I was actually planning on grabbing a ticket just to see The Cranberries! πŸ˜•
I mean, New Order were definitely at their peak way before the berries were even a thing.
But heyβ€”since I can't exactly pull the Killers or Placebo out of thin air, I guess seeing New Order isn't a bad backup plan... especially if they play some Joy Division tracks. πŸ˜›

Comparing those two is just madness, honestlyπŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚I mean, what on earth are you talking about with Plan B?🀷 πŸ˜‚

Hey, hold on a second!!! Just read the whole thing before you start venting... I wasn't trying to make a direct comparison, but lookβ€”if they announce Plan B as a headliner (honestly, I’m actually curious how their live set will sound), and they have exactly four and a half headliners scheduled, the math is definitely going to overlap. If you're really not feeling Plan B, they could always go with Frank instead... though that would be his third time playing...

Mah, it doesn't matter... actually, I'm glad you asked. Didn't want to look like an idiot in that thread 🀣

New Order peaked way before those guys even hit the scene.
Still, if I can't get my hands on Killers or Placebo, New Order isn't a bad consolation prizeβ€”especially if they dig into some Joy Division stuff. πŸ˜›

Peter Hook is actually playing some Joy Division tracks with his band this fall at Lollapalooza.

New Order could overlap with Jesus Christ himself for all I care; frankly, I couldn't care less about the latter. Juuuuuhu!

And besides, they play Digital, Shadowplay, and those other Joy Division tracks that Sumnet actually knows how to sing

Placebo? Please, they're just a band for emo kids. New Order is an absolute institution!

Jeffrey Morris3 said:Things are finally moving! But we can probably expect the usual issues every year; New Order will surely end up sharing a slot with Plan B or someone else equally big... It's the same mess every single year.πŸ™‚

If they are foolish enough to overlap any of the headliners, they might as well just pack it all in. They barely managed to scrape together a decent lineup as it is, and if they schedule two out of my three favorite bands at the exact same time, I'm going to lose it. 😳

Anyone know if they’re adding another headliner?
It's not that I'm complaining about New Order, it's just that since those other acts canceled, shouldn't they have filled those slots with someone else? They were supposed to announce more performers, right?

New Order hit their absolute prime decades before The Cranberries ever even existed.
Still, since I can't exactly drag the Killers or Placebo out here, New Order isn't a bad consolation prizeβ€”especially if they decide to cover some Joy Division...πŸ˜›

New Order is still at the top of their game, though unfortunately without Hook. As for The Cranberries, they were always a bit of a footnote, mostly defined by an incredibly grating vocalist...

What an absolute disaster of a lineup... Franz Ferdinand again? Seriously? At this rate, we might need to call in Gavrilo Princip just to break up the sheer boredom sweeping through NYC... and Kramp has bailed too... honestly, you can already tell what kind of vibe the band is going forβ€”it’s looking like a truly tough year for anyone actually attending Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival...

The whole festival turned into a hipster circus. Actually, when I really think about it, the entire thing was nothing more than a hipster circus from start to finish.

I'm selling a festival ticket for $100. If you're in Chicago, I can meet up in person to hand it over. Shoot me a DM if you're interested! πŸ˜‰

I mean, what are we even doing here? Suddenly, everyone is acting like New Order’s drumming is this massive thing you can't ignore, especially if you're looking at them as a reason to go... But what's the move now? Do we just grab tickets solely because they're on the lineup, or do we skip this one and just cross our fingers that they'll decide to swing back through the States for a solo tour sometime down the road...

Honestly, I'm stuck in that exact same dilemma.

Is there even such a thing as single-day passes? Though, honestly, even if they did offer them for a solo show, I highly doubt the price would be any lower than those $100.

New Order 😍😍😍😍

If The Cranberries had actually stayed on the lineup, I’d be there in a heartbeatβ€”no question about it. But as it stands? Paying all those $100 just for one single band feels like a massive overreach to me.

They exist... A day pass runs about $100
