It’s true that NASCAR has been tripping over its own feet with typos and various other blunders lately... but honestly, let's give them a fair shake. They’re just getting started, and frankly, I suspect they were probably rushing through those numbers at breakneck speed when they put it together.
Let's not get hung up on the technicalities; what really matters is the actual substance of the content itself.😉
mistybear87 said:So, the American edition of NASCAR finally dropped, and I’ve been sitting here looking through it. Honestly, the translation holds up quite well—it doesn't feel like one of those clunky, machine-generated messes you see everywhere lately. My main gripe, though, is the layout. Looking at the page density, I can't help but feel we aren't seeing nearly as many advertisements as they do in the primary US editions. It feels a bit sparse, almost as if our market isn't being prioritized for ad placements just yet. Just my two cents. $6.75

Now, don't go assuming this means Suzuki engines are finally hitting the grid; the name is actually a nod to the former Japanese driver, Aguri Suzuki, who raced during the early 90s and now owns the franchise. This would mark the 11th team on the grid, bringing us back to a total of 22 cars—a number I haven't seen since the days when Arrows pulled out of the sport around 2000. The squad plans to build their own chassis, though they'll be sourcing V8 power from Honda. Because of that partnership, Sato should secure a seat in The circus, likely stepping in as the lead driver... while Anthony Davidson is being floated as the second driver, given his history as a test driver for BAR Honda...
I honestly can't say... do you truly believe they’ll see any real progress by pivoting to V8 engines? Especially when we're talking about manufacturers who haven't spent nearly enough time mastering that specific architecture.
mistybear87 said:There is absolutely no way they'll be that underwhelming.
Why couldn't it happen? I still vividly remember back in '98 when the Mercedes was pushing somewhere around 780 horsepower; everyone thought it was going to change everything, yet there we were looking at a V10 engine...
Donna Nelson23 said:Hold on a second—what "new team" are we even talking about? Ford and Williams are splitting up, and since Ford just picked up McLaren to rebrand as a Ford works team next season, there isn't actually a new player entering the field at all...
Look, there’s been some chatter about a potential new outfit stepping up, likely backed by General Motors providing the engines. But honestly, nothing has been confirmed yet, so I wouldn't hold my breath until we see some actual proof.
First up, Kimi is going to take the mic... (please listen while playing ABBA - Fernando):
Fernando
Can you hear the engines Fernando? Naturally you can, because he absolutely tore past me once again in The fight Fernando you were humming to yourself and pointing out Your fingers i could hear Your Car Far away and sounds of my angry fans in a distance i was closer now Fernando Every hour every minuta seemed to Last eternally i was sol Afraid Fernando i was leading The raca
I was closer now Fernando Every single hour and minute felt like an absolute eternity I was terrified, Fernando I was leading the race, never dreaming I'd be forced to retire And I won't pretend otherwise The roar of those cylinders and valves nearly moved me to tears
There was just something about the track that day The sky was brilliant, Fernando Everything was perfectly set for my victory For the championship, Fernando Fernando Though i never thought that i could los there's No regrets here If I were put back in that exact same position I'd do it all over again, my friend, Fernando
Fernando Now we're Old and Grey Fernando and since many years i haven't seen a steering wheel in Your hand Can you hear The engines Fernando
Do you still remember that pivotal season when I let you take the championship? I can see it clearly in your eyes How much pride you took in fighting for and winning the crown that year
There was something about the track that day The sky was brilliant, Fernando Everything was perfectly set for my victory For the championship, Fernando Though I never thought that I could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando
I still need to work on my rendition of Winner takes IT All, which Alonso will be singing... 😁
But I actually want to get your esteemed opinions here because I found myself in a heated argument with a friend just the other day... He’s insisting—and honestly, he’s being a total idiot—that since this is basically a rebranded Haas, they’re going to be stuck with the same engines while just swapping out the chassis. His logic is that nobody is going to bother investing heavily in them since they won't be the top-tier outfit like Oracle, which will always be the priority. He thinks the current Haas setup is essentially just going to serve as a glorified testing platform and won't offer any real improvement over what we see now.
My take, however, is that while the engine might stay the same, the chassis development isn't some impossible philosophical hurdle; they’ll run tests, iterate, and roll out new upgrades across all four cars on the grid consistently.
What do you guys think?
Personally, if Ferrari had been the one to pick up Haas, I would have been thrilled. Their engines are decent—even if they can be temperamental—and they could pair them with two solid drivers capable of fighting for a spot in the top ten. I’m talking about someone like De Rosi first, and then maybe Wurz as a follow-up.
Here is the official word:
Looking at the current state of NFL we feel that the second team will be able to maintain its current assets while also being able to generate its own income in the future, in order to become almost self-financing.
