I’ve been seeing so many aggressive promos lately from the big providers, basically throwing cash or gift cards at anyone willing to jump ship. It feels like we've entered this weird cycle where the "deal" is the only reason people are even looking at their monthly bills anymore.

A few years ago, I stayed with my provider for nearly a decade just because I couldn't be bothered to deal with the headache of a technician coming to the house or the hassle of returning old hardware. Now, it feels like the loyalty tax is so high that you almost *have* to jump around every year just to avoid getting ripped off. It’s exhausting.

I can't help but wonder if these massive sign-up bonuses are actually sustainable, or if they just end up inflating the base prices for everyone else six months down the line. It feels like a shell game.

Do you guys actually bother switching when these offers pop up, or is the hassle of changing service usually more trouble than the extra cash is worth?
Potassium Chloride in Health ·
I’m not even feeling any symptoms or anything, so it wasn’t like some massive, scary spike. I actually just went in for my routine physical and they caught it during the bloodwork.
Regarding eating bananas or just snacking on raw fruit, the absorption rate is way lower than if you're drinking cold-pressed juices—we're talking about four times less effective, roughly speaking.
For the last four months, I’ve been sipping on pure carrot and orange juice every single day, so I think it’s time to dial back the orange juice and get some follow-up labs done to see where I stand.

So, my potassium levels just came back high—like 5.5—and my doctor is basically telling me I need to chill out on the fruit intake. Turns out, I’ve been crushing about 60 ounces of cold-pressed juice every single day, and since there's tons of orange in there, it's clearly catching up to me. Time to cut it out!

Hey everyone! Just checking in—I’ve been hanging out in San Diego lately, staying healthy, hitting the gym, and catching all sorts of cool cultural events. I still have my girl squad, but honestly, things have kind of drifted lately... life just happens, you know? Between dating and everyone grinding at different jobs, we haven't been as tight as we used to be.
My mom passed away last night 😢
She’s finally at peace now... The cancer had spread everywhere. And since she wasn't interested in pursuing treatment, there really wasn't any other way this could have gone.
Reddit here—my mom has been stuck in the hospital for eight days now. They haven’t even been able to get her colonoscopy done yet! First, she couldn't keep any liquids down, and then when she finally did manage to drink some, she didn't clear out properly.
Basically, things are looking pretty rough. She’s struggling to stay focused on what’s been happening over the last ten days, and she can't even get out of bed anymore. She's constantly hooked up to an IV because she just can't handle any food or fluids at the moment.
Yesterday, she had bloody urine all day long; she’s got a catheter and a bag, and honestly, it looks really red.😢

The only thing I have right now is her bloodwork. Can anyone with more experience take a look? I can see that several of these values are definitely off.

Hey there!

My mom has been struggling for about 40 years now with digestive issues, some bladder incontinence, trouble walking, and all that—basically everything that comes after surviving a malignant spinal tumor. She actually had to relearn how to walk from scratch.
About six months ago, she started dealing with stomach pains, and over the last few months, she’s dropped about 45 pounds. She ended up in the ER when she was feeling really bad, and they ran an abdominal ultrasound. Most of her organs looked fine, but there was this one thing:
Directly subhepatic, there is a large, inhomogeneous, mostly hypoechoic mass measuring 11 x 5.6 cm, which primarily corresponds to a tumor process in the ascending colon and hepatic flexure.

That was the finding from two months ago. Based on that, the doctor told her it looks like a malignant colon tumor, but said we still needed to get a colonoscopy to be sure. However, she flat-out refused any more testing, signed the refusal forms, and they sent her home.
She’s 76, and honestly, things are just getting worse every single day. Her mobility is declining, and for the last two days, the abdominal pain has been getting intense. We’ve actually called 911 twice already; they gave her an injection for the pain, but they wouldn't even transport her because they claimed it wasn't an "emergency."
The thing is, she refuses to go to the hospital. She doesn't want to deal with another surgery or go through that whole cycle again. She's even having suicidal thoughts—she just wants to pass away at home.
We feel so incredibly helpless. We keep trying to talk sense into her, but nothing works. 😢

Finally getting around to contributing something visual 🙂 to this awesome community where we all pour our sweat and tears together! Sadly, I don't have any before photos, but man, the progress has been insane. Back on February 10th, I started Insanity, but after that, I totally let myself go—just a soft gut and zero muscle definition. Once I crushed Insanity, I tightened up my core and dived straight into P90X3. I’m halfway through now, and honestly, I’m loving the program (I’ve actually rambled about how great P90X3 is in another thread).

Since I didn't snap any pics at the start, and since I'm keeping this momentum going full throttle, consider this my before shot! We'll see the real progression in a couple of months, right?
By the way, I've dropped about 4 or 5 pounds so far, currently sitting at 205 lbs and 6'3" tall. I've been active for years, though nothing has ever felt this organized or dialed in compared to these last two months. I've been riding bikes since I was 16, and now I'm 33 years old. I also did some kickboxing over the last couple of years (until October, when I hit a massive slump and basically became a couch potato from November through early February this year). But hey, that muscle memory definitely kicked in, and I started seeing results way faster than I expected!

