Anyone know how the payment situation works at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival? Can I just use any contactless card—like one from JPMorgan Chase—or am I stuck needing a specific one from Bank of America?

It’s been a while since I was in the city, and this is my first Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. How cold is it at the stadium? I guess there might be heavy rain on Tuesday or maybe just drizzle. I assume umbrellas won't be allowed.

Look, we are absolutely screwed this Tuesday. We're talking heavy rain, wind, and enough mud to swallow you whole up to your knees. And don't even think about getting warm tomorrow night because those desert nights near the lake get chilly fast. You better pack long sleeves—actually, just pack two layers, seriously.

The organizers have banned umbrellas, which is just classic, and these geniuses haven't even realized they could be making a killing selling those cheap disposable ponchos for $1.75 a pop. Man, I miss the days when Verizon used to hand them out for free...

Exactly. Instead, last year you had this massive crowd wandering all over town just trying to hunt down some ponchos for day three—they really missed a huge profit opportunity there.

On another note, I find myself liking FFS more and more every time I listen. It’s such a fun, laid-back album—even a little self-deprecating at times! I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the absolute peak of Sparkasse or FF, I think there's still room to grow, but it definitely has potential. Since I'm a fan of both bands (though I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fanatic), I'm pretty happy with it.

What do you mean he isn't? He’s selling out major arenas across Europe and playing almost every major festival.
Given how the final lineup looks, he’s actually the first name listed for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

It's pretty straightforward logic: if you lose your card or some jerk swipes it, you still haven't actually lost access to your cash yet.

Frank Turner was absolutely killing it yesterday—such a genuine guy, super witty, and his connection with the crowd was just 🙏. And obviously, the songs are top-tier! 😍

I honestly felt bad that there weren't more people out there for his set. 😢

On the flip side, Paolo Nutini had a massive crowd, but he barely said a word to the audience—he actually came off a bit detached 🤔, almost like a "look at me, I'm hot and have a great voice" vibe, and his choice for the final few songs was 👎. Instead of getting the energy up, it was just all these slow tracks, and I overheard a few people nearby saying they were totally zoning out. Don't get me wrong, his songwriting is incredible, but he could definitely learn a thing or two about stage presence and pacing a setlist from Frank Turner.

There aren't any official lockers—unless you want to pay extra for the privilege. I’d suggest just keeping your parka right by the entrance to Central Park, maybe once you hop off the shuttle bus that drops you off at the festival gates.

I wasn't there for the opening day, but I’ll say it again—Frank Turner could easily outshine Florence + The Machine for breakfast. Honestly, you all should just give up on Florence. You really ought to—if you haven't experienced Frank firsthand, you're missing out. Just like me. I suppose I'm lucky enough to have seen him live three times now, which offers a small amount of consolation 🙂

I have to admit, I hadn't really listened to him before, but I started diving into his stuff a few days before the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and he seriously didn't disappoint. Actually, it was a massive, lovely surprise! 👍

He even went out of his way to sing part of a song in American. 🙏

Yeah, I was looking forward to Florence, but it’s not like the whole trip is ruined or totally pointless just because she canceled (though I have a feeling she hasn't even officially confirmed it yet, but whatever).

It’s going to be a blast today. We've got girls in topless outfits and mud wrestling. You wouldn't believe it. 😢
