Checking my vitamin and mineral levels in Health ·
Thomas White15 said:Your doctor can certainly provide a prescription if they determine there is a medical necessity.

What specific deficiencies are you concerned about, and what led you to that conclusion?

Just feeling low on energy every now and then.
Kind of depressed, too.
Sometimes I just can't get myself moving.
I guess it probably has something to do with vitamins or minerals...

If you want to see what a CBC actually looks like, check this out: https://www.labcorp.com/tests

When it comes to things like vitamins, minerals, or hormones, doctors don't just bundle them into one big test—you have to get checked for each specific parameter individually. So, you’d order a test for Vitamin D, a separate one for B12, and then another specifically for thyroid hormones, and so on. It’s all handled on a case-by-case basis.

I’ve had a CBC done before and everything was fine.

But regarding those vitamins... can my primary care doctor actually order those tests, or do I have to go through a private clinic?

Like, a full CBC?

Is there a specific way I can check if I'm running low on certain vitamins, minerals, hormones, or whatever else might be missing from my system? 🍿

There are some pretty interesting matchups on the board today. 🍿
Maybe we can put something together.

I guess... anyone got anything worth playing today? 🍿
I wouldn't cheat, I'm just not that kind of person.
Though, honestly, maybe some real jerks are still better than people like that. 🙂
I've been there already, so I wouldn't want to go through that again.
And honestly, I wouldn't dream of cheating either, so...

Or maybe it's a combination of things...

That's a heavy one. A tough question. I guess you really have to sit there and think about it to give a decent answer.

Parents are clueless and they’re turning their kids into emotional wrecks.

They should just play with a damn Tamagotchi instead of having kids. 🙂

But I don't know, not everyone is like that.
Most of the time, it's school and the environment that messes kids up; parents just set the foundation, I guess.

Thomas Hernandez4 said:Nov 3. Topic of the day: How often do you actually hang out?

Do you get out much? Are you someone who hits up big groups, or do you prefer keeping things low-key with just a few people?
Try to put some actual numbers to it—how many people are you realistically seeing on a monthly basis?

I don't really do the whole nightclub thing anymore.
I used to go, but I got bored of it, and honestly, once I stopped going regularly, I realized it’s just way too expensive.

I see people pretty often, though.
Just grabbing coffee during the day, going for a walk, or something like that—that's my usual routine.

Maybe like 10 people, if I'm being honest and trying to remember right now.

I mean, you can tell he's totally out of his depth when things are actually going well...
Dennis Barnes77 said:It doesn't have to be right now,
but in a few years, it’s looking pretty inevitable.
I need to find a community that isn't some kind of concentration camp.
Because apparently, according to everyone else, there's nowhere else in this world for someone like me to fit in.
Some guy with a shotgun who lost his mind was in a similar spot once.
So, what's the alternative? Retreat back into video games and let what little personality I have left just wither away until I'm bouncing between psychiatric wards?
As if I'm guilty of anything, I've just been screwed over by life.
I could accept it if I had spent my whole life being a total piece of trash and treating people like garbage, but I haven't.

But that last part... that's where the issue lies.
That's just it.
Just because you haven't been a total scumbag doesn't mean other people don't get to be one to you.
Screw all those rules, the morality, and whatever other nonsense they preach at church.
Just live your life however you want, and hey, if that means stepping over people just to find some actual satisfaction or happiness, then so be it.
Goodness doesn't really pay you back—not in any way that actually matters, anyway.
Just be yourself and stop giving a damn about everything else. Be a jerk, I guess, but at least be a happy jerk instead of some miserable saint.
Dennis Barnes77 said:Sure, they exist here too, but I’ve mapped out a different path for myself if things don't change regarding certain issues.
I was simply asking about people's experiences; I want to get a feel for what those communes are actually like beforehand.
The best way is to hear it from someone who has actually been there.
As for group therapy, I already have a pretty good idea of how that works.

Why are you jumping straight to joining a commune?
That should really be your absolute last resort, maybe even the very bottom of your list of options.
Go ahead and ask your local doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist in your area, and maybe check if they run any group therapy sessions there too.
We have some options over here, and since we aren't that far apart, I guess you could always drive over to my neck of the woods if things are looking thin where you are.
It really helps, trust me.

Age or gender doesn't really matter to me, I guess.

I'm into all sorts of stuff—gaming, music, hitting the gym, astrology... pretty much everything.

- what kind of topics are actually being hashed out among those six people?

- if you had to give a self-assessment—and I mean a real, honest one—how would you rate the value of your own input in these discussions?

- is this kind of setup just business as usual for you, or is this some sort of freak occurrence?

Regardless, look, assertiveness isn't some magic gift you're born with; it's a muscle. It's a skill. You have to drill it, practice it, and hammer it home until it sticks. 🎉

Exactly.
Look, man, you really need to learn how to be more assertive and just... stop letting other people's words get under your skin. I mean, you're definitely going to run into people like that—it's impossible not to—but when you hit a wall with someone where communication just isn't happening, don't let it ruin your day. Just don't sweat it.
Maybe do a little digging online about it. 😉

Well, you definitely didn't fit in there.
But honestly, it’s probably not even worth stressing over or losing sleep about.
You'll figure it out eventually. 😉
