Maybe try asking if they can cut you a deal on a bulk order like that, who knows? They might throw you a bone and give you a better price.

The answer to what you asked is a hard no.

Just take a look at this.

Wouldn't a 70% discount 😲 on a Microsoft product (meaning, someone else's property) — being offered by a party you're sending cash to electronically — be a massive red flag rather than some incredible business opportunity? I mean, seriously... can you even begin to conceive of a single logical reason why such a steep discount would be valid specifically with them and nobody else?

Can you honestly think of a single logical reason why such a steep markdown would exist exclusively with them and nobody else?

Thanks for the input, everyone. A special thanks to Nicholas King; that link you shared cleared up all my doubts instantly.

To answer your question: Yes, absolutely. The second I saw this "deal," my internal alarm bells started ringing. That’s exactly why I came here for advice. It turned out to be a quick and efficient way to confirm that the site was nothing but a scam.

Thanks again.

One more thing—does anyone here have any insight into Microsoft volume licensing?
Theoretically, there should be significant savings when buying five or more Office packages, but the website is being incredibly vague about what those actual savings look like.

Arthur Turner said:There really ought to be some sort of clear discount when you're bundling five or more Microsoft Office packages, but—for some reason—they don't actually bother to specify what that savings looks like anywhere on the page.

Have you tried basically "faking" the checkout process—you know, just clicking through until you hit that final step right before you actually pay—to see if the total reflects a lower price?

I could really use some help here. I’m currently cleaning up some spreadsheets in Excel, and the serial numbers in my first column have become a total mess because of all the constant edits I've been making. Up until now, I’ve just been getting by by copying and pasting from other sheets, but this particular one has over 600 rows. Is there actually a way to automatically reset or populate those sequence numbers in a column?

I’m assuming there’s some kind of discount if I grab five or more Office packages at once, but their website is being incredibly vague about what the actual savings look like.

Look, just shoot an inquiry to a few different vendors and ask for a quote. You aren't going to get anywhere just clicking around the website. 🙂

Is there any way to grab Microsoft Office via torrents or something similar for free?
If you have a link, please share it...

Greetings, everyone.

I am receiving an export from a specific report into Excel that calculates task duration.

The cell is set to a general format, yielding results such as: 2d 2h 15min.

How might I convert this duration into standard working hours—for instance: 50:15?

Thank you in advance for any assistance...

Try setting the cell format to custom or Time 37:33:55 (check out LINK)

Didn't think you were such a stickler for the rules.
What does the file actually look like? Throw up an example or something. Is that "2d 2h 15min" result coming from a formula or is it just plain text?
Check this link again—I tweaked it based on your example.

Excel; I need to merge two different tables (if that makes sense)

image

The table on the left side shows #question1|Question|Answer (selected from a dropdown list)|A numerical value tied to that answer

Is there a way to automatically pull that number from the table on the right? For example, if Answer3 is picked for question1, I want cell D2 to automatically show the number 4 (the table on the right acts as a 'legend' for each question)

I've been digging through Excel tutorials for Excel, but I'm still struggling—I'm pretty new to all this.

Take another look at this link because I’ve made some adjustments based on your example.

Using this new example you provided, I managed to get it working.
Everything is running perfectly now. Thanks for the help...

Check this link for some tips on the Excel function. Also, if you need to set up dependent drop-down lists, there's a guide for that on the same link too.

Angela Anderson44 said:Thanks. I honestly figured this would be super straightforward.

Sometimes, it’s actually pretty smart to just pop this formula into A1 and drag it down:
=ROW(A1)

The problem is, when you go to sort the data in a different column, those serial numbers in column A won't budge.

One more thing: Is it possible to add buttons that just bump a value up by 1? Like, if a cell has a 5 in it, I hit a button and it jumps to 6?

Look, it might not be the prettiest little script ever written, but hey, it does exactly what you asked for, right? It takes whatever is currently sitting in cells A1 through A500 and bumps the value up by one. Just toss this code into a module and then use the Assign Macro feature to link it to a button. You can tweak the settings in the visual editor to make sure everything fits your specific needs. I used column "F" to run the math—it calculates the +1, then wipes the formula away and moves those final values back into the A1-A500 range. If column F is already being used for something else, just swap out the letter for some empty column way off to the side. Oh, and if you prefer the data to look different, you can always change the alignment to "Right."

Seriously though, this Macro is about as basic as they come, but isn't that what matters? It gets the job done!

Sub Increase_colA_by_1()
'
' Sub Increase_colA_by_1 Macro
'

'
Range("F1").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=RC[-5]+1"
Range("F1").Select
AutoFill Destination := range("F1:F500"), Type:=xlFillDefault
Range("F1:F500").Select
Copy Selection
PasteSpecial paste : = xlPasteValuesAndNumberFormats, Operation:= _
xlNone, SkipBlanks:=False, Transpose:=False
CutCopyMode = False Selection
cut range
Range("A1").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
With Selection
.HorizontalAlignment = xlLeft
.VerticalAlignment = xlBottom
.WrapText = False
.Orientation = 0
.AddIndent = False
.IndentLevel = 0
.ShrinkToFit = False
.ReadingOrder = xlContext
.MergeCells = False end with end Sub
End With
End Sub

Alright, let's say your number is sitting in A1. Right-click the Sheet tab at the bottom and hit
View Code. Just paste this Macro right here:
Code:
Sub plus()
Application.EnableCancelKey = xlDisabled
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Range("A1") = Range("A1").Value + 1
End Sub

Head back to the Sheet. Drop a button next to your cell. Then Assign Macro
to it using the code you just pasted.
If you need to hit multiple cells on one sheet, do this:
Code:
Sub plus()
Application.EnableCancelKey = xlDisabled
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Sheet2.Range("A1") = Sheet2.Range("A1").Value + 1
Sheet2.Range("A2") = Sheet2.Range("A2").Value + 1
Sheet2.Range("A3") = Sheet2.Range("A3").Value + 1
Sheet2.Range("A4") = Sheet2.Range("A4").Value + 1
Sheet2.Range("A5") = Sheet2.Range("A5").Value + 1
Sheet2.Range("A6") = Sheet2.Range("A6").Value + 1
End Sub
