I freaking knew I was going to screw something up with this menu...
Installed it, but you can't actually add anything to it—like dragging shortcuts from the desktop right in there—plus they slapped some "CSmenu" label on the side.
2 . The Control Panel doesn't even have that classic icon layout anymore.
Uninstalling wasn't exactly a walk in the park either; Windows just doesn't handle these kinds of modifications very well. 🙄

I'm honestly just going back to the old way since it’s way more comfortable, but man, it wouldn't have killed them to just leave that feature in the new Windows 7.

Btw, how much RAM is the new Windows 7 eating up for you guys? I'm seeing less than 12 GB.

Everything's fine, except for the fact that this garbage site Imgur takes an entire period of a hockey game just to load a single image. 😁

As for our friend ico1...
You really managed to screw up the simplest installation imaginable.
Next—next—you uncheck the box on the ASK toolbar and it still won't work.
🙏Shame on you:

And as for our buddy velvetfalcon44...
you totally botched the simplest installation imaginable...
next—next—you uncheck the box on the ASK toolbar and boom, it’s broken all over again...
🙏shame on you:

It’s not that I didn't do it right, it's more about this: you can't actually add anything to it—like dragging shortcuts from your desktop inside—plus they slapped that CSM label on the side, which looks pretty tacky if you ask me.

As for everything else, I've gotta say, it feels way smoother than Vista.

I mean, what's the worst that could happen? My PC's been running hot for weeks straight just downloading torrents and I'm still fine 🤷

What kind of specs are we looking at here? I guess you should probably check if you actually have all your drivers installed in the Device Manager. 🙂

If I had it, I don't know why everything is blocking now, whereas on Windows XP nothing happens.

Did you go with the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows? What kind of specs are we looking at?

Just download and install this to check your specific setuplink. 🙂

Looks like something went sideways during the install. I’d probably just stick with the 32-bit version of Windows for now. If you don't mind, maybe try installing the 32-bit Windows 7 and see if it stops acting so sluggish.

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and reinstalled Windows again, but this time I switched to a different version of Windows 7, the 64-bit one, and everything seems to be working fine now... thanks.🙂

Hey everyone, known and unknown... I could use some help again 😉

First off, gotta say Windows 7 is solid. I’m pretty happy with it so far...

But here’s the deal... since I haven't installed any specific codecs or those movie playback packs, I'm wondering if I actually need them on Windows 7? I guess the picture quality isn't quite where I want it (mostly talking about DVD rips), so maybe that's why. I usually just run my movies through BS Player... anyway, does anyone know which codecs actually work with Windows 7 x64? If I do need them, what should I get? And while we're at it, what’s the best media player out there right now?

Thanks in advance

First off, let me say I’m really liking Windows 7 so far. It’s been great....

Now for the questions. Since I haven't installed any specific codecs or dedicated movie players yet, I'm wondering if I actually need them for Windows 7? The picture quality isn't quite where I want it to be—specifically when watching DVD rips. Currently, I'm just using BS Player to run my movies. Are there certain codecs compatible with Windows 7 x64? Which ones should I get if they are necessary, and what's your top recommendation for a media player?

Thanks in advance.

Just download and install VLC Media Player. It comes bundled with all the codecs you'll actually need.

It's me again... which program should I use to open an ISO file (.iso)? Deamon Tools isn't working for me... maybe?
