Hans is dealing with a massive stomach ache today. I'm currently wrapped up in bed like a giant pancake, surviving on nothing but crackers and tea. It sucks being this pathetic... They say eating dates might help, maybe at least six a day... so that's what I'm doing today

I know, it’s always just a rough estimate anyway. But I can back up that statistic—first-time moms usually tend to have longer pregnancies than those who've done this before, though there are plenty of exceptions to the rule for everyone.

Most women I know end up delivering about a week ahead of their due date. There was just one outlier who went early by a whole month.

I know, I know. 😍 So, my kid just put on another 4 pounds, and now I’m sitting here wondering how much more they're actually going to grow. 😬

Maybe he's just waiting for Hans to pick up some American. 🤔

The sun is finally out again, so I'm tackling the windows

I've already tucked away everything I could... laundry's done, the house is spotless. I even bullied Hans into clearing all that junk out of the basement, cooked up a bunch of meals to freeze so we aren't stuck in the kitchen every single day, and kept the place cleaned daily. We definitely earned this rest after wandering around like lost tourists for the last few days 🤷

I'm on checkups every two days now. Had one yesterday, and my next one is tomorrow. The monitor shows contractions, but nothing is actually happening yet. No real labor just yet. 🤷 I’m feeling as stuck as if I were locked inside Rose Castle. If things don't start moving on their own within a week of my due date—by Saturday at the latest—they’re going to suggest induction. Honestly, I’m just trying to avoid the nightmare my friend went through. She made it a full week past her date before they induced her, and then she ended up in labor for twenty grueling hours. To make matters worse, the Baby was already huge and got stuck. It was a total disaster for both of them, and she ended up needing an emergency C-section anyway.

All we've seen so far are those occasional, mild contractions—you know, the "false alarms." But those aren't the real deal yet. 🤷 That's pretty much all the info I can give you guys for now. 🤷

We're out on a road trip today (don't worry, Grace Sanders24, we'll be back soon) because a buddy told Hans about this killer ice cream shop in a nearby town, and Hans has been obsessing over getting there for weeks. So here we are—turns out being a little late was worth it just so he could finally sit down and enjoy his cone.
