Herbalife thoughts? in Health ·

Thank god it got locked pretty quickly, too. 👍

It's the exact same topic started by the exact same user.

Herbalife thoughts? in Health ·

From everything I've heard and read—long story short👎👎👎

They hype up these supposed "healthy plant-based" ingredients that honestly don't do squat in real life.

Look, since we're talking about something this serious, maybe you should just run it by your OB-GYN first.

Justin Gray said:So, if you go numb, does that mean you're hypersensitive or just that you went through some painful trauma? Honestly, anyone would go numb from a grip like that. We’re all built pretty much the same way, so it's not like I'm just being oversensitive.
Just picture how intense it has to be when someone suddenly grabs your face with two fingers and yanks you toward them with everything they've got, refusing to let go!? Trust me, it hurts like hell. In that exact moment, you get this primal urge to knock every single one of their teeth out because of the pain. And afterward? It hurts even more, plus you're left with that numbness where you can't feel your own face for a while. I'm telling you... some people clearly don't know where the line is. They don't get the difference between a little "pinch" and actual physical injury—or better yet, straight-up assault. And again, about that person—what an absolute idiot. I doubt I'll ever see them again if ☕

Then she definitely gave you a hell of a pinch. If there wasn't any bad intent behind it, it's easy to forgive.

Anyway, I don't think you'll have any lasting issues from it.

Justin Gray said:I’m starting this thread because of some crazy crap that went down yesterday. Some idiot girl pinched my cheek so hard she wouldn't let go, and I almost clocked her right in the face just to get free. Once I finally broke away, my face was throbbing, and then everything just went numb for a bit. It still hurts today, though it's mostly back to "normal." Look, we can joke around and play-pinch, but this was straight-up assault. Honestly, thinking about it now, I'd love to rip those fingers off some mindless, clueless person. I am absolutely livid.
Anyway, I want to know how bad a pinch like that actually is. Is there a risk of damaging the facial nerve?
And what about pinching other parts of the body where you end up covered in bruises? Can that lead to dangerous blood clots?

P.S.
What is wrong with some women? Do they think male skin is made of rubber or a heavy bag at a boxing gym??? You guys need to show some damn restraint because with those thin, clumsy, moronic little fingers, you can seriously maim someone too.... for real.😠

Was she really that strong, or are you just sensitive? I’ve never heard of a woman pinching someone's cheek so hard that their whole face goes numb.

Definitely hit up your primary care doctor first. Let them handle the referral. At the end of the day, they're the pros who know your history best.

brightowl23 said:Is it actually possible to catch HIV, Hep B, or Hep C at the dentist? Has anyone here dealt with this personally, heard any stories, or maybe know someone who did?
thanks

Theoretically, sure, it could happen. But honestly, I’ve never heard of a confirmed case of that happening. Not since we moved into the era of modern dentistry with all the strict sterilization and disinfection protocols in place. Unless you're dealing with some shady dentist who completely ignores basic hygiene and sanitization rules, you should be fine.

What kind of priorities are we talking about here? As for skill level, I think both Anić and Šlaj are top-tier pros, provided you actually ended up seeing one of them.

stormyheron4 said:No offense, but the mod really should kick you off this board officially. It looks like you’re missing a few screws. This forum is for sharing experiences. Medical treatment is what doctors and actual institutions handle. The whole world knows HIV isn't just some little seasonal cold like you're making it out to be, so regardless of how ridiculous the question was that 54321 asked, you don't get a pass to post something even stupider.

Unfortunately, anyone can post whatever nonsense they want since this is an open forum for opinions. But I think any sane person can tell the difference between actual info and total garbage.

I was reading about that supposed "cure" for HIV. This doctor claims he saved almost everyone except those who were too far gone to be helped even after the HIV virus was cleared. Honestly, I don't know what else to say. Maybe those gullible people who believe this stuff just end up getting what's coming to them.

I knew a guy once who actually drank crude oil and god knows what else because some "healer" told him it would cure his cancer. Well, now he's resting at Arlington National Cemetery. Hope he's at peace.
Pfizer medications have become unbearable in Health ·
Zachary Kern6 said:Honestly, it's wild seeing the nonsense people post when they clearly don't understand how medication actually works... look, the active ingredient in Voltaren is diclofenac, which falls under the category of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs... just like ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or aspirin...). The whole mechanism behind the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect relies entirely on blocking prostaglandin synthesis. Now, here's the catch: those prostaglandins are absolutely vital for building up the protective layer of the stomach lining. If you block them, that lining becomes much more sensitive and vulnerable to gastritis, ulcers, and bleeding—so there, I've explained why the side effects happen. Some people—and unfortunately, even some doctors—think these side effects don't exist if you're getting a Voltaren injection, a suppository, or whatever version of Diclofenac you're using that dissolves deeper in the GI tract... WRONG. The effect is systemic. They block prostaglandin synthesis in the brain, and regardless of how you get the diclofenac into your system, the risk of stomach damage remains exactly the same. As for Voltaren rapid, it simply doesn't exist; people have just become conditioned to it, and there's a huge psychogenic component to why they feel like Voltaren forte or Voltaren retard (which is the only one with slow release and should only be taken once a day) isn't working. If Voltaren isn't doing the trick for you, try Diclofenac (trust me, it is identical), or alternatives like ibuprofen, Excedrin, or even Tramadol and Zaldiar (though those are a bit tricky because they make quite a few people drowsy... personally, I recommend taking those at night before bed... some folks find it hard to handle them during the day)... and finally, I agree with the sentiment: bring back Voltaren rapid.

