How on earth did you manage to snag one? Did you actually get to watch him sign it right in front of you, or did you just hand off an album to someone else and hope for the best?

Everything’s fine—but honestly, when they sign things, they could just do it on the inside cover (I personally prefer it that way)—so their original vision for the art stays untouched. 👍

p.s. It wasn't exactly a struggle for Manu Chao or the Walkabouts to sign on the inside. 😉

Well, there's that... One of the conditions was that I’d have to watch my mouth later on, which is something I am more than capable of doing myself. 🤷 It really wouldn't be right for me to go back on my word now, especially considering I owe a significant favor to the crew.

That being said, just to clear the air and dispel any lingering suspicions: I was *not* some obsessive groupie. 😁

Had I realized that I would spark such debates (with the exceptions of Burning Man and analogbadger5), I wouldn't have posted anything on this online forum, neither before the festival, and certainly not after.

I am not actually upset; my experiences on this forum have generally been quite positive, but one can find landmines everywhere.

I didn't share this to impress anyone or—heaven forbid—to cause an uproar (after all, I don't even know anyone here, for starters). A few days ago, I initiated a conversation by asking the veterans if it was even possible to track down an autograph, and today I simply wanted to bring that same discussion to a close in this manner.

It wouldn't be much of a world if we all liked the exact same things, so I certainly didn't come here fishing for compliments or standing ovations. My primary goal was to gather information, followed by (ideally) pleasant, rational, and civilized discussions regarding our shared interests.

And if your conscience and upbringing allow you to express yourself in the manner you persistently do here, then any discussion immediately ceases to be pleasant, rational, or civilized.

In any case, when someone like that directs bitter criticism my way, it only makes me more satisfied with having achieved my goal.

But how did you jump from me being critical about autographs on covers to concluding that I actually had a bad time this year? I already mentioned that I managed to catch everything I wanted to see, and getting six top-tier bands for $100 an amazing deal is hard to beat, especially compared to when I last went two years ago, and if it weren't for those minor hiccups with the wristbands and the scheduling overlap on the second day, it would have been flawless... So, unlike plenty of people here who were genuinely bashing various parts of the festival, I actually praised it and said I'm already looking forward to next year, so why you want to turn me into some frustrated, angry forum warrior just because I'm not a fan of the autograph situation is really up to you, and instead of handing out advice to everyone else, maybe you should take your own advice...
