Can you catch HIV this way? in Health ·
Henry Rodriguez39 said:To give you a better visual, I was using my middle finger, and the slit was right by my pinky. 😁 😁 I remember it vividly. 🙄

Are you sure your pinky didn't just slip into the wrong hole? Because if it did, you're toast. You've got hemorrhoids, the whole nine yards, and probably some brown gunk under your nail too.

Fear really plays tricks on your eyes. Try looking at these facts again and tell me how much you think HIV actually spreads.

Henry Rodriguez39 said:So, if there was blood and it actually got inside the cut, does that mean my chances of catching something are slim to none? (Again, I’m saying "IF" she has HIV, which she probably doesn't, but you can never be 100% sure 🙂). HIV is such a nightmare.

The odds of getting infected that way are incredibly low. Even with a needle stick from someone positive, the transmission rate for HIV is only about 0.2%.

Can anyone help me out? Does anyone have experience with Piercing Studio jewelry???
And how do I get this stupid ball off???

Is it possible it rusted over? If it's not stuck from rust, try grabbing it with some needle-nose pliers or maybe even some tweezers.

Wait, I just caught this signature. Honestly, I have no idea how the mods haven't flagged it yet. Maybe they’re just super slick and it's slipping right past them. It literally lays it out in all these lines:

"Signature Formatting Rules for our Community Members. How to set up your signature on the US Forum. 1. Maximum length allowed: - one line using a larger font (size=3) - two lines (including spacing) using standard font (size=2) or

MANGAN?! in Health ·
ironhawk14 said:Does anyone know where I can pick up some manganese here in the States? I need it pure—no weird vitamin blends or extra junk mixed in. Just straight-up manganese, whether it's tablets or something else.
Thanks in advance for the help.

You should be able to find it at a CVS or even a local Walgreens.

Honestly, my favorite forum signature belongs to person. They probably just threw it together because of some random thing they posted a while back. It goes like this:

Check out the rules on how to set up your signature here 😉. I’m done using them altogether.
Memory issues? in Health ·
vividstag15 said:It might actually be depression. I've been going through some seriously rough stuff over this past year... I'm definitely feeling those symptoms you mentioned, too. Like, constant exhaustion, my focus and memory are totally shot, and I just have zero motivation for basically anything.

Honestly, you should probably go talk to a therapist or a psychiatrist. Depression is brutal and it messes with your entire life. You might not see physical health issues right away, but look at where you're at—you'll be heading off to college in a year or two. If you can't study now, your grades are going to tank when you try to apply, and you still have to prep for entrance exams. It really matters whether you actually get into the program you want or not.

Depression isn't a life sentence, but you really need to find a pro to help you out. The fallout can be pretty nasty. In my own career, I had big ambitions, but because I couldn't find the drive to study or stay focused, I missed my shot. It took me forever to make peace with that. By the time I finally felt like myself again, the window had closed. Sure, I can still kill it in my field now, but for the specific path I originally wanted? That ship has sailed.
Video Poker Machines in Miscellaneous ·

Please help...

Look, you really think casino owners are that clueless? You think they’d just let some random person walk up and use "tricks" to clean them out? No way. These machines are rigged from the ground up specifically to make sure players don't walk away with anything substantial.

Word on the street is players only see about 30% back—I've heard even less—so I seriously doubt there’s any secret hack to fool the machine. These machines have been around for decades. Manufacturers and owners aren't going to let their hardware be vulnerable to some amateur's little scheme after all this time.

The house makes its bank off the suckers who actually believe there's a shortcut or some magic trick to beat the system.

vividstag15 said:Man,

I feel like this is the right spot to vent about what’s going on with me.
So, for the last year or two, I’ve been dealing with some seriously heavy issues with memory and retaining info. It’s like I’m senile or something, even though I’m only 17 :S 😕
It hits everything from schoolwork—where I just can't make anything stick while studying (it's not how I'm studying, that part is fine)—to just basic everyday stuff. Honestly, I have no clue what's causing this, but it's making life incredibly difficult. Does anyone have an idea of what might be happening, or which kind of specialist I should go see to get this sorted out?
One thing I suspect is my focus, but even when I'm locked in, I struggle to memorize a single simple definition, let alone actual school subjects or any large chunks of data. :S :/

I went through a phase exactly like this once, and it turned out to be undiagnosed depression.

Check out this LINK and see if any of it sounds familiar. I didn't necessarily feel "depressed" in the classic sense, but I wasn't feeling great either, which really threw me off. I had pretty much all the other symptoms, though—insomnia, gaining weight easily, constant fatigue, a massive drop in concentration and memory, and especially struggling with school material that used to be easy for me. Even things I used to love felt like such a chore... Everything just felt off. Luckily, I'm past it now, but man, it was rough.

That said, maybe it isn't depression for you. You definitely need to talk to a pro—like a psychologist or a psychiatrist—to find out for sure. I'm just mentioning it because depression can be super sneaky and hard to recognize.

I really want to touch on these noble calls for help for people in need. Honestly, I think everyone needs to learn how to tell the difference between a genuine plea for assistance and those fake ones. Amidst all the heartfelt appeals out there, you’ve got those scammers running around spreading spam, and you really have to know how to spot them.

Just a few days ago, I caught an article in the New York Times covering this exact issue. It’s definitely worth a read so you can distinguish the fakes from the real deal. We don't want money going to random profiteers and spammers; we want it going to the people who actually need it.LINK
Microwave ovens in Health ·
So, I was chatting with my doctor the other day, and she dropped this bombshell about how some recent studies suggest that microwaving your food might actually trigger inflammation in your body.
Amanda Reed10 said:Look, why are you guys obsessing over his testicles? 😁 He’s claiming he feels it throughout his entire body, and there are plenty of other examples if you check that other link.

