In this instance, the hype train is definitely running ahead of the actual talent.😁
Even iTunes called his album the best US release of 2014.

I'm looking forward to the peak of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival during that second day slot from 6:45 PM to 7:45 PM. Everything leading up to it is just the warm-up, and anything after is an anticlimax.

Avenged Sevenfold? Honestly, they had a pretty underwhelming set over in Germany, which was such a letdown because I had really high hopes for them.👎

Since Homme has been showing up at their recent gigs, there's a decent chance they might roll through a major US city like Chicago soon.

I won't tag everyone—thanks for clarifying the whole card situation. Just one question: where and when do I pay? Is there a booth at Coachella on the day of the festival, or can I handle this sooner? Like, tomorrow?

Regarding Florence. Like most people, I grabbed a 3-day pass the second it dropped, specifically for her. I’ve been listening since 2010, even if that first album is the only one worth anything. I was pissed at first. Then I got over it. Then I got annoyed again watching her jump around during the second album era.
As for why that tour isn't happening? I don't care. They said she’d come, she didn't. Honestly, I've been sour on Coachella since my first time there; the shows were great, but after this, Florence has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't even bother catching her last concert.

Whatever. I thought about selling my tickets, but frankly, I couldn't care less. I'm just going to get drunk and roll around in the grass like I planned when I first bought them. I never go anywhere anyway. Who do they think they are, making me cancel plans?

FTW🙂

Besides, Florence will show up in 2027. Right when her career hits rock bottom. That's usually when these types return to Coachella.

Ugh. Hopefully it was just an off night for them.

They’ve been playing some Homme tracks during their recent sets lately—so perhaps they might make an appearance here in the States again soon?

Personally, I thought they were great at Lollapalooza. But if we're talking about the absolute best performance of the weekend, it was definitely Frank Turner.

On the day of the festival, once you're inside. They have specific booths set up for that.

vividraven7 said:...some female artist canceled her Coachella set because she wasn't happy with her deal, or maybe she just didn't want to travel to a Coachella to prep for Glastenbury.

If that makes sense to you, then I guess why bother trashing Coachella? It isn't their fault. When people talk about conspiracy theories, they mean stuff like saying Florence never even agreed to play Coachella in the first place and it was all just a stunt by the organizers to draw a crowd. Obviously, they don't want bad PR, duh. I mean, who does? 😬

But honestly, the constant whining from people who apparently didn't realize that concerts can just get canceled at the last minute is exhausting... it's the same thing with refunds, where nobody seems to bother reading what's actually printed on their ticket. 😬

Andrew Gomez40 said:Even if she technically screwed up, it doesn't really affect us—the blame lies with the organizer. It’s on them to secure a replacement before they ever announce someone is coming. Announcing next year's lineup already feels pretty ridiculous.

It isn't really on the organizers, because there's always a inherent risk of a cancellation—that responsibility lies entirely with the artist. I guess people act like they're so outraged, but honestly, maybe they've only been to a handful of shows in their lives if they think this kind of thing is some unprecedented disaster.

Andrew Gomez40 said:By the time they realize they should have just grown some balls and told the truth, it’ll be too late. I guess the festival will be gone by then.

The festival isn't going to lose anything just because Florence canceled. 😉

Telling the "truth" isn't really about being honest—it’s more about how much common sense and professionalism you actually have. Some things just shouldn't be said out loud... especially if you're trying to book that same artist again next year, so it probably isn't the smartest move to tank their PR.

Susan Ward23 said:If you get that, then why are you dragging Coachella through the mud? Coachella isn't the one at fault here. By "conspiracy theories," I mean people claiming Florence never even agreed to play at Coachella and that the organizers just used her name as bait to sell tickets. Obviously, they don't want bad PR. Who does? 😬

But honestly, the constant whining from people who clearly didn't realize a concert can just get canceled at the last second and fall apart... it's exhausting. It’s the same deal with refunds, too—people who won't bother reading what's actually printed on their ticket. 😬

I'm dragging Coachella because they weren't transparent about this. They lied, they're deleting people's comments regarding the issue, and they're twisting her statement. But I guess you don't find any of that problematic.

