Monitor buying guide (mega-thread) in Computer Peripherals ·
Timothy Kim60 said:For that price? It's a steal. Just grab a 27" if you're planning on using it like a TV from your couch. Throw some speakers on it, and honestly, just make sure the tuner supports digital broadcasting—every model has an HDMI port anyway, right?

Thanks. Already ordered the digital tuner, and I’ve already got some killer speakers lying around.

It all comes down to your budget and what kind of setup you end up with. Honestly? I'd rather grab some actual PC speakers for $33 instead of overpaying for a monitor with crappy built-in audio.

You can just plug speakers into the headphone jack on the back (standard 3.5mm) or hook them straight into your PC.

Thanks for the tip!
Ended up going with the same brand, just a smaller, way cheaper version. It's mostly for working from home anyway, maybe watching some TV once in a while.
Just ordered the
Dell UltraSharp 27" 27B2H, VGA, HDMI, 75Hz for $352 including shipping.

So, if I grab this monitor, does it actually have built-in speakers? Or am I stuck without audio unless I plug in headphones?
Do I need to hook up external speakers to it?
I’m clueless when it comes to monitors and external tuners. My old setup was just an LG 24 combo with built-in speakers and a remote.

So what, I just grab a Dell UltraSharp U2723QE for $467 (or is there something better?) plus some digital tuner? Honestly, I'm clueless about those tuners—how much do they even cost?

Why not just grab a smaller TV and call it a day?

It's for work; I wouldn't touch a TV with a ten-foot pole. Everything I watch is from about 2m away, sitting at maybe 70-80 cm.
I was thinking of dropping up to $667.

My old monitor finally kicked the bucket, so now I'm on the hunt for a new one with a built-in TV tuner. Not looking for anything for gaming; just something in the 24-27" range. I was thinking about an Apple, but I'm open to other brands. I had a Sony monitor TV once and it barely survived its own warranty period—constant glitches the whole time—so I'm honestly terrified of getting stuck with the same brand again.

Thought it was just a lump, but it shouldn't be hurting like this. Same spot (just subcutaneous fat), right?

Thanks!
Set the HDMI scaling to 4% in my graphics card settings and boom—fixed.

fsoul, this is my only screen, but it’s basically acting as both my PC monitor and my TV.
Can't get my image to fit the screen resolution. in IT Support ·
Monitor: Dell UltraSharp Monitor, GPU: Intel Core i-series, latest drivers installed. 1080p resolution.
Running Windows 10, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB DDR2 RAM.
The issue? The image is freaking huge—it’s bleeding way past the edges of my screen. I tried adjusting things, set the aspect ratio to 16:9, and even used the "auto-adjust" scan option to get it to fit my 22" display (even though the panel is actually 23"). That works for a second, but as soon as I reboot, go to sleep, or the screensaver kicks in, the image stretches out again. I've been scouring the forums for a fix, but is it just me? Am I the only one dealing with this mess?
Dell UltraSharp 23 screen is white (V3.08.0) in Computer Peripherals ·
Anyone actually know how to do a factory reset on a monitor? Like, how do I get back to default settings...
Dell UltraSharp 23 screen is white (V3.08.0) in Computer Peripherals ·
Monitor’s totally bricked. Won't take any commands, direct or via remote. Everything's locked up... can't even switch to the TV input. As soon as I plug it in, it boots up, and the only way to kill it is to yank the cord out of the wall. Nothing works...
I'm telling you, I haven't touched a single setting... and honestly, pretty sure nobody else has either...

Just to clear things up
I'm talking about a Dell UltraSharp 23 monitor-TV combo
Old thing, maybe two years in
Never given me any grief until now

Anyone seen this before?
Got an LG 23" monitor-TV combo. Everything was fine until yesterday. Now the remote’s acting up—thought it was just dead batteries, swapped them out, still nothing. The screen works, but I can't switch over to TV mode. To make things worse, now I'm staring at a white screen with this little "V3.08.0" password prompt pop-up.
What's the deal? Can I actually fix this myself? 😢
Thanks in advance

Don't even bother... seriously. With 512 RAM, you'll barely scrape by on Windows XP, let alone Windows 7.
Honestly? Don't even attempt the install. It’s gonna be a total disaster.
Severe chest pain—what should I do? in Health ·
It’s really not a big deal.
Nothing actually broke—I mean, if a rib was busted, you wouldn't be able to take a deep breath without agony—it's just some bruising. Honestly? Don't even sweat it, it'll clear up on its own.
Keep pushing through!

Seems fine to me. It's paid software, but there's a 30-day trial, so why not? I'll give it a shot.

But those tiny joints in my hands and feet? They really take the brunt of it. I've been on Methotrexate since July, and honestly, it’s holding up okay, aside from having to deal with birth control.
Anyone else out there fighting the same battle? Reach out and tell me what meds you're on, how you're handling the pain, or if you hit up any spas/resorts to feel better. Let's swap stories.
Hit me up if you're going through the same thing!👍

And I don't mean just skimming a couple of sentences—read the whole thing first, then we can actually have a real discussion.

Look, I'm not trying to be rude! But seriously, what is up with vegetarians, all those fake gurus, self-proclaimed "saints," Saybabe, whatever? Is it possible that someone's making a killing by claiming everything except meat is "healthy"? And is it possible that people are overcorrecting on fatty foods just to pivot to massive amounts of GMO junk as a meat substitute? Soy, the go-to protein swap, is basically pure GMO. Scientists say modified soy has spread so much it's hard to believe there's even any non-GMO soybean left out there.
If soy is the big alternative to meat, then thanks, but no thanks. Enjoy it if you want, but please stop the propaganda before more young lives get wrecked. Those vegan kids... man, their physical and mental futures are being shot in the foot.
You gotta find balance in everything if you actually want to live a decent life.
I'm not trying to talk about radicalism on either side, but let's be real: moderate exercise is a must these days, and a diverse diet is the best way to live. Whether you're hitting the gym, sticking to plant proteins, or maybe even messing with protein supplements to bulk up, variety matters.