I just don't get how someone could be this delusional if it isn't true. I mean, surely you know if you're actually feeling something or not, right? 😕 🤷

It all started with his balls—now everyone thinks they have worms.😂

You want to know how people can be this crazy? I just read about how bananas are disappearing in Japan because some lady lost weight eating them, and now the whole country is panic-buying bananas hoping for the same result.

All it takes is one person tapping into the phobias of a few paranoid folks to end up with 300 pages of nonsense. We all have our quirks and fears, but you've gotta stay grounded and use some common sense so you don't spiral out like this guy with the worms. Just look at what unnamed wrote; that's basically a modern epidemic.
placidjackal36 said:Look, having parasites happens. It’s nothing special and definitely nothing to freak out about. But lately, there's this whole trend popping up—mostly tied to that unnamed movement and all the pseudoscience stuff—where people decide they’re suddenly crawling with parasites and "mucoid plaque." So then they go overboard with deep enemas, choking down endless anti-parasitic pills, and all that nonsense. Honestly, those cases belong in a psych ward.
Then you have that fake "Morgellons" disease, which is basically just psychological. You get a bunch of people who have lost their grip gathering on forums or Usenet groups, swapping "stories," and feeding into each other's paranoia.
To scammers, these folks are basically nothing more than easy prey.

This guy was just messing around with his scrotum... and thought he saw something moving. 😬
Sounds like he was checking himself out for the very first time. That's just basic muscle contraction. The testicles need to stay at a steady temperature, so the autonomic nervous system constantly moves them up and down. It looks like a little twitch. This idiot thought he had worms. Man, what a joke. 😂

I'm with you on this.

As for the guy poking at his balls, he sounds young. He clearly didn't realize how normal that movement is, so it's no wonder he's posting crazy stuff about worms in his scrotum. He probably felt his vas deferens and convinced himself a pinworm had crawled into his junk. 😂
Angela Wright said:Honestly, they aren't even parasites. We basically live in symbiosis with those little guys.
There was actually an awesome documentary about this on Discovery Channel a while back.👍

So, which specific "little guys" are you talking about here? This guy is out here claiming he's got some kind of worm living in his scrotum that wiggles whenever he pinches it. He clearly has no clue that what he's feeling is totally normal.

He keeps insisting there are things crawling under his skin from head to toe, and that they bite him when he messes with them. Based on what he wrote, it sounds like he’s just poking at the veins under his skin and convinced himself they're tiny worms biting back.
We're talking psychiatry here, not parasites.

I'm freaking out a bit...
So, about a year ago, I hooked up with this girl who was a guide on one of our group trips. She was visiting from out of town...
We spent one night together, and now I'm spiraling because she asked if she could take the condom off. She claimed it was chafing her or something??????
Is it actually possible for a condom to be uncomfortable like that? I don't have much experience with this stuff, so please let me know???
Part of me is worried she was trying to expose me to HIV...
The thing is, she ended up getting pregnant by her boyfriend later and had a perfectly healthy baby!
I actually called her later and she told me straight up that she doesn't have HIV...
She basically asked if I was crazy for even bringing it up. She said since she's pregnant, she's already passed all the tests twice and is totally clean!
She told me there's zero reason to worry about me because she's completely fine and clear!
So, what's the verdict? Is there any actual reason for me to be stressed???
Please get back to me ASAP!

You definitely need to go get tested. Period.

Maybe she just wanted a baby from you? Do the math on how much time passed between your hookup and when that kid was born. Also, the whole "condom is chafing" excuse sounds pretty sketchy to me. I've never heard that used as an excuse to ditch protection before.

Gerald Smith76 said:True, but let me throw something else out there—there's a trick to it. When you look at patient profiles in rural areas, say at some local community health clinics outside the city, it’s obvious why most dentists there can't even charge for a full filling $33. Sometimes they can't even hit $50. And don't even get me started on basic stuff like scaling or remineralization, which in the city goes for at least $67.
Then there's the genius Medicare system where the more work you actually do, the less money you end up with 🙄. So, you basically survive by catering to a handful of "wealthier" patients who actually have cash for high-end prosthetics... And obviously, you aren't going to use Gradia with G-bond on everyone. Depending on the patient, you'll pick something cheaper—like an older generation adhesive and composite where the kit costs maybe $333 instead of 400. Yeah, the cheaper stuff isn't as strong, but hey... you get what you pay for. If you follow proper protocol, it'll turn out just fine.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. 🙂

I worked out in the sticks, so I totally get what you're saying. People out there are used to free dental care. Especially in those small towns around Miami, most folks are small-time farmers barely scraping by for basic necessities, let alone expensive fillings. What you wrote makes total sense. But honestly, for those people, it doesn't really matter if the filling is Gradia and G-bond or Te-econom. For the ones who want the premium stuff, you just offer them a higher-end composite for an extra fee. After all, every dentist under contract today has the option to take private patients at standard private practice rates

Edward Sanchez72 said:sure...but does it even make sense to talk about material quality...from the adhesive all the way up to the composites?
even with the flaws found in even the most modern adhesives—which are way more expensive by the way—how can these things actually be high quality???

The expensive stuff is definitely higher quality than the cheap junk. Period. The point is that those budget options are outdated, which means they come with way more flaws compared to the newer tech. I highly doubt you could find composites at the same price point if one has 5% polymerization shrinkage and the other only has 2%. Obviously, the 2% version is gonna cost more because it's better. And don't even get me started on color stability, volume retention, or strength... all that drives the price up, but it also jacks up the quality, which ultimately dictates the final cost of the filling.

Don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to show that a higher price tag actually reflects better quality. Sure, those cheaper materials might hold up for years in less critical areas, but when you're dealing with something more demanding, the old-school stuff just can't compete with modern standards.
