How can I get rid of this Wi-Fi issue without performing a full factory reset (would that wipe all my saved Wi-Fi networks ) ?
Peter Morgan3 said:Well, you could always just keep it turned off when you aren't using it... By the way, a reset wipes everything, including those settings.

Listen, man, maybe it’s time to brush up on your skills... try approaching things with a more modern mindset. Some things are better left where they belong... in the past. You know how it is, once a driver, always a driver. ☕
Are you certain everything is connected properly? 🤔 On the other hand, if you are—or if you think you are—try resetting the BIOS by removing the battery for a few minutes, then give it another shot...
To be honest, nothing clever comes to mind... 😕 I had a similar issue years ago with my Dell laptop, though I managed to fix it just by leaving it on the charger for a while until it behaved again. It still works fine today... Back then, there was clearly just a temporary glitch with the battery. As for the folks over at Best Buy, the most you can expect from them is a polite explanation of what’s wrong with your computer.
First, ensure your power supply is properly seated and check if any cables are making contact with the chassis or the PSU housing... Also, that buzzing could be an early sign of a failing hard drive; you might want to test it with a spare unit to see if the noise persists.
Does the entire computer shut down, or does the screen just go black? 😕 Check your settings under "Control Panel > Power Options" to see how your system is configured when it's plugged in.
Download the ISO file from the link provided by Drew Allen77 above. Grab the software called WinISO as well; use it to burn those Windows images you just downloaded—I'd suggest using 4X speed. Set your BIOS to boot from the CD drive first and that should be it... I assume you know the rest.
+$8.25 shipping to Washington, D.C./ $12 for the USA... It's a webshop, after all, so I assume they don't have a physical storefront. Regardless, the price seems fine.
I suspect you didn't install the printer using its specific driver, or perhaps you installed it so haphazardly that even the machine doesn't know what it's supposed to be doing...
That seems like the more logical explanation.
You should have received a CD with the printer containing the full installation suite; just run that and the matter is settled.
She already mentioned she doesn't have a CD...
I'm wondering if this is a common issue with all older printers when paired with Windows 7?
No, I've been using an SX125 with Windows 7 and third-party ink for years without any issues whatsoever.
