Gold isn't quite at the top of the list, but honestly, you wouldn't have been any happier with MuscleTech either

If you have a car, it’s honestly worth driving over to Canada to stock up on protein; it’s nearly half the price there.

Just grab some Optimum Nutrition. It's easily the best brand out there, so you really can't go wrong.😉

@Sam Roberts/">@@Sam Roberts, you'd probably see better results if you switched to a chest and biceps split along with back and triceps.

Get some Optimum Nutrition. It’s top-tier; you can't go wrong. 😉

@Jericho It's better to run chest + biceps and back + triceps.

Why?

I’d go with IBM myself. Right now, there’s a sale on those two proteins over at GNC, so it actually makes sense to grab them.

I know people love to argue about whether it's chest and triceps or biceps...

Look, I know people love to argue about whether to pair chest with triceps or go with biceps.

Push&pull is a standard routine.😉
One day hits chest and triceps, the next is back and biceps.
If you tried doing back and triceps first, your triceps wouldn't be recovered enough by tomorrow to actually hit your chest hard enough to matter...

Should I focus on dropping some body fat first, and then—once that's out of the way—start grinding on the muscle and *then* bother buying protein?

So, you're just skipping protein altogether?

Not exactly. In my experience, the more you work on building muscle mass, the faster you'll actually see those fat numbers drop. Plus, if you just stick to cardio to shed the weight, you run a serious risk of losing muscle instead of fat—it's essentially the opposite of what you want. You really need to incorporate strength training to "protect" that muscle while you're leaning out.

Catabolism, or did you mean anabolism? Pretty sure that was a slip of the tongue...

Right now, I'm following an Insanity program Monday through Friday—taking Wednesdays off to breathe—and then hitting the gym for some circuit training on Saturdays. Feeling pretty good about it, I guess.

lukaXXkralj - Honestly, if you're serious about seeing results, you've gotta keep your protein intake up constantly. It's non-negotiable.

Just grab some protein powder and stick with it, even while you're working on cutting body fat.

Does anyone remember the handle of that guy on the forum who used to hawk protein powder around here? I can't seem to track him down right now... Honestly, with the supply shortages we're seeing lately, I really don't feel like driving all the way over to Canada just to stock up, so I figured I'd see what he had available first.

Has anyone tried ordering protein supplements from Canada lately? I read somewhere that there’s been some new crackdown on imports, and honestly, I really don't want to deal with any annoying headaches at the border if my stuff gets flagged.

Look, if things go south, just knock out some pushups and crush a whole pack of Advil

So, I picked this stuff up about two months ago. A buddy of mine was hauling it in his car, and when he hit the checkpoint, the Customs agent started grilling him about what he was carrying. He just played it cool and told them it was for a friend—just some dietary supplements, you know? Since he didn't really act like he knew what they were, they didn't think much of it. He showed them a receipt for maybe $30 and they just let him slide.

Larry Morgan said:I don't see the logic in dropping $340 on 5 pounds of MyProtein when you can grab Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard for the exact same price.
Buying a 10-pound tub changes the math entirely, though, since it's only $167

Where can you actually find a 10-pound—or even a 9-pound—bag of Optimum Gold$167?

Looks like I messed up the math somewhere. I found the cheapest option at $630.

Are there seriously still people out there naive enough to buy MyProtein bags that don't even list the ingredients, only for it to taste like nothing more than plain powdered milk?🤦

Some people just never learn.............................

Hello there! I've been looking into the Perfect Body Shake from Weider lately. Since it includes both L-carnitine and protein, I can't help but wonder—is it actually worth incorporating into a routine aimed at shedding fat and improving overall physique?