I bet there are plenty of tall guys or even giants in here who know exactly how brutal it is to pack on quality mass that actually shows. From day one, I've been going all out—totally locked in, disciplined, and I really feel like that's the secret sauce.

Sorry for the massive wall of text! I just felt like it was important to share the context rather than just dumping photos. This is my first time taking progress shots like this, so I might have missed the best angle or my posture might be wonky, blah blah... if anyone has tips on anything, please throw them my way! If I can motivate even one person here, I'll be happy.

cosmiclynx57 said:I’ve been hearing nothing but glowing reviews about this trilogy, so I’m definitely planning to binge the whole thing sometime next month.

I first caught Mads Mikkelsen on screen in Casino Royale, and since then, I've been following his work in all sorts of movies—not that I can even list them all right now! But honestly, I’ve been rewatching him in the Hannibal series lately, and man, I am just so stoked to see him in this one too.

The trilogy is absolutely killer, but man, that third part is brutal! I've seen some intense stuff before, but this was so realistic that there were actually scenes I had to look away from... seriously...

Honestly, such an incredible movie! Dakota Fanning was absolutely phenomenal, and Elizabeth Shue always brings something so special to her roles. It felt totally effortless—just a smooth, seamless plot that hits you with a killer twist at the end. It’s easily sitting right at the top of my all-time favorites list!
The Unborn in Movies ·
Just checking in with another solid horror flick! Honestly, the lead actress absolutely killed it—she brought this totally unique vibe to the exorcism scenes, almost like something out of an old-school classic. There are definitely a few jump scares to keep you on your toes, but nothing that’s going to give you actual nightmares. Overall? It's definitely sitting a bit above your average horror movie.
Jaws in Movies ·
I just couldn't help myself—I had to go ahead and check out the sequel, and honestly? I wasn't disappointed at all! It’s a totally solid flick with a really gripping story. If you're into those intense survival movies, I'd definitely recommend grabbing both of them.

Man, it’s been a minute since a movie actually shook me like this. The sheer desperation of that young couple was just gut-wrenching, and honestly? It felt so incredibly real, even if it wasn't based on a true story. The way they handled the psychology of the relationship—the constant bickering, the finger-pointing, then those moments of making up, and that ending... man, what an ending! Huge thumbs up from me!
I’m actually kind of hesitant to watch the sequel now because I don't want to ruin the vibe I just got from this one. Apparently, they filmed the second part before the first one and just changed the title and slapped "Part 2" on it later.
Wolf Creek in Movies ·
I’m totally jumping on the bandwagon here—this movie was awesome! That villain's performance? Absolutely chilling. He had that creepy, twisted grin that reminded me so much of Wrong Turn 5. Honestly, that vibe gave the movie way more horror cred than all those over-the-top slaughter scenes and gallons of fake blood ever could. And can we talk about that fake teaser? They showed that guy in the pub, making you think he'd show up later as some kind of sidekick, but nope! Just a big "see ya later."
The film is packed with these killer shots of the USA wilderness—just total isolation with a serial killer hot on your heels. My only gripe is the ending; it felt a little silly to me. I've never been a fan when they keep a character completely sidelined just to have them pop up as a survivor at the very end. But hey, at least they finally gave us a normal, relatable girl instead of one of those stereotypical blondes you see in movies like Miami. I'm giving this a solid 9/10!

What a total piece of trash 😂 This David Hasselhoff is just some washed-up old guy, and his acting? Honestly, it’s painful to watch. The first movie was actually decent enough to sit through, but this one was just straight-up terrible and had zero comedic timing whatsoever.

Oh man, here we go again... just another one in a long line of disappointments. The first one was absolutely killer, but everything since then? Total garbage.

I find this movie super interesting—it's a total staple of that whole "New French Extremity" movement, and honestly, even darker than most of their other stuff (if you look at how it ends). There's this one weird element in the flick that I don't think they ever bother explaining, or maybe it doesn't even need to be explained (you know, that zombie part?), but hey, whatever... It was brutal, uncomfortable, and seriously caught me off guard 🙂

Are you talking about that prisoner who basically rose from the dead? I felt the same way—felt like it didn't serve much of a purpose.
For me, the absolute most shocking part was when the lead actress slashed her own throat after burning that woman's face... seeing all that blood everywhere was wild. Talk about pure desperation! But man, she realized what she'd done almost instantly and just started taping herself up with duct tape 😳 Usually, I'm pretty quiet when I'm watching movies, but this time I actually had to yell at the screen: "You idiot, what are you doing?! You're gonna die, why would you do that?!" Seriously, such a heavy psychological moment in the film.

Man, this one is brutal. It’s bloody, intense, and absolutely packed with violence—definitely not for anyone with a weak stomach! That said, I thought the movie was fantastic because it felt so incredibly raw and realistic. The French have really proven once again that they are absolute masters when it comes to crafting horror.

Total garbage. Seriously, what a snooze fest! It was just unoriginal, predictable, and the plot felt completely pointless. Honestly, the only thing that kept this from being an absolute train wreck was the lead actress—it’s such a shame she wasted her talent on a project this bad.
