Noah Hall98 said:What do you think about the booze and food situation? I don't know, honestly, that amount seems like a pretty reasonable number to me.

Not me.

Little scraps of paper are just begging to get lost, especially when you're stuck in the middle of a massive festival crowd like that. I mean, honestly, what is even the point of carrying around physical cash? Like, how else would the money actually end up on your credit card if you don't have a digital trail? It just doesn't make any sense.

Look, it’s the truth, alright? But honestly, that's exactly what they're looking for. We can sit here all day and call it stupid if it makes us feel better, truly, we can—but let's get real for a second: without a massive stack of cash, there is no show. Period. It's like trying to run a high-end steakhouse in Chicago without ever paying the suppliers; you might think you're being clever by cutting corners, but pretty soon the lights go out and nobody's eating. You need the money to make the magic happen.

And honestly, just looking at it from a different angle—completely separate from all this drama—it really just boils down to this: the more money you have in the bank, the less you have to lose sleep over these stupid little trifles. It’s like, when you aren't constantly checking your balance before buying a coffee, all these tiny, annoying inconveniences just stop hitting so hard. Money doesn't buy happiness, sure, but it definitely buys a massive buffer against the petty nonsense that usually ruins everyone else's day.

Spot on. Honestly, that’s exactly why I don't feel even a shred of regret about people like that—because if he actually had any real substance to begin with... $167 Just grab a drink, seriously—if you’re properly hydrated and have something in your hand, you won't go under!

I'm curious how Coachella plans on explaining this one.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...-festival.html

Looks like Florence doesn't actually need surgery during Coachella after all. She’s fully recovered and bouncing around at shows again..

Btw.. three comments about this got nuked from Facebook!

I guess Florence should be the one explaining it, rather than Coachella. She actually posted a video for her fans apologizing for the cancellation and mentioning it was due to a foot injury. You can find it on the Coachella YT channel.

The whole situation regarding her canceling that Chicago show feels incredibly suspicious to me. I watched that apology video they pinned to the Coachella page right after the news broke—and get this—she doesn't even mention Chicago. In fact, towards the end, she just says, "I'm sorry I won't be able to perform for you this weekend." 🤔 What a weekend, my god... They’re claiming she’s having surgery that day, yet in the video, she’s talking about taking off some surgical shoe and needing to practice walking. I pointed out the discrepancy in their comments on Facebook, but they completely ignored me—or maybe they just deleted it.

Honestly, I don't see it that way. 🤷
It doesn't strike me as odd at all, especially that "this weekend" bit—I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if she barely knows her own tour schedule half the time. Maybe they tried to book her and the money wasn't right, or she just hated the terms, so everything fell through at the last minute. You can tell from the video that she’s genuinely pissed off.

She has a gig on June 21st, then nothing until the 25th when she hits Glastonbury. So, it actually makes sense that she blew us off if she really needs those few days to recover.

Honestly, it’s just pathetic how they sold this whole "emergency surgery" narrative. It’s total nonsense. There’s no surgery, no cast being removed, nothing.
Facebook wiped all my comments on this topic. Which is even more depressing, right? I can see my own stuff, but nobody else can. Just another way to manipulate people's perception of reality.
I would have respected them more if they just said she needed more money than they had, or that she canceled because of X or Y. But spinning this story about needing surgery on the exact same day as Coachella is just moronic.
Then they go ahead and post that damn video on their YouTube channel, claiming it’s an update for Coachella fans. It’s painfully obvious it isn't even an update for Coachella; it’s clearly for some other festival where she actually *was* getting a cast removed or whatever. Look, I get it—it’s easy to lose track of tour dates and schedules, but you can't be that lost. They wrote "this weekend," but the show isn't even for another month. It's literally four weeks away.
Man... I'm just disappointed. Between the comment deletions and being blocked from commenting on YouTube... it's gross.

I’d much rather they just admitted she wanted more money than they had, or that she canceled for some other reason... anything but lying about needing surgery on the exact same day as Coachella. It’s honestly retarded.
Then they have the nerve to put that damn video on their YouTube saying it's an announcement for Coachella attendees, when it's blatantly obvious it isn't for Coachella—it's for some other festival where she actually *was* getting a cast removed or whatever was on her leg. Look, I get being lost in schedules and dates, but you aren't so clueless that you say "this weekend" when the gig is next month... we're talking a full month away.
Honestly... I'm just disappointed. Between the deleted comments and the inability to even comment on YouTube... it's disgusting.

