I also want the invoice number and today's date to auto-fill the second the data entry form opens up. Then, once I start punching in items, the unit price and the unit of measure should just show up on their own. I'll toss in the quantity, get my subtotal for that item, and then have the grand total waiting for me at the bottom of the form. Done.

That link @Joshua Garcia3/">@@Joshua Garcia3 sent you isn't gonna do much for you anyway. I haven't even finished that tutorial—and honestly? Probably won't.
So, check out this link. Invoice (Just rename him to Publisher). This form does exactly what you said.

BrojListova = Application.Sheets.Count

For i = 1 To NumberOfSheets
select Sheets(i).Select
FirstRow = Range("$A:$A").End(xlUp).Row
LastRow = Range("$A:$A").End(xlDown).Row

Range("B" & FirstRow, "B" & LastRow).Select
select Selection.Value = "z"

Range("C" & FirstRow, "C" & LastRow).Select
select Selection.Value = ActiveSheet.Name

Range("D" & FirstRow, "D" & LastRow).Select
If (Month(Now) > 10) Then
Mjesec$ = "11" & (Month(Now()) - 1)
Else
mjesec $ = "110" & (Month(Date) - 1)
end if Selection
Value = ActiveSheet$

Next i

end Sub macro

The macro loops through every single worksheet. That’s where you can see exactly how to set up a loop.

Column A serves as the primary reference for determining the range where values will be entered. Just a heads-up—if you're working with headers, you'll need to adjust the expression for FirstRow accordingly.

It populates columns B, C, and D with the exact values you were looking for.

It’s entirely up to you what you want to enter as the month for January. And once we hit 2012—though I'm assuming this "11" actually refers to 2011—you can decide how to handle that too. 🙂)

🙏🙏🙏

Nice work. That is exactly what I've been looking for. 👍

I've hit one more snag. Now that everything is filtered, organized, and those extra columns are finally added, I really need to pull all this data into a single sheet. The potential headache here? My data is scattered across a bunch of different files.
I'm wondering if it's possible to automate everything so that all the data gets pulled into one master sheet within its own separate file. I'd want this central file—let's call it master_table.xlsx—to sit right in the same folder as all the individual files being worked on, but act as a standalone destination where everything is consolidated automatically.

Well, I’m not entirely sure if this qualifies as "automatic" enough for what you have in mind, but maybe take a look and see if this hits the mark:

I’ve got an Excel file with over 80 sheets in it, and I need to consolidate everything into a single sheet.

Is there any way to handle this besides the old-fashioned copy-paste method?

One thing that might make it easier—the number of columns is identical across all of them.

Luckily, the number of columns is the same on all of them.

Hey! So, I'm using Word 2010 and I've hit a snag. Can anyone help me fix my page numbering? I need it to start at page 1 on the 4th page instead of where it is now. Thanks! 🙏

Nicholas King said:I mentioned this in my first reply too: just type your text into a TextBox (if you don't like the border, just set the TextBox to have no outline). Once you do that, you'll be able to group everything together.

Thanks so much for the help.
My internet connection is an absolute disaster right now.
I managed to get everything grouped, but the logo doesn't look right anymore.
It keeps cutting off part of the shape underneath the text.
Plus, I've got shapes sitting right on top of my text.
I tried moving all these shapes in front of the text and then behind it—I've been playing around with it forever—but nothing seems to work.

Sure thing—you just need to dig through the forums a bit more; this has been explained about a hundred times already.

Alright, I have a complicated question for you all... Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I’m hoping there are enough capable people on this forum to tackle a problem that isn't necessarily difficult, just incredibly confusing..
Here is the situation: I am building a database in Access—specifically, I am working on a Query. It is a database for tracking the issuance of certain area cards (the specifics don't matter right now, but just imagine the RELATIONSHIPS are like CATEGORIES > BOOKS in a library)

So, I have one table that looks like this:
image

ID is an autonumber. Category is a relational field linked to another table containing the full list of those "books." Last Name is also a relational field from a second table containing everyone who borrows these "books." The checkout/return dates are fields in this table, which I assume you all understand the purpose of.. 🙂
Essentially, this table records every single instance of these Categories being checked out and returned.

Now, here is what I actually want to achieve:

I want to create a query that outputs all categories that have been returned! However, I do not want a category that was returned twice (for example, category 10) to show up twice in my results. I only want it to display the record from when it was last returned. Specifically, I want the record with ID number 18 to be displayed, while ID17 should be completely excluded!

