Past INmusic Festival lineups & sets (Archive)

Cypress Hill put everything they had into that set, yet the crowd was completely lifeless. It was like they were sitting through a chamber orchestra performance rather than a band meant to tear up an outdoor festival.🤷
The only moment we actually felt some semblance of energy among our group of ten was when B-Real dove into the crowd. I ended up taking a few hits to the ribs from the chaos, but at least it was proof they actually showed up to a concert instead of a funeral service.
As for the ticket prices, drinks, food—it was a total disaster.
It’s their first year dealing with venue fees in Washington, D.C., and they’re already throwing money around like the organizers had to take out two separate mortgages just to cover the overhead.😂

$6.75 For beer that bad, it's honestly a total nightmare

Arrived around 6:30 PM on day one—no crowds, no drama, just an easy entry.
We kicked things off with Elvis Jackson; they were incredible, and honestly, I’d been waiting a long time to catch them live. Arcade Fire followed—absolutely flawless. We wandered around afterward and stumbled upon some food trucks serving these amazing tacos, which was a total pleasant surprise.
Day two started with Elemental. We were running a little behind, but we made it, sat down, and just soaked in Remy's music and vibe. It was great. Then came Mastodon. I was really hoping they'd lean into the new album more rather than the old stuff—the classics aren't really my thing—so that was a bit of a letdown. Still, a solid day overall. Afterward, we hit up the Streets... what even was that? Just some terrible pop-rap nonsense. To wrap up the festival, Nick Cave took the stage—that old man just tearing it up out there. Phenomenal, truly flawless.

I don't know about you guys, but despite all the talk about split tickets, it felt way more crowded than last year. And considering how much we complained about the whole thing...🙂

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go complain about the overpriced beer from $6.75

I'm still processing that set. Honestly? A bit of a mess, but I can't stop thinking about it. It was definitely one of those nights where everything felt slightly off, yet strangely right at the same time. Just a weird, beautiful disaster. kaže:

This band looks like some high school choir group. Like, Glee, anyone? 🙂Some obscure act nobody’s ever heard of was playing this wild mix of everything—disco, Afro beats, even some symphonic prog rock riffs. They managed to hype up a crowd of like 500 people. When they started, there were maybe 20 curious onlookers hanging around the stage, but as more people drifted in, everyone just got caught up in the vibe. It all wrapped up with this massive choreographed moment involving way more people than we originally saw. 🙏

I'm with you on that one. Honestly, at the end of the day, I walked away from the festival feeling pretty stoked. It was a blast.
Za $100 Man, looking back at all those bands... it was totally worth it. Every single one of them.

Honestly, even the organization was top-notch. I didn't have to wait in line for a beer once, there were no crowds blocking the way, and I breezed right through the entrance since I rolled up around 7:00. Everything was just smooth.
Honestly, my only real gripe is how much they're charging for a beer.

And honestly, it makes me pretty happy to see that every single review I've come across agrees that TV on the Radio put on one of the absolute best sets at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. No joke...

Grinderman was great, the TV coverage was solid, and Arcade Fire was amazing—even though I don't usually listen to them much. Same goes for Rage Against the Machine. Jamiroquai was a bit underwhelming, which is a bummer because I actually like them. The Rolling Stones were pretty boring, but the Boy was just something special. I don't drink beer, but those free popcorn bags were honestly delicious. I managed to dodge the entry lines by showing up early both days. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was incredible—seriously, what a blast. See you all for day three!

I must say, I am quite relieved that I didn't make the trip this year... $6.75 beer? Good grief... if they could just manage to book Foo Fighters for next year, then perhaps our paths might cross 😁

Let’s clear up some of those lingering questions—the headliners were strictly capped at a 90-minute set, and as for bicycles, they weren't allowed inside unless you were part of the festival staff or one of the folks in the rented RVs... which was pretty much everyone else.
The high prices for food and drinks probably stem from the fact that the organizers had to shell out nearly $110,000 just to lease the island from the local holding company—though, word is the festival will likely move to a new location next year... mostly because those disorganized planners from Zurich are being incredibly difficult and frankly, quite lazy about the logistics.
I only managed to catch the last 20 minutes of my favorites, AF, but man, it was absolutely sublime—the visual production was just stunningly beautiful... I’m really hoping to catch them somewhere else soon to make up for the time I missed.

I was just chatting about this with some buddies of mine—and our consensus was a hard no! The reason? It’s those weirdos who will only ever drink one single beer, no matter how much it costs 😢

Even with beer priced at $6.75, and considering it felt like a slightly smaller crowd than last year, the organizers still managed to pull in a bigger profit than they did last time.