I second this.
If she canceled (which is highly likely since she never even confirmed her Chicago show on her official site), why didn't they just tell us? Instead, they posted a video where anyone with a rudimentary grasp of English can tell it has nothing to do with us.
I don't know who messed up or who they're trying to cover for, but frankly, the Coachella management should have just been honest with the fans. Deleting comments only makes them look worse.
On the other hand, if Florence was too expensive for them this year, why would she be more affordable next year? And who even guarantees we'll still be listening to her in 2016?

If you look at how she uses the phrase "this weekend," it’s pretty obvious she isn't sure of herself & it seems clear she doesn't even know where or when she was supposed to perform. If she had made that video for some other festival, people would have caught onto which one immediately.

I’d say she screwed over the Florence crowd more than Coachella. As for deleting comments—I don't really see the issue; I assume they're just fed up with everyone being toxic... from the people demanding refunds to those pushing conspiracy theories.

If she had made that video for some other festival, people would have already called her out on which one.

I’d say she screwed over the crowds in Florence before I’d blame Coachella. As for them deleting comments—honestly, I don't see the big deal. I assume they're just fed up with everyone talking trash... from the people demanding refunds to the ones spinning conspiracy theories.

Conspiracy theories? Give me a break. She probably bailed on Coachella because she didn't like the contract terms, or maybe she just didn't feel like showing up to an American festival when she could be prepping for Glastonbury instead. Her leg is fully healed anyway; otherwise, she wouldn't be bouncing around from festival to festival like this.
Anyway... the whole thing lacks any transparency. Coachella is scrubbing comments because they can't handle the bad PR. They even cut ties with Rolling Stone US and their local music partners.

Look, even if the artist technically screwed up, it’s not really our problem—the blame falls squarely on the promoter. It's their job to have a signed contract in hand BEFORE they start hyping someone up to the public. Announcing next year's lineup already? That’s just straight-up comedy at this point.
By the time they realize they should have just grown a pair and told us the truth from the jump, it’ll be way too late. This festival will be dead in the water by then.

Andrew Gomez40 said:Even if she technically screwed up, it doesn't really change much for us—the organizer is the one at fault here. It’s on them to have someone else lined up BEFORE they announce a headliner. Announcing next year's lineup already feels like a joke.

Yeah, she definitely messed up... But if the organizers had just been straight with us, it would've been different. Like, "Look, Florence Nightingale canceled because she didn't want to play Coachella, or maybe she agreed and then realized the pay was too low..." Fine. Whatever. We'd take that. But this constant runaround? It’s driving me crazy.

I mean, look, maybe they’re worried about getting slapped with a massive lawsuit, or perhaps they're just terrified that if they push too hard, nobody will show up to Coachella next year, so they're playing it safe. There's probably some behind-the-scenes reason or some legal loophole we haven't even heard of yet. But honestly? It's a stretch. I find it really hard to believe they're actually that much of a bunch of idiots.

Assuming it even happens next year. For now, only this year's three-day pass holders can grab the next early bird deal—apparently because one performer is already a sure thing. It'll be quite the spectacle if they pull a vanishing act in 2026 too 🎉

http://www.nytimes.com/article/death-cab-for-cutie-review.aspx

I’ve tried listening to all those bands people compare them to, but Death Cab for Cutie? Never really my vibe—no matter how many times I gave them a shot. And after reading this review, it sounds like they’re basically just hanging on by a thread at this point... so, yeah. Just another example of an act playing Coachella. On the flip side, totally loved the Florence + The Machine piece (check out the other review). Hmm.

I think the new Death Cab for Cutie record holds its own against their older stuff. Personally, I’ve always found them a bit too sappy, so I wasn't holding my breath. It’s actually a pretty sharp observation to say they've just become a regular band rather than "the" band.

It honestly sucks how much Bruno Mars gets overlooked by audiences here. He’s out there with a relatively fresh album that's been getting killer reviews. The New York Times gave him a solid 4/5.

Look, the guy is fine, I guess, but he just hasn't quite found his footing yet. He’s definitely not headliner material in my book. It’s just typical of the UK media to take someone like him and manufacture this massive, overblown hype, acting like he's some kind of global megastar when he really isn't.
