Raymond Barrett12 said:Props to the Czech and Danish brews, but honestly, you guys can take your beer drinking straight to hell if you aren't looking at Belgian, German, English, Irish (and I mean actual good stuff, not those cheap gin-flavored disasters), Scottish, and all the other varieties out there...
I mean, look... 🙄
I haven't quite stumbled upon a truly terrible German beer yet (though Beck's is getting pretty close), but I haven't found anything that really blows my mind either—it just doesn't hit the spot for me. Belgians? No question, there are some incredible ones. Unfortunately, I'm pretty weak when it comes to trying British beers, even though a few have actually impressed me. What can I say, when our Beer Lovers Club focused entirely on "exotic" stuff, we ended up sipping on brews from Egypt, Tunisia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Tajikistan, and whatnot, instead of actually getting to know the small-batch English or Belgian microbreweries...
coastalpanther11, as far as I know, there’s nothing in Washington, D.C. that even comes close to Scout in terms of selection, but then again, there's the Beer shop, which delivers right to your doorstep if you hit a certain amount. Besides, most of what they have is already at Scout anyway. Check out
www.beershop.com (if you're reading this, puff, oh Great President of said club, I think I deserve at least one free Tranquiar for the free promo! Or better yet, that dark one from Slovakia—I forgot the name, maybe it was golden Ležant or something, if you still have any left!)
