Because of how dustyharbor18 acts, me and a few other folks don't even bother showing up to Alternative anymore. I used to drop by all the time hoping to pick up something new, but this isn't her first rodeo with these little power trips... she’s constantly acting out and picking fights with people, and honestly, she’s managed to drive away some really solid, high-quality members.
It was actually pretty awesome during those 6 months when she was gone.

Here’s the breakdown:

So, one of the female admins finally came through for me... but only after I slid into her DMs. Before that, it was just radio silence from everyone. My penalty points stayed on my record, but hey, at least they went on the record publicly that I was right all along. They admitted the mod was being biased and messed up, and they actually handed out the same penalty to the other person too. Fair enough, I guess!

And yeah, I think one moderator actually claimed that the mods on this PDF are untouchable. Personally? I'm all for implementing penalties for moderators. I honestly think things would be fair if I just lost my 45 points, or if Princess Lea got penalized too. Look, it's Les we're talking about—some stuff just flies under the radar with him. It is totally NOT true that I refused to answer his PM asking about a ban. It was just a matter of timing... don't you guys ever have like 5 or 6 tabs open with different threads, then a PM pops up, you open it in the 7th tab, and then you just want to finish the stuff you already have open before getting to the message?
That’s just how I browse—opening a bunch of threads at once and working through them one by one. I bet most of you do the exact same thing.
So, that was the situation... I was just working my way through my tabs... to him, it probably looked like I was intentionally posting everywhere while ignoring his DM on purpose. Like, seriously? Give me a break.
And yeah, I did tell him that You're stupid. and Idiot. aren't insults.

Now, let me explain.
Let’s look at the big picture. Alex is over here loudly asking, Does Reddit allow someone to say "you're stupid" or "idiot"?? Does Reddit allow someone to call someone an idiot??? Should I just go ahead and grab a gun right now if I can...?? 🥳
Hold on a second.
Reddit is made up of several different subreddits, each with its own set of rules, not to mention we have tons of mods, and every single one of them moderates based on their own personal threshold for what they'll tolerate.
It's the same deal with the chat rooms and stuff... we definitely allow way more leeway in General Chat than the mods over in the Food & Cooking sub, for example. Bad comparison, but you get it.
I come from the General Chat crowd. 👋
Over there, it's totally fine (maybe even encouraged) to drop an F-bomb or some other profanity, and nobody bats an eye. I'm pretty sure those kinds of words wouldn't fly in the Cooking sub, or Parenting, or Life Advice...

To me, You're stupid and Idiot aren't insults. Honestly, they aren't. Especially not on a forum like this. Or in General Chat. Plus, this was just in a chat thread where I wasn't even bothering to fix multi-quotes or handing out bans for "smilies only" posts like I usually do.

If a specific moderator is super strict about a rule, the only way to really know is to just ask them directly.