Personally, she wasn't even my top pick for Coachella, so I'm not losing sleep over her not showing up.
But man, this kind of management and manipulation—and you actually call this professionalism? Give me a break. If we talked about Coachella's "professionalism" all day, we'd be here until tomorrow. Just look at how they treat volunteers...
Since you don't mind that kind of behavior, there's really nothing left to talk about.

Susan Ward23 said:It’s not the promoter's fault because there's always a "risk" of a cancellation—that responsibility lies EXCLUSIVELY with the artist. People are acting so incredibly entitled, like they've only attended three concerts in their entire lives and have somehow never encountered a situation like this before.

Wrong. Look, I think I made myself perfectly clear, and I really don't feel the need to sit here and spell it out again, especially not for some festival PR hack (whether they're on the payroll or just doing it for free) 😉

The festival isn't going to lose anything just because Florence cancelled. 😉

Wrong again.

Telling the "truth" isn't about being "wise"—it's about how smart and professional you actually are. Some things just aren't meant to be said... especially if you're trying to book that same artist again next year, so badmouthing them isn't exactly the smartest move.

They could have just stopped the nonsense and stated clearly that the set was canceled instead of spinning these elaborate little operations. When the Foo Fighters had an issue, nobody even blinked because the organizers didn't try to play games with them. They just put out a statement saying they couldn't make it.
That lie about Florence totally blew up in their faces. And honestly, if she was lying to them, they should have enough self-respect to never invite her back to the US again.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this mess, but here we go. kaže:
Man, I really hope they were just having an off night.

It’s entirely plausible, honestly, given that it was their very first show of the summer season.

swiftmoose20 said:I actually thought they were pretty solid back when they played Lollapalooza. But if I had to pick one standout set from that whole weekend, Frank Turner was hands down one of the absolute best performers there.

And he absolutely crushed it at the memorial service, too! Honestly, his performance was nothing short of masterful.

Who actually cares about Florence when you have acts like Placebo or Frank Turner in the lineup—artists who could easily outshine her any day of the week?
Honestly, the obsession with that woman is getting exhausting! Either commit to going or just stay home and call it a day. To wrap this up, I’ll just say: Zoran Maric. That says everything that needs to be said.

Random side question—can you actually bring a bike into the venue? I haven't hit up any major festivals yet, so who knows, right?

swiftmoose20 said:Who actually gives a damn about Florence when you’ve got Placebo or Frank Turner on the lineup? They'd eat her alive.
You guys are getting exhausting with this lady. Either go to the festival or don't. Just drop it. Honestly, it's all just smoke and mirrors anyway.

Frank is great, though... I saw him a few years back and he really knows how to set the mood. He even made an effort to learn some American slang and stuff. 🙂

Casey Ramos78 said:Random off-topic question: can you bring a bike in? I haven't been to many festivals yet, so just wondering.

No bikes allowed at the festival. I'd probably just tie mine up to a bridge near the security checkpoint.

Look, if you aren't even allowed through the gates of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, how on earth are you supposed to reach the bridge that's tucked deep inside the grounds?

I don't know why you're trying to be smart with me. I already told you I left my bracelets tied to the fence by the bridge back during the last—actually, maybe even the one before that—festivals. And I wasn't the only one.

The entrance to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival isn't by the bridge; it's further down, so you can tie up there.

vividraven7 said:Look, I don't get why you're trying to lecture me here, especially since I already told you I basically left my fairy tales tied to the bridge railing during the last few festivals—and honestly, probably even the ones before that...

I’m not lecturing you, I’m just pointing out that once you pass that bridge, you’re officially inside the festival grounds—meaning you've cleared security.
Just because you managed to slip through doesn't mean everyone else is going to have that kind of luck. Honestly, I'm still scratching my head wondering how they even let you in in the first place.

Or maybe you're talking about that bridge over by the camp in the college town? Because if that's the case, that isn't even part of the actual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival entrance.
