We’re already stuck with total political amateurs running the show, and now you guys want to hand the keys over to someone like Martin Luther King Jr. or Donald Trump? It’s easy to sit around spinning these "what if" fairy tales about how things could be perfect, but let’s get real for a second. You actually have to ask: can these people even execute a plan? Do they have any actual expertise to drive real change?
Look, I totally get it. People are fed up and bitter with the big mainstream parties, but we shouldn't be so desperate that we just hand the entire country over to every random loudmouth off the street.
We’re in survival mode right now—this is not the time for wild experiments or playing games with our future.
And how exactly are those fringe groups any worse than the "total political amateurs" currently in charge? Are they somehow even less qualified?
but surely we aren't quite desperate enough to hand the keys to the country to every random person off the street
It's five minutes to midnight; this isn't the time for reckless experiments.
except we already tried that a few times. the results speak for themselves.
France, Spain, and Denmark all landed in the second half of the draw 😁. Our only real threats seem to be the Swedes and the Germans. Hopefully, we're strong enough to handle Brazil.
The pair facing off will likely be the losers from the France-Sweden match (C2) and the losers from the Denmark-Poland matchup (D3). If there's a draw in France-Sweden, Sweden takes first and France takes second (C2). If there's a draw in Denmark-Poland, Poland ends up third (D3).
I'm hoping for wins from France and Denmark tomorrow—or at least that neither of them loses—so we can set up a quarterfinals matchup between the winner of Sweden-Poland. (Fingers crossed we make it through, Brazil).
Great movies don't need a reboot... For truly great films, you should probably wait at least 15 or 20 years. For decent ones, maybe give it a decade. As for the absolute trash? Five years should be plenty, assuming they actually manage to do better next time.
I actually liked this one way more than the first, even if there was room for improvement. Hopefully, the third installment leans harder into the action.
Nathan Ramos said:I wouldn't say it's a certainty, though I suppose anything is possible if you look at it from a certain angle. I’ll probably just circle back to my previous suggestion about disabling the screensaver entirely—it’s like clearing a roadblock off a highway; once you do that, everything just flows smoothly again.
What makes you so set on using Windows XP?
My current rig is just too weak. It could barely handle Windows 7 back in the day. It’s doing alright for now, but once I upgrade to something modern, I might consider moving back to Windows 7.
If anyone else is dealing with similar hardware limitations (and has found a workaround), feel free to chime in.
I’m sticking with MediaMonkey. I used a few different players back when I was on Windows XP, and everything worked fine on Windows 7. 🤷 Unless it's just a driver issue.
Every time I play some music, my screen hits sleep mode after about ten minutes. When I try to wake it up by clicking the mouse or hitting a key, the playback just dies—it won't resume unless I restart the whole track from the beginning. I've tried searching for answers, but I can't seem to find the right keywords to get anything useful out of Google. I'm running Windows XP. I used Windows 7 recently and never ran into this issue.
It’s possible I’ve missed something subconsciously. I'm trying to wrap my head around how this happened, but I honestly have no clue. I’ve never once set things up to download to my C drive. But here’s what just went down. I was downloading a series, grabbing episodes one by one since nothing is in the bundle yet. I had the first five episodes going that day. Episodes 1, 2, 3, and 5 all went straight to my designated folder, but episode 4 decided to land in downloads instead. Everything was configured exactly like the others, and for every single one, I just hit ok. All the options under directories are unchecked. No boxes are ticked.
Sometimes uTorrent decides to ignore my instructions and saves files to a completely different location. For example, I’ll set it to download a movie to the D: drive in the Movies folder, but it bypasses that and dumps everything into the default path on my C: drive, specifically user ... Downloads. Even though I have the settings configured to prompt me for a save location every single time, it seems to override my choice anyway. I end up hunting through my D: drive for a file that isn't actually there. Does anyone know why this happens?
If it helps, I'm running Windows 7 with uTorrent 3.0. I haven't bothered updating because this version works fine, aside from this little glitch.
