Nah, just grab a standard protein shake, watch your calories, and hit the gym.

Anyone know where I can snag a tub of MuscleTech Gold Standard Whey (2.352g), chocolate flavor, without getting absolutely fleeced? Looking for the best price if they offer shipping via USPS.

polleosport offers free shipping on orders over $133. I didn't use the mail; I just picked it up at their physical store. From what I've seen online in the States, most MuscleTech products hover around the $470-$167 mark. If my math is off, please correct me 🙂 and point me toward a cheaper spot (just not a local flea market)

Honestly, I don't mind using eBay or whatever. I just can't stand dealing with scammers. It’s frustrating when you try to reach out via email and they either give you the runaround or just go completely dark after you've already committed.
p.s. I saw a shop called FlaxShop listed on there, and they have $105 plus a $10 shipping fee. They're based out of Canada, but you mentioned earlier that I wouldn't have to worry about customs if the total stays under $100. So, what exactly counts as "customs" once it goes over $53?

I'm also curious about how the eBay process works. Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical about online shopping; in an era filled with scams, you rarely know if the product actually exists. I was even considering driving down to Canada myself to pick up 10 lbs of protein. I doubt they'd give me any trouble at the border.

You can carry $333 across the border, or use the mail for up to 160, though they usually don't sweat it if it's slightly over

Hello there.

I wanted to put out a little request here, and I’m truly hoping someone might be willing to lend me a hand... you see, I’ve been looking into getting some whey protein, since everyone says it’s the gold standard for supplements.

To be honest, my budget is pretty tight right now, soy options feel overpriced, and the other brands 🤷 aren't really on my radar. But the real kicker is my digestion... I’m honestly a bit worried about how it might affect my stomach. The thing is, I can't exactly go out and buy just a tiny 50-gram sample, because almost everything in the stores comes in huge tubs of two pounds or more, and they certainly aren't cheap.

So, I was wondering if anyone might be open to a little deal where you might sell me something in the ballpark of 50 grams? My only real requirements are that it’s a high-quality product and that it’s actually whey. Ideally, I'd love something without a bunch of extra additives, or at least nothing too crazy...

I’m currently living in Washington, D.C., though I’m originally from California. I am really hoping someone can help me out here, because I genuinely don't have a way to test how these proteins sit with my system. I feel like if I had about 50 grams, I could use it over three days and finally get an idea of how it works for me. So, once again, if anyone in the Washington, D.C. area could help, I’d appreciate it... or if you know of any other way to test this stuff without buying a massive tub, I'm all ears.

Thanks so much 😉

Customs won't be an issue for you, and as far as eBay goes, that stock is coming from Canada anyway.
The real kicker is that you'll burn at least $23 in gas just getting there if you're coming from a place like Chicago, depending on your vehicle and the mileage. As for those hidden fees, with Prosport
, you're looking at 98 cents, while everyone else is taking a 1% cut of the package value. Just watch the expiration dates regardless of where you buy.
Also, make sure the prices on that site include sales tax; some shops list prices without tax for regions outside the Eurozone. Your best bet is to just head straight to the Canadian domain (.si).

Polleosport still has that sale price running, but soon enough, Optimum will be pushing past 50 bucks in Canada too. You won't be able to bank on these prices once we fully integrate into the union.
Prices in America are going to climb just as fast...

And why does it strictly have to be Optimum Nutrition?
Is there some kind of magic dust hidden in the formula or something?

Since when was 47 dollars $105?
You’re definitely going to get hit with customs fees because that is way over $53, and since these are dietary supplements, US Customs officers are notoriously "sensitive" about them.🙂
When shipping via USPS, goods up to $53 usually pass through without being taxed, but if you even slightly exceed that amount, it all comes down to whether the customs agent is having a good day or not.

Supposedly the flavor is decent, but at the end of the day, it's what's inside that counts. It's mostly soy because that's cheap to source, which explains why the price point is so low. If you actually care about quality, stick to proven American brands like Gaspari Nutrition, Optimum Nutrition, BSN Medical, Ultimate Nutrition, Cytosport, or PowerBar.

Well, it doesn't strictly have to be that one, but I read somewhere that it’s the gold standard... Can anyone recommend a decent, cheaper alternative for a post-cardio protein shake? Ideally something I can just order online!
And look, it says right here $105!http://www.ebay.com/fitness-equipment...-listing-1643499 which means an extra ten bucks for shipping, plus potential customs fees if they decide to be difficult—which they probably will. I think I'll just look for something else.

The thing is, my budget is pretty tight, soy options are way too pricey, and I don't know much about the other 🤷 brands out there. My main concern, though, is my digestion. I'm worried it might really mess with my stomach. Since I can't exactly go out and buy just a 50-gram serving—most of these tubs are a kilogram or more—it’s also quite an investment.

So, I was wondering if anyone would be open to a deal where you might sell me about 50 grams or so? All I care about is that it's a high-quality product and that it's actually whey. Ideally, I'd love something without a ton of additives, or at least nothing excessive.

I'm living in Washington, D.C. now, though I'm originally from California. My advice—hit up some local supplement shops and ask if they carry any samples. Your other option is to head to a large gym that has a juice bar on-site and just grab a prepared shake (like the ones you'd find at a big club near the Trade Fair).

Also, double-check if the prices on that site include sales tax; some stores list prices without tax for countries outside the Eurozone. Your safest bet is to just open the Canadian domain (.si) immediately.

Are the prices on the FlexShop website excluding sales tax? There’s just one number listed with no extra details. The price for 4.5kg is 90 euros, which works out to about 675 + roughly $23 in gas from Washington, D.C., totaling 745, while the price at Pollo is $300. So, I think it's worth making the trip; I still have about a month and a half left in my "old" tub, so it's not urgent.

I realize prices are going up, but in my case, I won't be buying protein constantly (only until I'm fully in shape) because it's a pretty expensive sport.

I get that prices are going to climb, but personally, I won't be buying protein constantly—just until I hit my target physique—because it’s a pretty expensive habit.

Look, I already specified which domain includes the tax...
Basically, you're looking at the Canadian page instead of the American one. Of course the price looks lower, but there's no real difference if you compare local classifieds to what they charge in Canada. If you're hunting for that specific product, driving over to Canada makes sense because you can't find it anywhere else locally. Go ahead and grab it now if you think it's worth it, because prices in Canada are bound to spike again soon. The goal is clearly to bring Canadian prices in line with the rest of the European Union. In fact, I doubt they even have a legitimate reason to hike prices this aggressively; it feels more like a coordinated move between Canadian stores to squeeze out more profit. Sure, raw materials got more expensive—no argument there—but I don't think end-product prices have surged nearly as sharply anywhere else in the world over the last year as they have in Canada.

You can grab a 30g single-serve packet at a local Vitamin Shoppe; that's enough for one shake. I think it's $5.00, but I'm not 100% sure. They got different flavors.

That’s awesome, thanks so much. So, just to be absolutely sure—this is definitely whey, right? I'm honestly a little nervous about whether my stomach is going to handle it okay...

You’ve got a totally wrong idea about how much protein you actually need, because 50 grams is basically just two shakes for you, so if you drink that all in one day, you won't even realize you've had any at all! Just go ahead and grab yourself a tub of whey, maybe a 2lb size or even just a 1.1lb one, and start drinking it alongside your workouts and a solid meal plan, because if you don't get your diet sorted out first, no amount of protein powder is ever going to make a difference for you.

Good luck!
