "good person" just means you aren't actively causing chaos, but let's be real—just staying out of trouble isn't quite enough to earn the title.
Look, just pose this question to yourselves and see where you land: is a person actually "good" because they go out of their way to do good things, or are they "good" simply because they manage to avoid doing any harm?
Jeremy Alvarez5 said:So, I've been out here searching for something good, just kind of reflecting on things, you know? Just one of those random thoughts hitting me.

So, I was thinking about this thing from the Bible earlier—you know, how it describes God as being jealous? It’s such an interesting concept when you really sit with it for a second. I mean, it's kind of a wild way to frame things, right? Just a thought that's been rattling around in my head.

So, you're saying that people are just inherently bad by nature—which, I mean, I guess I could probably dive a bit deeper into how I landed on that conclusion if you really want to get into it—but then you look at the state of the world today and... well, just look at this mess:

I guess you could say being human is kind of like being "thrown" into existence—nobody exactly checked with us first to see if we actually wanted to show up, right?

So, look, we’re all here trying to find our footing and carve out a space for ourselves, mostly because most people aren't exactly wired for masochism, right? I mean, let's be real—most of us aren't out here chasing fame or trying to become the next big CEO just for the sake of ego. Most people are just trying to live a decent, normal life on this planet. But even when you're just trying to exist peacefully, life tends to throw some stuff at you. It's like, you're just cruising along, and then you run into these things:

It feels like everyone is just constantly clashing with one another in every way imaginable. I mean, honestly, a huge chunk of people across America are basically just fighting tooth and nail over tiny scraps of land or whatever resources they can grab just to keep food on the table and stay afloat. It’s kind of heavy when you think about it, I guess. I guess I’ve been stuck in these deep, existential headspace loops lately... just thinking about life and everything. It’s one of those things that hits you out of nowhere, you know? One minute you're fine, and the next, you're staring at the ceiling wondering what any of this actually means. Maybe it's just me being overly dramatic, but sometimes the big questions feel a little heavy. I mean, honestly, we can't really call that kind of thing "charity" or "kindness." It’s just not right to frame it that way. Think about it—so many incredible artists, brilliant scientists, and those unsung heroes who shaped our world didn't have it easy. They weren't just handed a living; they were forced by circumstance to grind and hustle just to survive. It was necessity, plain and simple, not some grand act of generosity. I guess when you look at it that way, calling it "goodness" feels a bit off, maybe even a little misplaced.

I don't know, it feels like death is just lurking around every corner lately, you know? Like, one minute you're fine, and the next, sickness hits or you're dealing with that soul-crushing boredom that comes from having zero opportunities because of poverty. It makes you start questioning if any of this even matters. And then there’s the whole thing with physical desires... I mean, nobody asks for those, right? You're just born with them, whether you want them or not. It seems like people everywhere are just constantly battling these basic struggles. Even the weather—the atmosphere itself—really messes with how our bodies feel and honestly, probably even how much we can actually focus or learn on any given day. It’s heavy stuff. And then there's the darker side of survival, where we have to basically destroy or change nature just to put food on the table... I guess even the most extreme stuff, like cannibalism, isn't entirely out of the question in the grand scheme of things. It’s no wonder people are scared to have kids these days. I mean, if you can barely scrape by yourself, how are you supposed to give a child a decent life? People are too wrapped up in these massive existential anxieties to even enjoy the little things. Everything feels so high-stakes. Even when it comes to the consequences of our actions—whether it's a full-blown war or just some stupid argument with a neighbor—the connection between what we do and what happens next feels so blurry. We're constantly second-guessing ourselves, forced to watch others get torn apart, either figuratively or, well, literally. And then you add in all the different moral codes, religions, and cults... there are just so many ways to look at the world, and honestly, it's overwhelming. There's no clear roadmap. It feels like these endless hardships are just forcing us to... well, I guess I'll stop there. It's a lot to process. I guess I'm just looking around, trying to find something... maybe? Not sure what I'm searching for yet, honestly. Just kind of browsing. It’s like... there's this higher purpose to everything, I guess. It’s not something you just stumble upon all at once, either. It sort of reveals itself to you, slowly, as you go along. Maybe that's just how it works.GodSo, what I'm trying to get at is... how can people actually be "good"—you know, like truly recognized as good people—when they're living within systems that are just fundamentally broken? Like, how do you find those little pockets of goodness or manage to stay upright during the pauses between all the absolute chaos and messiness of life? I guess it’s about finding those moments of grace when everything else is falling apart.

I guess I actually see things the complete opposite way. If you ask me, people are pretty much good at heart by nature, you know? It’s just that life tends to throw so much crap at us—it can be so forced and honestly just plain unsatisfying sometimes. People end up searching for answers and trying to find a way out of the mess, but... They just don't get it, I guess. I mean, it’s just human nature to mess up and end up disappointed, you know? We all fall into those same old patterns and bad habits. I wouldn't go so far as to say people are inherently evil, though. It feels more like the world itself—or Mother Nature, or even God, if you want to look at it that way—is just set up that way. But then you get into the tricky stuff. If God is jealous and goes around punishing people just because they actually enjoy being alive, then what does that even say about the whole concept of a higher power? Or the idea of freedom and goodness? I guess if we don't actually have the freedom to choose our own path, then nobody is truly "good." We're all just doing whatever we think is best in the moment to survive. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, really.

It feels like people just don't know much anymore, you know? Awareness is pretty low, and honestly, I feel like the ability for folks to actually step up and help one another isn't exactly where it needs to be. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like we're all kind of stuck in our own little bubbles lately. I mean, if you really think about it, that whole thread of just trying to be a decent human being... it kind of stretches back through all of history, doesn't it? It’s like this constant, ongoing effort that we've always been making. I guess you could say it's woven into everything we've ever done. Despite all the threats from religious fanatics and those endless cycles of violence between different groups... I don't know, it honestly impresses me how many quiet, unassuming people out there just try their best to live an honest life. At least, it does for me. But then again, most people just go through life without ever really knowing the truth. Personally, I don't see inherent evil in people. I think it’s more about that struggle—that inability to reconcile personal beliefs and conflicting views. It’s like they can't find a way to bridge the gap, and then things just spiral, and you end up with people losing their minds or getting caught up in chaos. Maybe that's just how it is.

Are you really feeling that strongly about it?

I can't help but wonder if our arrival here is actually the result of some deep soul-level free will, where we specifically chose this exact life before we even got here.
