Is there even anyone actually there? 😳

Every time I pass by around rush hour, the place is a ghost town. Just one random guy hanging around inside.

new guy, you from a place like Chicago too? 😳

I know one spot near the old cathedral, close to Retfala, but even they aren't doing great...

Find me one single person who actually does.

Total troll. It was the exact same lane!

Who even pours that kind of cash into arcade games nowadays when nobody actually shows up?
It’s not an APU we’re talking about, just the iGPU on an i5 processor, so that’s a total zero for me.

William Morris13 said:It’s not like they’re actually planning on rebuilding their browser from scratch. It’s much easier to just drop support for an OS that its own creator basically walked away from. At the end of the day, Microsoft is a business, and they care about the bottom line. They force people toward their newer systems and services... if you can't make the jump, you're stuck buying new hardware, which just feeds the profit margins of other big tech companies. It's a chain reaction. Nobody is going to fight the entire industry—or their own quarterly earnings—just to keep Windows XP alive.
It happened, it's over. Technology moves forward, and in a few years, you'll be looking for a way to run every system you ever worked on. Nothing new there. That's just how the gears turn...

+1🙂

yeah, good luck when it stops working 🕺

rowdybadger18 said:Honestly, it supports everything you actually need, especially if you aren't out there messing around with niche stuff.

There’s no official Microsoft support, which means the OS isn't secure anymore. To me, that makes it useless. Period.

As for why people are stubborn enough to keep running headfirst into a brick wall? That's a different story.🥱

rowdybadger18 said:The client is insisting on Chrome, and honestly, I can't argue with how good their sync feature is. Are you telling me there's absolutely no way for Chrome to swallow those certificates on Windows XP? Not even Internet Explorer or Chrome?

Fine, tell the client to switch to an OS that actually gets updates, instead of clinging to a 15-year-old system where nothing works anymore.🕺

rowdybadger18 said:It looks like Chrome is finally pulling the plug on Windows XP too. What a shame. I assume there’s no way to get anything else running besides Firefox now?

Check out the Maxthon browser. It's lightweight and snappy... just threw it on an old rig recently and it runs flawlessly.🙂

That issue popped up on an old PC because the BIOS date and time were totally off 😳

Your BIOS clock is totally out of sync 👍

Lawrence Ortiz2 said:That monitor caught my eye while I was scrolling through the threads—honestly a steal at that price. But I’m leaning away from it now. I think a 23 or 24-inch setup is plenty for me. Maybe the pixel density will actually be better on a smaller screen for the money. What do you think? 🙂

There isn't really a "better" or "worse" here. Just look for an IPS panel and check the ports you need. That's the whole game. 😁

Joshua Ramos14 said:If he was picking up a card like that, it makes sense why he wrote it. You don't drop that kind of cash on a GPU if you don't grasp the basics. 😁

Yeah, honestly, that card hits 1500mhz core easily. Even if it was running lower before, it's fine. 🕺

Lawrence Ortiz2 said:Got any smart ideas for $667? Maybe a 27-inch or something smaller? Ideally near Cleveland if I can't get it shipped from overseas.

Check my last post. You can grab a 27-inch right downtown for just under $600

EDIT: If I could check it out in person and if it still had 30 months of warranty left, I’d grab it—assuming it was overclocked the whole time.

+1 even if it dies, you just deal with Best Buy or the manufacturer's RMA service if you have the receipt.

Either way, you end up with a new card anyway. 🐔

Adam Moore3 said:Nah, this build is trash. An ASUS Z97 paired with an i3 in a $2667 setup? It's a bad deal—cheap SSD and a garbage power supply. Also, tell him it doesn't matter where he buys from regarding the warranty. He can order from ADM or Future, wherever, just stay away from Best Buy. It'll show up in a few days and the warranty works fine, though he probably won't even need to use it. Basically, what he's seeing for $8,000 at Best Buy, he could grab for $7,000 at ADM. 🙂

Maybe 1-2 days 😁 if you're using ADM... if you order by 3 PM today, the rig is usually at your door by 9 or 10 AM tomorrow.

It happened to me 3 times 😁 ( ordered a full PC 3 times 😬 )
What should I disable in startup? in IT Support ·
rowdybadger18 said:Look, people forget we aren't living in the Windows XP era anymore. Modern OSs, starting with Windows Vista, handle RAM pretty efficiently. There's no reason to strip anything out of startup apps, especially since this guy doesn't have anything running that actually slows down his boot time.

Wrong. Windows Vista is basically the biggest pile of junk OS since Windows 2000...
