And honestly, when someone claims they eat a ton, it usually just means a handful of granola and yogurt in the morning, a pastry later on, maybe a deli sandwich for lunch, and then just two slices of toast with some spread for dinner. 😁

-eat meat, lots of meat, eggs, and don't be afraid of healthy fats (and I don't mean greasy fast food burgers)

haha.. actually, you couldn't be more wrong if you tried! I eat meat and eggs every single day... truly every day, because I really couldn't live without them. And I definitely don't just pick at a few bites here and there; I'll go through about three large steaks until I'm actually full, and I usually eat around four or five times a day, but it still doesn't seem to help!! :P

🤣

Is there any chance of side effects, or is it okay to keep using protein even if it's past its expiration date?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I imagine you probably wouldn't experience any issues.

If those issues affect most of the population...👍
it's usually the other way around.

Personally, I've used protein supplements, but my results were pretty much the same whether I used them or not because I was eating a healthy, balanced diet.
I haven't heard of anyone dealing with constipation from it, especially with Optimum Nutrition whey.. compared to other stuff.

On another note, has anyone had success using CLA? I tried it before, but didn't notice much of a change, though I wasn't training as hard back then. I'd consider trying it again now, though. Any recommendations?...

I’ve been checking out the protein prices over at Nike in Vienna and honestly, they’re a joke compared to what we pay here in the States...😂, basically they're way cheaper

Does anyone actually head over there to stock up on supplements? Is it just one shop in downtown Vienna or are there locations closer to the suburbs?

I don't, really. I usually just order everything online and wait for the mail carrier to bring it right to my door. ☕

Oh, it is absolutely true—those prices are just ridiculous!
In fact, my boyfriend and I are planning a little road trip over to Canada this coming weekend specifically to pick up some protein for ourselves and a few friends. If you'd like, we could grab some for you; how much would you actually need??
I just want to make sure we know exactly how much it will cost us, because we certainly wouldn't want to deal with any unexpected customs fees. 🤷

Anyway, if you decide to just order it online for delivery, the price ends up being pretty much the same as if you bought it locally... so, who knows. We usually just rely on his friend who used to drive over to Canada to grab everything, but apparently, he was completely swamped with orders this time around...

They do shipping to a small town in the Midwest.

nah, no need, I live right near the border so I'm just going with my brother🙂, I'll just tell them which post office to send the package to (like a small town in the Midwest, for example) and then I'll just head down there and pick it up myself...🙂

I know ordering within the States definitely costs more...🙂

for instance, a 4.5 KG tub of Optimum Nutrition whey goes for about $257 here, but over there it's only $123........thank God I didn't blow too much cash on this stuff back when I lived here, seeing what the prices are like now

So that's almost double the protein content?
Could you give me an idea of how much sugar we're actually talking about here?
I'm not really great with the math on grams... if 30g of protein is roughly 3 teaspoons, how many teaspoons of sugar are hiding in those 3 portions of protein?

I actually live near the border too... so maybe I could make use of that?
Does that mean I just order it to one of their post offices and then swing by to grab it?
And where exactly do you order from? Which website?

🤔 Just run those numbers one more time for me, just in case.. 🤣
+ don't forget to factor in the 8.5% sales tax and shipping..

amberowl7 said:So you're saying there's almost twice as much sugar as protein?
Could you give me a rough idea of how many tablespoons we're talking about here?
I'm having a hard time visualizing the grams... If 30g of protein is roughly 3 tablespoons... then how many tablespoons of sugar are packed into those 3 servings of protein?

It would be about 3 tablespoons as well, since sugar is denser than protein.

Go check out their website and look at the prices. The guys here are straight up robbing us blind. You can find a few of those shops over in Canada

sorry, it's roughly $160plus 8.5% sales tax and $3.90 for shipping

either way, if you live CLOSE BY, it's worth it😉

Just a quick beginner question here...

If you're watching every single gram you consume... is it really okay to have almost 3 tablespoons of sugar every day?
Honestly, I'm a bit lost on this one... 😕

Because I have no clue about grams... if 30g of protein is roughly 3 tablespoons... then how many tablespoons of sugar am I looking at alongside those 3 tablespoons of protein?

I honestly wouldn't know how many tablespoons that would be.🤷

Personally, I just grab some raisins after my workout—usually about 100 grams worth.

amberowl7 said:Now, just a total newbie question here...

I honestly don't get it... 😕

I mean, what’s the big deal with 50 grams? It's only about 200 calories.

As for the actual weight in grams, I never really bother tracking exactly how much of what I'm eating I'm consuming. I only know those 100 grams of raisins because I just eat the whole package and check the label once.

As for the exact weight, I don't really weigh everything out. I just know those 100 grams of raisins is roughly what's in one of those little snack packs I finish.

But when I look at it, it feels like eating sugar!
And we all know sugar isn't great for you. 🤣
It makes me wonder...

And sugar is pure evil! 🤣
It definitely feels a little weird to me...

Give it a little while longer and you won't be able to find anything that isn't junk, so you might as well start training your body to handle the chaos now.😬 😛
