slyviper6 said:So, here's the deal: I was working on a paper in Microsoft Word (about 14 pages long) and I've hit two snags.
The first issue is that I jumped straight into Chapter I on the very first page, but I actually needed an introduction there.
Now I'm stuck—how do I squeeze that intro in so it sits on page one, leaving Chapter I for page two?
The second headache is that the spellcheck isn't catching my mistakes, which I know are probably there (like if I accidentally type Froum instead of Forum).
Is there some little utility for this, or can I just tweak the settings in Word itself? Or am I doomed to fix everything by hand?
😕
First off, which version of Word are you running?
If you're using the 2007 version, just put your cursor at the very beginning of your text, go to Insert -> Blank Page, and a fresh page should pop up right above your work... Alternatively, you could just stick the cursor at the start and start typing your intro; everything else should just shift down automatically.
If you have the 2007 edition, you likely don't have the American English dictionary installed, which is why Word isn't flagging anything! You basically have two paths: buy an official language pack upgrade from an authorized Microsoft Office site, or just head over to this website, paste your text in, and let it highlight your errors.
