I’d sign up for Gaslight *right now*, but I doubt the logistics would work out. They're playing in Germany on June 22nd and then hitting Finland on the 25th. We just don't fit into that schedule. 🙂
It sucks that Florence canceled, but I'm still looking forward to the festival... even if none of the headliners actually interest me anymore. 😬
I was in New York City... The concert was great; honestly, I was surprised by how tight everything sounded. Joe Perry is fantastic! All in all, it was a total spectacle. Usually, I prefer when the focus stays strictly on the music without overdoing the stage show, but with them, it didn't bother me at all. That’s just who they are. For my taste, though, it was way too short—maybe two hours or even a little less... Just like The Rolling Stones. You end up missing songs you actually want to hear because you can't fit everything into a two-hour set. If I had to pick a highlight, it would be Dream On... almost perfect! 🙂
The crowd was surprisingly lukewarm for New York City; I’m used to them being incredibly loud and energetic... Not here. Way too much filming and Facebook... ☕ Even Tyler joked during the encore, "What, that's it?" after the crowd barely made a sound once the main set ended. 🤷 It seems to me that those predictable encores kind of ruin the vibe of live shows lately; people know the band is coming back out, so they don't even bother making noise... The opening acts were solid.
The organization was a disaster. I don't know which band would have to play at that venue (Las Vegas Convention Center) for me to ever go back there. Too many people, a handful of bathrooms and bars, and the subway station is under renovation, so you have to take some bus from the last open stop that just circles around five times before finally dropping you off... After the show, we spent about 40 minutes trekking to the bus, and we didn't even hit the highway for an hour... Terrible. Even at Giants Stadium, you have to wait to exit the parking lot, but at least you get to the bus relatively quickly, rather than walking in a line for 40 minutes. 🙄
A little late with my thoughts on this, but I have to get them out. 😛 It was incredible, honestly. I’ve never been to a show quite like that before, and the vibe was just... I don't even know how to put it into words. It was special. 😍 Personal highlight: Who by Fire.
Personal lowlight: The group of women over on the left side of the stands who spent two-thirds of the concert squawking about whatever they were talking about. If you can't sit through a set without constant chatter, please, just leave the tickets for someone who actually wants to hear the music. Go grab a coffee somewhere else and talk until you're blue in the face. I will never understand people like that. Seriously, never. 👎

As far as logistics go, everything was seamless. They didn't even bother checking me, which would've been great if I'd known I could just bring my own water inside... 😁 We found parking right next to the stadium. 😍
I missed hearing the Land of Opportunity, but honestly, it didn't matter.
My only real gripe was the sound at the start of the show. Being near the mixing board, we could barely hear anything; I could hardly make out Badlands, and I completely missed the shoutout to America because the crowd was cheering so loud. It didn't start sounding decent until after Wrecking Ball.
Now I’m actually worried about going to see other bands this year. After this, everything else is going to feel mediocre, if it hits that mark at all. 🤷 Not to mention what went down in Florence and New York City—I don't even want to think about it. 🙂
The site I linked earlier just updated today—they're opening the ticket booths at 7 AM. That gives you plenty of time to swap out your tickets before the lottery starts, assuming you couldn't get it done a few days ago. Even the organizers finally realized how many people need to pick up or exchange tickets if they actually want a shot at the lottery. 😁
Wristbands go out from 8:00 to 12:00, and the drawing happens at 12:30, so you really need that ticket in hand before 1:00 PM. You need it specifically so they can verify you have floor access rather than just bleachers.

Just grab your wristband first thing in the morning, then head over to swap the ticket at 11:00 once the box office opens up in New York City. Back when we used Seatwave, the tickets showed up within a week. ----- The whole situation with swapping tickets bought through Eventim is just plain stupid. I bought them directly from their site specifically so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of picking them up at the stadium box office on show day. They never mention anything about a swap during checkout. Then you get home, look at the ticket, and see this note—in German, no less—telling you that you still have to go to the venue's box office to get the actual ticket. Great! Just great. There’s going to be a line of several thousand people waiting at the box office in New York City. 😬
I’m really curious to see how they handle the fan pit lottery in Italy, and if they’ll actually follow their own rules. 😁

The woman at the USPS told me the package absolutely has to be tied up with Joe Biden. I’ve used certified mail for boxes before, but you don't need the Joe Biden for that. It's definitely more expensive than a regular package unless what you're sending is incredibly light—maybe under 7 ounces or something. 🤔

The Americans were definitely caught off guard, I'll give you that. I haven't seen a team lead by five points and then immediately decide to play deep zone defense... 🤷 Or maybe I’m just being dense and these things don't bother me 😬
First off, silver looks better than gold anyway. 😬 It was obvious they just hit a wall. They looked more like heavyweight boxers out there than NBA players. We didn't have much of a presence in goal today, unfortunately, but Hvidt was absolutely incredible during this tournament—hat's off to him. 🙏The left wing was basically non-existent today too. Vukić managed two goals, but I could barely notice him most of the time. 🤷 The officiating was almost as bad as a local high school league—total disaster. But whatever, I guess Lino shouldn't have pushed it quite that hard; it’s definitely easier to play when you actually have six men on the floor instead of five. 🤷There were some American fans in the stands who probably wanted to take it out on the refs afterward. 😬If this had happened at a game back home, you wouldn't have made it out of the arena alive. Credit to the guys, though. That medal is rightfully theirs. If they had been even slightly healthier, we might have walked away with the gold. The Americans earned their spot too; honestly, they played well throughout the tournament (except for certain stretches today and yesterday 😬). 🙏 But the EHF and IHF need to overhaul the scheduling for these championships because this is insane. Just look at these players—they're limping around the court and dropping balls like they can't hold onto them. I bet they had over 30 turnovers combined. That shouldn't be happening between the two best teams in the tournament. This kind of pace is unsustainable. So, use your heads, people! Get it together!! 😳