To be clear, I want the red fields shown in image2 Query NOT to appear:
image

Records with IDs 17, 19, 21, and 24 should not be shown because more recent records exist for those specific categories. Additionally, the record for ID20 should be excluded because it hasn't even been returned yet.

The final result produced by my Query should look exactly like this:
image

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? If you need further details, just ask...

Thanks much!

Hey there
Can anyone help me out? I'm working in Word and whenever I type quotation marks, it keeps doing this "word" thing, but I actually need it to look like this

How do I change those settings?
Thanks!

A buddy of mine has this ancient work PC running Windows 98 and Office 2000. It’s an isolated machine—no network access and definitely no internet. He uses it strictly for Word, but he somehow messed up the settings and now all his Toolbars have vanished. I tried to fix it myself without any luck. Even a full reinstallation didn't solve the issue. What's the move here?

Rebecca Wright63 said:So, I'm sitting here trying to get this thing to work—just a simple request, really—but instead of actually starting where I need it to, the system just hands me this single "word" and calls it a day. It’s incredibly frustrating. I mean, I’m asking for a sequence, a beginning, something to actually build upon, and yet... it just stalls out right at the start. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, given how finicky these settings can be sometimes, but still—it's a bit much, isn't it?
Below, "word"

You’ll need to hunt down the Autocorrect options—specifically looking for the "Autoformat as you type" section—and make sure you check the box for "Straight quotes to smart quotes." I suppose the exact path might shift slightly depending on which version of Microsoft Office you're running, and since you haven't mentioned which one you've got installed (not that it matters much in the grand scheme of things), I can't give you a step-by-step map—but that should get you where you need to be.

crimsonotter32 said:It looks like someone accidentally clicked something—I guess you could say they tripped over their own mouse—and now all of their toolbars have just vanished into thin air.

There’s a massive difference between the toolbars and the actual menus—it's like comparing apples to oranges, really. One thing is one, and the other is something else entirely. 🙂

To get those toolbars back, you’ll need to head over to View -> Toolbars—then just check the box next to whatever you actually need (it’s usually just Standard and Formatting).

Thanks a lot!

In the Query, select the criteria you want to filter by—in your case, the return date.

What language is actually assigned to the Normal style? Try setting the language to "English" and see if anything changes at all.

How on earth do I fix that setting?
thanks

Look, if you can't find the setting in the menu, just do it manually: use Alt+0132 for the opening quotes and Alt+0147 for the closing ones (this works in Microsoft Office 2003)

Hey there!

So, I'm messing around in Excel 2007 with a massive spreadsheet—we're talking roughly 20,000 rows pulled from all sorts of ancient versions of Excel. Every single time I try to do something basic, like filtering a column or just changing a font, the whole thing crawls for like 20 minutes. Honestly, half the time it just completely freezes up on me, and I have to go full "End Task" in the Task Manager just to get my life back. I get that processing this much data takes a second, but is it really supposed to be this painful? Is there any way to fix this mess so it actually works like it's supposed to?

thanks!

The Word 2000 issue is being labeled online as "missing toolbars." Nicholas King, there wasn't even a "View" option or anything else available to me. Thanks anyway.
The solution that actually worked was:

Shut down Word.
Go to the Start menu and select Run. Windows displays the Run dialog box.
(Click here to view the corresponding chart.)
3. Hit the Browse button. This will bring up the Browse dialog box on your screen.
4. Use the controls within the dialog box to find and select WINWORD.exe.
The software itself. (This is the actual Word program.)
5. Click open. Once you do, the Browse dialog box will disappear, leaving you with the full file path.
WINWORD.exe now appears in the open field of the Run dialog box. It shouldn't.
It should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE"

6. Go to the open field of the Run dialog box and place your cursor right after the very last character.
Basically, it happens immediately following the closing parenthesis.
7. Hit the spacebar, then type /a. You should see an open box pop up that looks just like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.exe" /a

8. Hit OK.

Word should be launching by now. Just so you know, using that /a switch means Word starts up with a few specific limitations:

Normal.dot is being ignored.
Just so we're clear: any templates sitting in the Startup folder aren't being picked up. They're ignored.
It doesn't matter what kind of add-in libraries you have; any .wll files are simply ignored.
Any user settings within the Windows Registry are completely ignored.