Is there really any difference for the stomach between Diclofenac and Voltaren? Sounds to me like it's the same deal regardless of which one you grab.

So that would mean the people advertising Diclofenac are lying, because they market it specifically as a painkiller that's easier on the stomach than Voltaren. To be honest, I haven't heard anything from my own patients about stomach issues from Diclofenac, and I haven't seen any reports on it either, so for now, I'm taking the manufacturer's word for it.

So you're saying there's absolutely zero difference in terms of stomach irritation between Voltaren and Diclofenac. Where are you getting your info?

When it comes to Advil or Excedrin, they've been useless for toothaches in my experience—especially Excedrin. Advil works okay for some people. At least, that's the feedback I get from my patients.

It’s an indescribable pain right in the back of my head, and I can feel my pulse throbbing there. It feels like something is squeezing the back of my skull really hard—it's unbearable. It lasts for at least a minute, and then the pressure slowly starts to ease up and fade away... but after that, I have a dull headache for the rest of the day.
I have no idea what's going on with me... CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT???

Is it worth going to a private practice instead? How big is the price gap between using my insurance through Blue Cross and just paying out of pocket?
I really want my teeth fixed right, so I don't care about the cost, I just need to know how much cash to bring so I know what to expect...

Believe it or not, Neutrogena—that big-name product from the massive pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson based out of San Francisco—is sourcing its ingredients from a tiny little cove in Cherry Hill, just a stone's throw from the mainland side of the Golden Gate Bridge, barely half a meter deep! Right where they're pulling this seawater into barrels, you’ve got wastewater from two local diners, runoff from public restroom sewers, storm drainage from the nearby parking lots, and waste from about twenty weekend cottages. And—get this—there’s constant boat maintenance happening right in that same cove. We're talking grinding, coating, painting... all those toxic antifouling particles, fiberglass bits, metal shavings, and rust just drifting straight into the water. To make matters worse, there are freshwater springs (upwellings) right in the immediate area, which makes the actual quality of that seawater highly questionable at best. They’re even extracting it using the most primitive methods imaginable—just pumping it into a van using a manual pump hooked up to the vehicle's battery. As for whether Johnson & Johnson actually holds a commercial permit to exploit these marine resources? Well, that goes without saying. It's classic shady business. So go ahead—keep snorting Neutrogena up your noses and your kids' noses too! If you haven't lost your minds already.

Honestly, I don't buy it. Who knows why they were pumping water there. There's no way that specific spot is what they use for Neutrogena production.

Think about it logically. Why would a major pharmaceutical company make their life harder and take such a huge risk by pulling dirty water when they could just drive a van ten minutes down the road and grab crystal clear water for their product? I really don't believe that water from that little cove was used for Neutrogena. It's just too much risk and it makes production way too difficult.

The product has to be pure. If they pump dirty water, they're just making things harder because they'd have to spend extra money filtering it, which complicates and hikes up the whole manufacturing cost. Plus, they'd be risking someone leaking the info. If that happened, sales would tank.

Why deal with all that hassle and risk when the easiest thing is to just head out a bit further, grab a boat, and pull clean water from the open ocean?
neonridge8 said:So, I’m trying to figure out where this is located and how I can actually pull this off? I’ve got these medical test results and X-rays that I need to email over, so I'm wondering about the best way to do that. If anyone knows the drill, please help a girl out.
Thanks

If you have a scanner at home, you can just scan them yourself. Just a heads-up though—your scanner software needs to support high-res X-ray imaging. I mention this because a lot of basic scanners don't come with that feature built-in, so you might have to hunt down specific driver software from the manufacturer's website to get it working right.

Your other move is to just swing by a local FedEx Office or a photo lab. They usually have pro-grade scanners on hand and can easily burn everything onto a CD for you.

I remember reading this one healer's take once. Basically, they were claiming that everything modern medicine says is just total nonsense because, according to them, AIDS is actually just a state of consciousness.

Henry Rodriguez39 said:So you're saying there's a risk, but it's basically zero? 😕 Look, listen. That cut was practically surface-level. It wasn't deep at all. We're talking needle-thin and maybe a centimeter long. It didn't even bleed. It was just, how do I put this? If you pressed a paper towel against it, you might see a tiny damp spot, or maybe nothing at all. Definitely no blood. And I wasn't rubbing my finger against her vagina. Honestly, I could swear there was absolutely no contact between any vaginal fluids and that little nick (and certainly not a lot of fluid). Maybe—and that's a big maybe—I accidentally touched the wound later with a finger that was a bit damp after washing my hands 🙄... Now, I know this sounds ridiculous to anyone who actually knows anything about medicine, but I am freaking out here. (The previous comments were meant to reassure me, but now I'm back to being "worried" again)

We haven't even talked about the most important part yet: her status. How certain are you that she could be infected? Are we talking a 1% chance of transmission, or are you 100% sure she's positive?

If she isn't infected, there is no way you can catch anything.
Can you catch HIV this way? in Health ·
placidjackal36 said:That just means out of all those cases, only about 0.2% involve transmission from a needle stick with HIV on it.
Don't confuse that with the actual probability of catching HIV if you get stuck by an infected needle. There is a massive difference between those two things.

Out of 1,000 needle sticks from an infected source, you're looking at maybe 2 actual infections.
