PowerPoint 2007
How do I set it up so objects trigger only when I actually click them, instead of just following the animation order I assigned? :/

Check out this tutorial for PowerPoint—specifically point 1.4.9. Might be what you need.

Sounds like you're looking for the PowerPoint slide master or just a PowerPoint master slide.
Check out one of these two links and you'll find what you need. Basically, you use the master slide to set a continuous background, kind of like setting a background in Word.

Like, using one single checkbox to fill 5 different cells with totally different data...

Look, can you just set up an example that actually matches your specific issue? Let's stop guessing and making stuff up.

Here’s an example...

This is how I've pictured it working...
My goal is that by selecting...TRUE...via checkboxes...in cells...D10 and D11
the checkboxes in these specific cells will automatically check themselves...
I10, N10, S10, X10, AC10
as well as
I11, N11, S11, X11, AC11

The key part is that the values...must be confirmed...and SUM should increase by the specific value assigned to each cell...

If anyone has a different approach... please share it... ideally with an example...
All I need is for selecting TRUE...in cells...D10 and D11..
to trigger all five data points...moving from ZERO..to a set value...and ensure the final SUM increases..

Download example

idk what's up with this forum lately, but I'm logged in half the time, then I try to hit Replay on a post and it just keeps asking for my login over and over.

Let's break this down. Honestly, I think you're making life way harder than it needs to be with that checkbox. Why even bother?

If I'm reading the situation right, I'd just handle it with basic formulas.
Just type input x—or any random char, number, or letter—into cells D10 and D11 and you're golden.

Here's the formula pairs:

I10: =IF(D10<>"";D10;"")
J10: =IF(I10<>"";TRUE;FALSE)

here's the fixed example

Can I actually install extra spelling and grammar languages for Word 2003 later on? Right now, German and Spanish aren't supported... can I just add them in, or am I stuck hunting down a better version of Word?

You hit the nail on the head regarding the issue... though it isn't really an issue anymore. 🙂
It can work without the checkbox... I'm happy with this solution. Thanks a million.
Right now, I just don't have the bandwidth to sit down and master Excel.
The software is incredibly powerful, though...

I have one more question for you... it goes something like this:

How do I move a specific number of entire rows from Sheet1
or just a set number of cells within a chosen row over to List2?
(I’d select those rows by marking them with an "X"... similar to how we did it before.
For example, I'd pick rows 8, 10, 16, 18, etc.)

I need them to be printed one after another in List2.

I'm using List2 to print my selection on standard US Letter paper,
so they need to be stacked vertically.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's impossible to read your mind or fix a problem when the description is this vague.

What do you actually mean by "move"? Are we talking Copy or Move?
The best way to get an answer is to just send a sample file. Show me the raw data and what the final result should look like. Use cell comments if you need to explain something. That’s the fastest way to solve anything—you probably could have guessed that from the first question.
Otherwise, I'm just guessing, and I'll probably be miles off from what you actually need.

If you're trying to copy specific cells (with fixed addresses) into a new row on another Sheet, check out this tutorial:

- Copying to a new row on another Sheet

If your issue is similar, there's a Macro in that tutorial you can tweak to fit your needs.

Look, you don't need to go out and grab a whole new version of Word just to get more language support.

BTW, did you even notice there's a specific thread at the top for Office questions? 😁

How do I stop getting those annoying errors when my macro tries to rename a sheet based on whatever I just typed into cell D4—especially when that name is already being used by another tab? It keeps crashing because it hits a wall with the existing names.

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address = "$D$4" Then
ActiveSheet.Name = [D4]
End If
End Sub

I’ve gone ahead and added page numbers, but they’re all stuck up there in the top left corner of the page. I have no clue how to move them over to where they actually belong—down in the bottom right corner like a normal document should look.

I was following this specific tutorial online.

The first page number ended up on the second page just like I wanted, but the rest of it is a mess.

You're looking in the Header when you should be hitting the Footer.

Just kill it in the Header and set it up in the Footer.

I honestly have no clue how to pull this off. I can't even figure out how to get to the actual Header and Footer options without the whole window popping up in my face every single time I try to go to View $\rightarrow$ Header and Footer.

And even if I actually managed to figure it out... considering I'm dealing with a massive 30-page document here...
I'll probably end up throwing my computer out the window before I ever get this thing organized properly.

I'm absolutely buried in work right now...
It's fine... no offense taken at all... I don't even know why you'd think that... you're right, though...
I get it—examples make finding a solution so much easier. You were quick to help...
Just rushing... pure chaos...
Don't feel bad about it either...

Thanks for the link... I think that's exactly what I needed...

I'll find a way to pay you back... maybe just by clicking on every ad I see...

Don't be like that. It's not rocket science and nobody's born knowing this stuff. You just gotta put in the work and actually want to learn. Let's take it step by step—check out these links:

- how to learn Word 2003 online for beginners
- download Word 2003 beginner e-book

You should've gone into section 2 and double-clicked the Footer. Look, if that's being a pain, just download this document I whipped up for you. The page numbering starts at one on the second page.

- Starting page numbering from 1 on the second sheet

Thanks, John.
I finally wrapped my head around how the Footer works, but I’m still hitting a wall trying to figure out how to shove it into the right corner instead of leaving it stuck on the left. It’s driving me absolutely nuts.

How the heck do I stop my macro from crashing when I try to rename a sheet using cell D4, but the name I type already exists somewhere else in the workbook?

The macro I'm running:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target as range)
If Target.Address = "$D$4" Then
ActiveSheet.Name = [D4]
End If
End Sub

.................................................. ..

Does anyone actually have a fix for this headache? 🤷

Just double-click the Footer, highlight the number, then hit the Right align button.

Donna Turner34 said:Anyone got a fix?

Probably won't solve everything, but here's a thought.
Try adding a little suffix to those Sheet names you're assigning. If the names are numbers, throw a +1 on there, but if they're text, just tack on a +"1"😉

Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address = "$D$4" Then
ActiveSheet.Name = [D4] + "1"
End If
End Sub

BTW: checking for Sheets

Function wsExists(wksName As String) As Boolean
On Error Resume Next
wsExists = CBool(Len(Worksheets(wksName).Name) > 0)
On Error Goto 0
End Function

Example

Sub test()
If wsExists("form") Then
MsgBox "Got it"
End If
End Sub

How should I go about this:
Write a VBA program for Microsoft Word that prints a sequence of numbers from 1 to 20, alongside my full name, across 20 lines.

Do the exact same thing using VBA in Microsoft Excel, but set it up so column A holds the sequence number, column B has my last name, and column C has my first name.
