Drew Perez4 said:When I copy text from a PDF into Word, what should I do so I don't have to manually reconnect all those broken lines—how can I get everything to merge back into one continuous block of text automatically? I'm using Office 2010.

Well, when you copy-paste, Word essentially treats the end of every single line as a paragraph break. You could technically perform a global replacement of that specific character with "nothing"—meaning you'd type ^p into the "search for" field, leave the "Replace with" box completely empty, and then hit "Replace All"—but, I suppose, that would effectively kill every single intentional paragraph break you actually wanted to keep, turning your entire document into one giant, unreadable wall of text.

If there happens to be an empty line between your actual paragraphs, you might try this little workaround instead:

- Replace the double paragraph mark ^p^p with a unique placeholder like #####;
- Replace the single ^p with nothing;
- Finally, replace those ##### placeholders back with ^p^p.

- Replace the ^p^p sequence with #####;
- Replace ^p with nothing;
- Replace ##### back with ^p^p.

That's it. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I could really use some help here—it’s getting a bit urgent!
I’m trying to take a triangle, a rectangle, and some text and turn them into one single, finished shape. Ideally, I want to save it as Clip Art or something similar so I can just grab it as one object and scale it up or down without everything falling apart.
I've already styled the triangle, the rectangle, and the text exactly how I want them.
Could someone please walk me through what the next step is?

Well, first you should put that text inside a TextBox, then group all three objects together into one single group. Once they're grouped, you can define that group as an AutoText entry. After that, you just type in whatever text you assigned as the shortcut for those objects, hit F3, and voilà—you're done. 🙂

I'm having a bit of a struggle here. The grouping option is completely greyed out for me. Any ideas?

So, here’s the thing,
I can't seem to find this specific setting
Whenever I'm typing and use "i" as a conjunction, it automatically capitalizes it to "I"
How can I go about fixing this?

How exactly did you draft the text? I mean—do you actually have the ability to just group a single triangle and a rectangle together right now?

Well, you didn't actually specify which version of Word you're running—that makes things a bit tricky, I suppose. Generally speaking, though, you should just Google how to disable Autocorrect—specifically the "Replace text as you type" feature—for your particular version. If you happen to be using the older 2003 version, it should be under Tools -> Autocorrect options.

Change the writing language from English to American 😁

If you can't get it to work or just don't feel like messing with the settings, you can always go to File, Options, Proofing, Autocorrect options... and just uncheck the part where it replaces "i" with "I".

Nicholas King said:How did you write the text? Also, do you know how to group just the triangle and the rectangle?

I'm just working on a basic logo since I'm not really an expert in CorelDRAW.
I managed to group the triangle and the rectangle—well, more of a square, really.
I just selected both, right-clicked, hovered over the group option, and boom, it worked.
I typed the text underneath the triangle, but for some reason, I can't get it to group with the shapes.
It clearly isn't working the same way it did for those two.
I used to do this stuff about five years ago, but I guess I've totally forgotten because I haven't needed to touch it in ages.

I believe I mentioned this in my very first response—just type your text directly into a TextBox (and if you don't like the border, just set the TextBox to have no outline). Once you do that, you should be able to group everything properly.

Thanks so much, man. This is great—knowledge really is power.

Hey there,
I could use some help with page numbering.
Look, I know how to add numbers, BUT
I'm wondering if there's a way to skip the first couple of pages
so the actual numbering doesn't kick in until page 3 (or whenever).
Basically, I want to avoid the whole hassle of printing my term paper cover page separately, then manually adding numbers and printing the rest later.🙂

Thanks a bunch!😉

It’s the exact same issue I’m dealing with, except on my end, the thread starts right at the first page 🙂
and that’s actually the post I was thinking of—it worked for me once or twice—I just couldn't be bothered to go hunting for it. 👍

Greetings to you all....

I have spent some time reading through various threads, and I notice many users tend to lead with "I am a beginner" or "I am new here." I prefer to skip the formalities and get straight to the point.

My goal is to develop a database using Microsoft Access. Since I have no prior experience with Microsoft Access, I find myself in need of guidance regarding the proper methodology. I previously constructed a similar system in Microsoft Excel for some elderly clients, but they found the interface somewhat cumbersome. Essentially, I intend to facilitate the issuance of goods from my retail store to a local Publisher. It is far more efficient to input this data into a computer than to manage a mountain of paperwork. My vision is that once a client's name is entered, fields such as their address, zip code, phone number, and city will populate automatically. Furthermore, I would like the invoice number and the current date to generate automatically whenever the data entry form is opened. As I list the items, I want the unit price and the unit of measure to appear instantly; then, upon entering the quantity, the total for that item should calculate itself, culminating in a grand total at the bottom of the form.

I offer my thanks in advance to those possessing both good intentions and steady nerves...👍

I've scrolled through quite a few threads, and they all seem to start with "I'm new here" or "I'm a beginner." I didn't really feel like starting that way, so let's just get straight to the point.

I want to build a database using Microsoft Access. Since I've never actually touched Microsoft Access before, I'll probably need some guidance on how to approach this. I put together something similar in Microsoft Excel for some older folks, but it was apparently a bit too complicated for them. Basically, I want to issue goods from my shop to a local publisher for our regular clients. It’s obviously much easier to type everything into a computer than to deal with a mountain of paperwork and scraps of paper. My idea is that once I type in a customer's name, fields like their address, zip code, phone number, and city would auto-populate. I also want the invoice number and the date to generate automatically whenever I open a data entry form. From there, I'd enter the item name, and the unit price and unit of measurement should pop up automatically. Then I'd just enter the quantity, calculate the total for that item, and have the grand total show up at the bottom of the form.

Thanks in advance to anyone with a good attitude and a lot of patience...👍
