Generally me, I find this dismissal of someone's success just because they're driving a superior car to be completely nonsensical. If we follow that logic, we might as well erase all of Vettel's titles at Red Bull Racing, wipe away Alonso's wins in that dominant R25, or just pretend Michael didn't win anything at Ferrari. If we're going to talk about pure dominance, let's look at the numbers: in their most dominant season, Mercedes pulled in 44% more points in the Constructors' Championship than the runner-up. In 2002, Ferrari outscored the next team by 59%.

Alonso's R25 was anything but dominant. Sure, they had an early advantage, but McLaren caught up to them throughout the season—in fact, McLaren was often faster in terms of raw pace, they were just plagued by unreliability. Unlike the Renault, which ran like a Swiss watch (at least the one Alonso was driving).

Lewis Hamilton’s second stint was way too short; that’s going to cost him some wins later on.

It honestly bothers me too, even as a dedicated Ferrari fan. It’s frustrating seeing people just step aside for Ferrari and Mercedes. The reality is that there's a massive gap of 1.5 to 2 seconds per lap; when those teams start from the back, they can basically count on being at least five positions up by the end.
